Well, this has gotten unexpectedly out of hand. I just want to sell these control arms... I don't really have a problem with what anyone has said, the initial replies were intended to be helpful, as for the rest, I don't know. Let me explain a bit further how I come to buy these and why I'd like to sell them. I have a 95 M3 which needs a new lower ball joint. I can't buy a ball joint and then I discovered 95 M3s have 'one off' control arms which must be purchased from BMW as no aftermarkets replacements are made (makes sense, very small market). I then found these control arms which cost slightly more than 1 BMW arm. I realized it was intended for track use but as there seems no other option I bought it. I should have done more research. A week later I found that I can buy aftermarket HD Meyle control arms which are fine to use as long as you replace both arms. Those Meyle arms have HD rubber bushings. That is my preferred option, though I think the chance of selling these is slim I figured it was worth a shot. The reason I am reluctant to put these on is that the car already has significant road noise and these, with the solid rear bushings, are going to make the noise worse. I'm old, I don't like road noise. However, I'm not rich so if they don't sell in a few weeks I will put them. I am wondering, could I use these control arms with regular HD bushings and the stock bushing mount? Anyone care to ring in on that option?

Two weeks - 20K return on "investment"?

This guy doesn't seem to understand the auction process Sir, YOU where the highest bidder... no one else is willing to pay more. That's why you were able to buy it. Capeesh? -
These arms are NOT for Evo M3s, it says so in the ad, thought not in so many words. They are NOT for use on 96-99 M3 (Evos). I'm sure they are fine for street use, but having nearly solid bushings and steel rather than plastic ball joints they will likely give a very direct feel to the steering and increased road noise. The intent of these is not to change the geometry but to have less deflection under (racing) loads than OEM parts. More importantly.... someone please buy them ๐

Nice E36 M3 (Not Trade Me but similar)

Ugh... the M3 logos on the seats are gaudy. That's not factory, is it? -
Yeah. The blood stains wonโt show.

I bought these in a hurry and now realize I don't really want 'track setup' control arms. My loss, your gain. I paid nz$856 for this with shipping (no kidding). Any one interested in buying them off of me? Fits all E36 and Z3, include 94-95 M3, excluding 96-99 M3 PRICE $650 Pickup Hamilton/Raglan I'd be willing to deliver to Auckland area for $50 (the price below is US$)

Is it the same seller? (same TM account?)

Cheap? $8k for an E36 328 Manual

The ad seems to have forgotten to mention it has 310,000 kms on it. (Carjam) -
OT. ebay should not be used in the same sentence as TM or FB. ebay has full protection. It's just a shame sellers won't use in in NZ and shipping is too dear (usually, but not always) to buy from USA or UK. I once unknowingly bought counterfeit (knockoff) tennis racquets on ebay. When I realized it, I got a full refund including shipping.

Still available.

So close to perfect... but no sunroof. A very nice car.

That is an excellent point, I completely overlooked that.

That sounds quite logical except... how do you explain the sale of 3x E39 M5s in the span of 2 weeks, about a month ago. One for $40k, the others for more than $50k? Each of the sold in less than two days. I know because I bought the 3rd one on the day it was advertised, after missing the 2nd one by waiting one day to call. The 1st one ($40k) was sold by a foolish person who set the buy now $5k too low. There is still one for sale now but, as with these M3s, it is overpriced ($65k, high kms). There have also been 2 or 3 Evo M3s sold in the last few months, though each of them took a few weeks to sell. There is money out there, but it's not foolish. The Evos took time to sell because they were price just above market value. The only E46 M3s I've seen sold are top condition examples for acceptable prices ($55k). But, to support your argument a bit, E39s are 'old man' cars and they (we!) are perhaps more likely to have spare cash. M3s are 'younger man' cars, perhaps less cash lying around?

And tape holding the glove box shut... or something. ๐

Again, oddly sensible for a dealer. Convertibles seem to be the least valuable M cars and the season is over.
-
But the speedo is in miles and, amazingly, the dealer has converted the odo to kms, as if it were in miles. Perhaps they are being shockingly honest?

Yawn. It's a grey Z4 with a black interior. Yawn. I don't care for the wheels. It's a non-M motor (1 throttle body). Yawn. I guess someone somewhere will love it... I suppose it is 'unique'. For the record... "The engine is a handbuilt 3.4-litre E5/2 inline-6 The engine is an enlarged version of the S52B32 engine[3] first installed in the North American M3 (E36)."
-
IMHO the rise is predominately for 6sp manuals, or a least, more significant.
-
From CarJam... what's up with this? Why so many dealers? Ownership History 8 owners in New Zealand (3 owners excluding dealers)
-
Let's analyze this some. He (presumably) couldn't sell if for 40k two years ago, so what now? He won't sell it for $55k? What has been gained? Ok, the value of the car has definitely risen, and it can definitely be sold for $40k-$45k today but I think he's still a bit 'ahead of the market', price wise.
-
Price seems a bit optimistic on this one.. about $10k at least. The other sold in days... I doubt this one will...

Will this fit on a 2007 130i Hatchback?
