^ Indeed, it's exactly why I did what I have to my E36, it's my (nearly 25k) weekend toy, and unlike a factory car you just can't go out and buy another one, you have to put one together yourself or get someone to do it. Besides, after considering many cars I finally got bored of not finding something that interested me long term, and that could be a unique project, until I realized I could incorporate my favorite engine & chassis together, the results speak for themselves - I'm as happy as Larry!

Haha, Well I am rather fond of the E36s coupe shape only, but the front has to have the M-tech kit etc or else I find them particularly dull & dated. I do despise the E36 4 door however. My main quibble with the new BMW front ends, particularly the F20 is the lack of a defined / protruding front bumper like all the olders BMWs have had.... but I believe the flat faced designs are due to pedestrian impact regulations...
-
Gotta love that M Coupe rear end/stance...
-
The fact it's not a 2.5 six (so much for the badge numbers meaning anything now) and that the front end design makes me want to look the other way means I'd I would have no interest in such a car despite it's strong points. I'm sure this would be the case for many people out there in a buying position...

I just got some textured black vinyl from a place off Trade Me, recovered my parcel tray myself. Looks really good and is a UV stable type. It's a bit fiddly, but worth saving on the labor cost for someone else to do it.

Haha they are stupid, but offer an interesting minimalistic look Those 'acid' style chrome 'ghetto' wheels are far worse the likes of those!
-
Oh my, 21k for that! What a steal.
-
Yeah they do, you just have to go through all the checkout menus up to the last page where you confirm, it has a shipping cost total.
-
Sweet Machine! Does it go fast?
-
Yeah it's bullshit. In Australia its like $1000 before you get GST.. and thats AUD!
-
$60-100 NZD are the usual shipping costs. Keep it under $400 NZD for the items and shipping. The GST threshold is $60+ Last time I spent $410, customs took advantage of that and I had a $100 bill from them. SIGH!

Hell, where was the oil leaking from? Also looks like dried/leaky coolant on the right too?
-
+1 The older AMG Black CLK coupe was BMWs best I think.
-
Haha I know right. The oval tips looked a bit daft before... American etc etc.. I had to get rid of them anyway. I moved the exhaust back 60mm so they stuck out way too much.

Great score Brent. God those 540i 1993-1996 fronts look fantastic.
-
Holy hell, what a score!! 20k, but perhaps worth it for such a pristine example? I'd be tempted to buy it for that money if my 340i project didn't exist.
-
Replaced the silly oval tips for 4 straight cut 2.5" stainless ones. Much better!
-
Just goes to show those things are harmful! Poor M62...

I would inspect the strut top hats. They take the majority of the suspension load through a hard rubber mounted bearing, so could well cause a squeak if they are knackered
-
Sweet ride. Gotta love those AA reports - as soon as its a BMW they instantly give it a bad score.. fools. Like I've said I really like the E36 wagons, despite the E36 series being old I think they have aged very well. All you need now is a set of engine and gearbox mounts for a 1UZ conversion!

I think Gavin at Euro Italia on the shore had them for $50 last time I went there.

Dark blue M5 Touring V10... on Wednesday going through Greenlane. Black E39 M5 in One Tree Hill today, parked on Tawa road - looked immaculate!
