Busy weekend working on the M5. The car now has new brake disc's/pads/sensors all round, aside from having to drill out the set screws on the front disc's the job was fairly easy. Completed a brake fluid flush with some Motul DOT4 LV. Replaced the cabin air filters which were dated 2016. Replaced all 9.3L of oil with BMW supplied 10w60. Was happy to see no leaks of any kind under the engine/trans/diff, BM Workshop has done a fantastic job of making the car look like it's never had the engine out.

the ae86 has gone, though not with any lingering sadness. It needed to go to make room in the garage for the car I have been looking for for what seems like ten years+. 1984 Fiat Strada 130TC Abarth. It's mint. Happy as, me.

Gave her a compulsory wash after a bit of work done over the last week 🙂 Sump leak that's been gradually getting worse - fixed! Brake fluid flush (there was moisture apparently) - done! Con-rod bearings were showing a fair bit of wear. Replace all 12 bearings? - done! Other than that a regular service/do-over and WOF passed with flying colors. Car is still running very nicely, and after having a 116i as my loan car for a week boy am I glad to have this thing back.

Seems quite a few of you are getting Inbox spam. If you do please just report it. It seems they have created the accounts and went through the user list sending private messages.

Yes, we seem to be under a spam attack. Very targeted though, even mentioning BMWs in the message. We are blocking the users when they are reported, so keep sending them through. Cheers, Admin.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Might be worth trying to get a new one from Aliexpress? It's where I got mine, wasn't too expensive from memory.

I've had to do a fair bit of reading up. It's straightforward-ish but you need to make sure you read up on the requirements. You can't just buy a car and take it over, you have to be moving to Aussie with the intent to live there, you have to have owned and used the car for at least one year ect. The duties also make it very expensive. For my car, depending on how they value it, I'm looking at around 15-20k all up. Sounds crazy high, however the cars are also more expensive there. If I take that into account, plus the fact that I might not get a good price trying to sell it here, the fact that buying an unknown used car is a risk and I might have trouble finding my ideal spec at a good price... it still doesn't seem like a totally stupid idea to ship it Their import laws do indeed make bugger-all sense now that they have no local car production. And some job it did at saving their car industry lol. But they seem to love their duties and taxes, as well as all kinds of laws and fines a hell of a lot more than Kiwis!

It’s lovely, I’m not in the market for one (or any car worth more than $5000 in general), but, that doesn’t seem unreasonable when weighted against what’s happening back on 80’s and 90’s era delicacies.

Looks a nice car, modded, but looks period which is cool. If that’s your style over originality then fill your boots. Questions would be how long has it been parked up and how well stored.. do the photos reflect current condition? Price estimate is on the high side, if there were no negatives from the storage, then I would say $15k would be the top end of the price range, not the bottom.

Hi all, I owned a showroom modified Datsun 240z 25 years ago, and never got over selling it. Then I found a 2 seater, straight 6, modernish coupe. The Z4 E86. I love this car. 6 weeks into ownership I've installed Ray's Homura 2x7 19" wheels, on 235/35 fronts and 265/30 rears and did the sound generator mod.
