I've had such a busy time with renovations, little time to drive my e30. Had a little time up my sleeve this morning, met up with @adro and we made some images.

You might want to read up on what’s new in the automotive world, things have moved on quite a bit, especially in the world of interior finishes and technology. Sustainability is a big thing now and 90s plastics are no longer in vogue. The problem with changing things as radically as the iX is that it will always be very divisive, give it a few years and then see. Whilst the iX is not my favourite style of vehicle (ie large SAV) the ride, the drive and the tech are mighty impressive and I can’t wait to see them transposed into my favourite, the sports sedan in the shape of an i4. Here’s hoping that BMW have hit the right spot with the market, so they can sell cars and stay in business, which then maintains the supply of spare parts for our older models.

Found an awesome 2nd hand book in Napier today, Bathurst 1985, loads of great BMW photos included such as this one.

Fedex has been super screwed up in recent months due to the industrial strike they had in Australia, its been slow ever since, I've had a number of slow items, and they usually took a week.

Drove it to work. Didn't break down. Winning. Kinda missed E36 ownership.

Ill allow that as an exception, Friends dont let friends buy 4 pot bmws that cost less than 6 figures for an average example and have an S series engine. Its not as catchy though.

Bought this 330i for an engine overhaul & swap. Anything related to that (engine, ECU, transmission, drivetrain & brakes etc.) unavailable, the rest is up for grabs if anyone needs any bits. Has left hand damage, other panels have various degrees of minor dents & scratches. Ask away and I can provide more detailed photos & description of condition. Interior is in good nick, fully leather with perforated middle sections, electric fronts. More detailed photos (more photos will be added as the car gets disassembled): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pzn6u86jztjvzxz/AABKKkO83utOuJVn-bOeBImYa?dl=0 Available: Wheels - $250 (look to be Style 67 17" reps, one rim has paint flaking off, others have minor kerbing, tires are near new, 7-8mm all round, 225/45R17 front, 235/45R17 rear) Front seats - $100 Rear seats - $50 Xenon headlights - $200 (lenses quite faded, missing rear dust caps) AC Schnitzer cluster - $50 (160,221 km) Black grilles - $10 (suit FL sedan/touring, some clips broken off, were held in with some sort of gunk, would need the same treatment) AC Schnitzer roof spoiler - $50 (part # 5131 46 110) Body panels - $50 a pop Ask away for the rest, prices and more photos available upon request. Not looking to make big bucks, just don't like throwing stuff away that someone might find use for. Will use Pick-A-Part pricing as a rough guide. Sold: Trim inserts Boot Taillights Floor mats Windshield cowl Door cards Pickup - Halswell, Christchurch. Would prefer not to ship but happy to accommodate courier pickup. Will give prices for other bits upon request.

Nearly got the engine back together on the 540i, draining the fuel tank tomorrow and refilling, time to start it up after that! Better make sure I put the exhaust front section on before I do though haha

I would say they've done some things right (non-M 3 series, 5 series) but this is not one of them...

Bmw hasn't done anything right for a few years now. This iX thing is one of them imo.

It’s the iX which will be BMWs technology flagship for the next while. It does have a minimalist design approach inside yes but material quality is better than the 7-series and it’s priced to match, starting at $163900 for the xdrive40 model. Size wise its comparable to the x5 (a little longer, slightly narrower). The old i3 has nothing on this.

Sorry to hear you had to let her go, great car. Out of curiosity what is the dial by your head unit? Don't have it on mine.

Hyper has bumped their price up to say they're $1500+ each, 40% gets them to just over $1k. They were on TM at $680 new and the ones I looked at were $500 each. Tyroola (probably also old stock) is $618. It was just a thought, I have a spare set of 20", so can hold off on the 21". Think I'll run with my "no'. Momo are about $1500/set in 20".
