Kashish this is very good advice from a guy who pushed his N55 pretty hard and broke it.

Hi All New to this site, just traded in the 2014 C63 for a 2015 M4.....night and day between them. Have only seen 1 other black M4 in Wellington, wonder how many others there are? I am keen on adding 12mm spacers to wheels and a lip, side skirts and diffuser at some stage. Any advice on where to get good quality non-OEM parts would be appreciated. Cheers

A rusty 325i sedan with holes through the floors and a list of WoF issues as long as your arm has just gone past $6k on a no-reserve auction. Looks nice from the outside, but there is a fair chunk of money required to get this back on the road.

Hey thanks you're right, the colour has a lot of variances. Sometimes it appears to be bronze, gold, brown, silver, gunmetal, gray or champagne. My mum actually said to me why can't all cars be that colour lol

Can I just quote myself here. Also let me know when you are selling the 535 @GorGasm. I will try convince the wife.

325i manual for $15k https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2212985628&rsqid=8fa76d71f17b4fb29e50e2b9a1ba1711-003 Or a SA built 325i Auto for $9.5k https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2212057356.htm?rsqid=5a4c0d075cb545519602894040040ce5-003 I know there has been an E30 tax for a long time, and M3s and M325i have been above this level for a long time, but is this really the price level of 4-door 325i now? OK they are listed at these prices but have not sold yet. I've been amazed at some of the prices I am seeing on E30s on Facebook groups, etc. and these were a couple of the highest asking prices. Hopefully this is actually a true reflection and I should be increasing the insurance on my E30s, and horde of junk valuable spare parts.

Hi nice to meet you all , I'm James I'm a new member of bimmersports. I live an the Auckland region, I own a couple BMW's and recently purchased a 2001 E39 528i Msport to add to the collection it's a nice family cruiser and still packs a punch when needed on our crazy roads, I also own a 1990 E30 320i sedan, which once was a street weapon. but now have decided to build it into a time attack/drift machine and put my driving/mechanical skills to good use rather than on the streets. Cheers guys.

John Frankenheimer's classic, Ronin. Natascha McElhone ? hustling a a 3.6 M5 through Paris being chased by Robert De Niro in a 406. We all know the car that flips at the end isn't really an M5 when it switches from Turbines to Weaves and back to Turbines again, but those magnesium Turbines were never cheap, even in 1997. Always cracks me up when Stellan Skarsgård's character only buckles up in the M5 about 4:30 in when they start going against the flow of traffic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkoFIs0nXcU

The black one in Tauranga could be worth a closer inspection. Quite a lot to like about it, and the mechanics are a delight, 6 speed auto and the sublime N52 engine. Don't let the kms put you off, its barely run in. No affiliation. (But we are biased!)

I've just replaced my bmw performance shifter boot and knob with something else. Was thinking of selling it, if you're interested?

Shifter. Mines in good nick but keeps falling off the gear knob attachment. Think I'll try ebay next as they look decent quality and can get some nice stitching on there. Have a parts order sitting with schmiedmann for other cosmetics but I bought a PS5 ? so not wanting to spend too much atm.

I dont where SKF are sourced and manufactured these days but they tend to be the most expensive bearings in general. Ive had FAG bearings from Germany, India, Romania etc but no issues. Im sure where BMW source them from for new vehicles is different to where parts suppliers get them from.

I did see some old threads with them being in e34s. Brent had a heap of bits, so hoping he has some still around. Wouldn’t mind the CD stacker cables too

I forget if you have done pads already, but I really liked the ceramic ones in Alans old car. They worked ok, and didn't make a mess.

Another cosmetic part arrived but its for a LHD car lol. Managed to get a refund on it, will have to source from elsewhere. A week or so on and the gearbox is super slick now, feels liquid smooth and really enhances the driving experience. Such a difference for a relatively minor piece of work.

I spent four hours working on his car to try and help him out. But he ignored EVERY single piece of advice I gave him and thought he knew better so I gave up. Some people cant be helped

Lovely colour and goes really well with those wheels. It would really pop in twilight conditions btw.

How are you going to use this car? Have you put any thought towards handling/suspension and brakes? Is just for drag racing and occasionally showing off on the street? Sounds like you're just wildly looking up ideas without knowing what you're getting in to. Plus consider you'll need a tuner, someone to install this, maintenance because this kind of power will not be kind to an engine where anything is less than perfect or worn. You'll be spending 650i/M6 money to do that right, so if that's your goal don't mess around and get the right car in the first place otherwise you'll regret it later. Think you need to take a step back and consider if you're getting in over your head here. Some simple bolt-ones like an intercooler, downpipe, MHD stage 1+ or 2 tune, will give you a nice reasonable tune without too much additional headache. 350hp or so, enough to light up the tyres and have fun without too much crazy work. You enter a whole new world of complication and expense once you start looking at big turbo upgrades.

Installation is the reverse of removal??? ?

There will be a point where adding HP is pointless. Can the rest of the car handle 500+hp, and where are you even going to use that much power, a beached whale is hardly a track focused car.

Put my ST XA coilovers on today... went well - really stoked, so much flatter and more responsive through corners and WAY happier changing direction, no rubbing and rides pretty good too - firm but well damped (in middle of adjustable damping range at the moment). Might do a little more fine tuning in the next week then its alignment and cert time. Is about 325-330mmmm hub to arch all-round which is a good balance between looks and (relative) practicality I think. Was thinking of rolling rear gaurds and getting a 10mm spacer on there for a little more thicc before cert but given its not rubbing may just leave it. Bonus pic - new Piano black trims installed - loving them.

I have come to the conclusion the best cars to buy are the ones I am selling.

I don't name the cars, the wife does. But here it is, the baby wagon we picked up a couple of weeks ago. Freshly back from OCD for a stage 3 package. Amazing family car package, super comfortable, nice to drive, reasonable power and actually good on gas! Imperial Blue brilliant effect metallic (lol, and the photos don't do the colour justice, it's actually very blue in the sun), and Everest Gray leather, and M-sport. The really great features I think are the double sunroof, active steering with ridiculous turning radius and the 8 speed auto.

Your e36 will be Obd2. Most people keep the charcoal canister, otherwise the fuel vent line vents fuel fumes into your engine bay. If you do decide to delete it, use a 1watt, 1k resistor in the end of the wire to stop getting codes.

I know the feeling! Just happened to me too, and now have to send it back to Germany if I want to swap it for the right one, at my expense of course ?

A bloke down here knows of the guy, and the vehicle was apparently on axle stands. I don't know enough to comment further but by all accounts he was being safe
