2 pointshttps://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-4362652422.htm not much info, but handsome touring none the less.

2 pointsSold to a like-minded enthusiast in our awesome Club. I am incredibly pleased it has gone to such a good home.

1 pointMy goodness - the plate history on that car is dizzying Plate Effective Date CKE614 22-Dec-2004 MMMPWR 09-Oct-2004 CDC836 02-Jul-2004 DDGDD 30-Apr-2004 BTT129 30-Jan-2004 E46M3 13-Jan-2004 BSW377 05-Jan-2004

1 pointYes it is a factory order and no I have not received a build slot yet. The colour is Isle of Man Green with black wheels, black brake calipers and a black leather interior.

1 pointThe one that drives me wild is 123,xxxkms but will go up as still driving... It's not an uni assignment where you've got to make a character limit
-
1 pointThe one that really boils my piss... "BYO wheels" Like everyone has a suitable set of wheels to put on a car they're buying, so they can drive it away... Because little Jimmy wants to keep the wheels currently fitted
-
1 pointDon't forget 'perfect condition for year'. Perfect is an absolute. It either is, or it isn't. There is no qualifier! (I've no issue with people asking questions - I absolutely appreciate a desire to know as much as possible, especially if viewing isn't practical for whatever reason.)
-
1 pointMy favourite is their pride and joy they’ve owned for 3 months.
-
1 pointThe "gets X km to a tank" crowd makes my blood boil. Or, its increasingly popular variant - "rear". Other notable pet peeves are "sort after" and "Manuel" [sic]. Must be a Mexican import. Scary amount of people out there that should have their high school certificates revoked.
-
1 pointAd says: "One owner for 27 years..." Question - "Any service history from before you bought it?"
-
1 pointLong gone, now idiots can ask questions on anything they want.

1 pointI had that a few weeks back, they even put a bid in after me assuming I would keep bidding. I didn't. The "other buyer" won the auction. But wouldn't you know it, that same day the seller contacted me saying the "other buyer" didn't make contact. Was actually to my advantage as I offered him less than what I would have paid and he accepted it knowing well that the item had been relisted for 8 weeks and I was the only real bidder. I have over 5,000 sales on trade-Me and can say out of that 5,000 plus sales I could count on one hand how many "question askers" actually follow through, the conversion is so low I could only recall two in the past 5 years. Real buyers do their own homework, read the descriptions properly and if still in doubt, call me on the phone. Remember than next time your two Export Golds deep and decide to ask if that 2017 AMG E63 you cant afford has had its cambelt done.
-
1 pointThen there's the 'organised' flip side - the questions from non-buyers which start with "Looks like a great car!" and go on to either praise the seller, praise the car, or offer opportunities to compare to lesser examples.

1 pointThe seals on top of the bumper are the “normal” M3 3-piece seals not Evo3, and there aren’t any bonnet to guard seals fitted in those photos? Plenty wrong to make it perfect - the non-dogleg box (Jap Spec), aftermarket wheels and non-black rocker cover are the big ones for me. But overall presents pretty well for a lightly refreshed M3, how much M3 do you get for $125k these days? Market has definitely slowed recently, not a lot of spare change in the economy for playthings like week-end classics right now so could take a while to find a new home.
-
1 pointOK - from the M3 to a more mundane example. 1987 318i automatic. So, the M10B18 (great engine!) Sensible mileage, decent but not outstanding condition (and not claimed to be), a coupe, no sunroof... Needs manual window winders to be a true poverty spec (my favourite). https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/4290703953

1 pointYou gotta try - it’s probably the only Granitsilber Tech2 in NZ, has low kms and looks very tidy. More info to help would really just be major maintenance completed recently etc, especially if it sat a few years.

Makes me wish I'd pulled the trigger on a Black/Cloth SE for $50K in 2002…

1 pointJust noticed this '90 325i conv. auto on the Munich Legends site for NZ$70k equiv !! They're known for high asking prices but the stock is usually good quality. Mileage isn't low for a top-money collectable. Is this a wider UK price trend for good E30s ? Maybe I'll head out to the shed and give mine a polish 😊 https://munichlegends.co.uk/item/bmw-e30-325i-convertible-73340/
-
1 pointyep the manual 316i FL is the lightest spec e30, less sound deadening, no electric seats, no sunroof so lower c of g and best of all no rusty sunroof leaking! they are the bomb. give everything on your 33 year old nana car a birthday, rubbers bushes QUALITY tyres fuel lines cooling system shocks fluidsbrakes... wof rego insurance, and go and enjoy the pure spirit of driving an analogue manual car. teach yourself to drive in the wet without losing the tail, learn cadence braking, learn to heel-and-toe double de-clutch. more fun than your first shag and longer lasting too! 😂
-
1 point1990 BMW 316i just came up. Looks tidy, painted bumper trim looks a bit odd, but surely a manual facelift coupe in that condition will sell at that price. No sunroof is a bonus.
-
1 pointSeems about right. Heaps of overpriced E30s on Trade Me that aren’t selling
-
1 point@Driftit I know where you’re coming from, however, it is still an E30 which is still cooler than 95% of the cars out there today. Let’s face it, it’s pretty much pointless having any car with more than 90hp these days, between traffic and reduced speed limits you can’t enjoy any more power than that. Well in Akl anyways.
