  1. In my opinion as well the S62 is vastly better sounding motor, then again I'm bias for a good V8 track - they just hit all the right notes and tones that really stir the soul... Somehow the V10 with its particular firing order is not anywhere near as alluring, if anything it's annoying to my ear... like a loud Honda, I think if they sounded more like the V10 Dodge viper I'd like them more, but of course they run a different firing sequence among other design differences. Eg,
  2. Yeah, the proximity to the center of rotation would be the main factor to counter any real effect, but my mind can't help but dislike the fact one of the 5 nuts is still needlessly lighter!
  3. I was staring at my car earlier tonight and I had a brainwave about the fact I'm running 4 standard wheel nuts plus a non OEM wheel locking nut - so does that mean there's an imbalance of weights on the hub? I proceeded to remove the two types and weigh them, a found a fairly significant difference of 10 grams is between them. Considering wheel balancing weights are this vicinity it does make me wonder if even the slightest difference in wheel nut weights could generate a tinny shimmy through the hub. Probably not enough to notice but I think technically it stands to reason all 5 nuts on each hub should be matching. Has anyone thought about such minor details before?

    M3 CSL

Mmmmm the ultimate BMW, such a pure classic
  5. What a beauty, it's sure gonna look great on those RC090s
  6. One of the great all time BMWs
  7. The fact you were looking at such a car is even more worrying!!
  8. These are ostentatious they have become uninteresting.
  9. Lexus V8 would go well if you want a fairly poor HP to dollar upgrade
  10. I'd be reluctant to throw in the new age turbo engines. Keep those for the plastic E90s An Alpina B10 bi turbo replica would be much cooler for an E34

I had one years ago, cheap and no frills motoring. I think mine was a bit iffy, had a shimmy with the hard top off, went away with it on... Not the greatest handling car in stock form, my twice as heavy active suspension soarer could run rings around one.
  12. Holy damn that looks so good. Makes me want another E36!
  13. But seriously, 6 hosts. Are they taking the piss?
  14. Ha! What is with the lack of sarcasm on this forum?
  15. If I had a husband one of those would be fabulous
  16. S62 swap is all you need
  17. For a simple once piece driveshaft to work, I think you need solid differential mounts and engine mounts so it takes out any pulling or pressing forces on the shaft. Stock stuff moves around quite a bit hence the use of a splined shaft for stress to be dissipated at that point.
  18. Looked at it and noticed how many dents it has and how iffy the paint is in certainly lights. Sigh...
  19. That would be probably the safe limit. Try get more out of such and you'd start blowing the plastic manifolds, pipes and other such cost saving, build to a spec parts - Of course I'm guessing but that is what I'd expect. Very different to the days of thick chunky alloy that you'd see on a M70. Theres a reason old motors can take good boost, over engineered for a period before improvements in development / cost saving came along.
  20. P&S Auto in East Tamaki, they're a good bunch.
