Sadly said goodbye to the old girl on Friday last week. She did well at market fetching a cool $29K. Probably still owes me a chunk but no one gets an E31 as an investment. Can’t say I’ll miss the trepidation every time a new thousand dollar ‘noise’ was heard though!! 😂 Farewell, old girl.

E36's are rising so fast Rose City has slapped another $5K onto asking for the Byzanz M3 🤣

Think a car looking like this one, you are buying on condition and presentation. Doubt you could do what the owner had done for 10k. And provenance repowered etc given the age is fast becoming meaningless.

Ha! Yeah, been a bit quiet on here for the last couple of years. Been too busy building Star Wars props for me and the kid!!

The E36 Market is certainly on the rise. I had no trouble selling my 328i for good money and to be fair could have sold it 3 times over. People are starting to see how good these cars are now.

Anyone else disappointed that Misha didn't take project Dubai around the Ring when Streton visited Apex?

yep, sold to the first person that looked at it. Life circumstances have dictated I need to thin out the fleet, so the most fun & least useful car has to go. $4000 firm to Bimmersport The Good M42B18 Twin Tip DTM Style Muffler with 2.5” exhaust Manual (uncerted conversion) Good Head Unit Solid Mount Shifter The Bad Dash Cracks Drivers seat is a murder scene Rear left window doesn’t work Rear right window only works with main front switch Cluster service light bar and Econo meter non functional (not investigated) Other than that she’s loads of fun. Located in Christchurch, delivery about the country up for discussion. it looks like a massive primered section below but it’s an optical illusion caused by my security light

I enjoyed my E60 530d. Though I never got to drive it. Ended up being the wifes. Wouldn't mind an LCI. But unless I am towing the figures are not much better than an F10 535i. Waiting for @GorGasm to sell me his

I think I saw this one, it was looking very good with the updated LCI gearbox and nicely optioned. was going to forward it to you but didnt get around to it but glad you managed to find it! should be an awesome car. fingers crossed!

I'm not one for all the stuff you're doing but I like your style and the fact you own it.

Since I live my life a quarter mile at a time I decided to upgrade my neons. This new setup uses led strips with 60 leds per meter, as opposed to my old setup which used 30 leds per meter (now twice as bright so twice the street cred). The led strips are addressable meaning you make make then do all kinds of stuff not even seen in the new Need for Speed. I put together the whole thing custom including the wiring harness (and no, I won't sell you one because I don't want anyone stealing my thunder (or should I say lightening) at a car meet). The end result is this: NFS-final.mp4 Also a final shot showing off the interior lights as well which are hooked up to turn on when the doors open.

Quick update a few weeks in... I'm really impressed with the grip, traction, noise and feedback of the R003's, they're quite epic, better than I expected. The absence of any form of rim protection, after 15 years on Goodyears, is a bummer though and they have a quite 'round' profile compared to the 'square' look of the F1's so look a lot thinner. But, at ~$300 a corner I'm not sure I could do better considering they're 225's and 255's. Thinking ahead, I have an M3 26mm front ARB, what size rear should I go for (considering I have an LSD)? Whiteline any good? They're cheap. 20mm? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/suspension/listing/2883012426 16mm? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/suspension/listing/2875177428

Unfortunately most of the diesel e8x series come with no xenons. In fact I am yet to find one that has xenons as factory. Its been a struggle but we're there I think. I found an 07 LCI 530d with an impressive list of options. Motorsport etc and adaptive xenons to boot. I am flying to Wellington this Friday to pick it up. @Andy E30is going to check it out for me. I paid the guy a deposit already so hopefully it pans out. Ex UK car but has been in nz since 2010 and had 50k on it when it got here. Now doing 124ks. Hopefully it's as good as the fella says.

Finally managed to secure a later version 635csi with the E28 platform, NZ new. Glovebox full of receipts, no significant visible rust and not in the common areas. Already on axle stands, front struts removed and on there way to Speedfactor to get the Adjustables welded on, new Brake rotors ordered for the E34 540i Rotor with E32 caliper upgrade sorted. I could only order mixed colours of the wheels I wanted to get the right sizes so will drop the 17x10 Rears off to get painted Silver to match fronts. Fingers crossed this will all be back to me before Xmas and I can get it dropped down and looking how I want. (Yes that is the donor M62B46 engine in the back ground :))

LSD I'd guess but Adaptive Xenon's would be up there.
  19. 1 point
@Jacko Am I right in thinking Xenon's would be the single most expensive option on an E87?
  20. 1 point
Negative. The euro m3 has a 3.5” intake where as the u.s is the 3” like the 325/328

Thats a cool little car, odd spec (all the bells and whistles, but no xenons?) and NZ new... pretty rare

But halogens... And how can they be worth the same as a 130? 😮

Maybe start with posing a question and see what their attitude is. Ask if they are confident they can resolve all issues or if they would rather take the car back to settle the matter more easily?
  25. 1 point
At this point, I think you should ask to return the car. Honestly seems like they sold you a lemon. I'm not generally one to give up on a car over a couple issues as I know that's just life, but I find it hard to imagine they didn't notice serious issues with this one before selling it.

dang mate. hope it is not causing too many ulcers. f10 will shrink around you after a while imo

It's a 10 year old thread. PM the seller. However they have posted once in 9 years, 2 years ago.

Hi all, just joined. currently have a 2001 540i, 220,000km. thankfully previous owner had done ALOT of work on it with the exception of the timing chain guides which I'm currently working through ( fun times >.<). have had multiple e30/e36 3 series in the past and this is my first venture into 5 series, but soo far loving it. apologies for the photos im not the best with a camera lol.
