  1. As it says... Would like new/used rear shocks for the Z3.
  2. Or Pick-A-Part. Should be able to a suitable donor car there.
  3. Go to Pick-A-Part. Should be able to a suitable donor car there.
  4. me noob? What is LSB? thanks
  5. I'm just being an ass here really but... What lunatic imported this? It's hard to imagine a less special car...in LHD. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/z3/listing/2955631778 Here's another LHD LOL. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/z3/listing/2944690846
  6. Buy in the UK and save a few $$$ https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010024503305?radius=1500&postcode=sw1a2aa
  7. Didn't really miss your point, I was just being a smart ass. They are quite different cars, I understand. I've only had the Z3 a short time so still getting acquainted with it and the shocks are stuffed so can't push it too hard. Where can I get a set of rear Bilsteins cheap? Way off topic now, but where's the cheapest place to buy Bilsteins in NZ? (I will be using the stock springs :-0)
  8. Works for me... PM me.
  9. I can compare them.. I have both cars 🙂 I can find no fault with my 318i rack. The car is a pleasure to drive. I may try to crawl under there and check the rack part number as I'm curious what it is.
  10. Good observation. I'm just trying to decide A purple seems the recommended choice but I am very happy with the rack in my 318i so am thinking of going with one of those which would be, as you observed, stock :-). I don't drive the M3 much but when I do the first thing I notice is the appalling steering wheel movement needed to turn the car (as you pointed out, this M3 rack is known to be the worst). I also have a Z3 and I feel the 318i and the Z3 are very comparable, hence my leaning toward 'stock'.
  11. make an offer.... want them gone... need a steering rack...
  12. I'll second that... wings are stupid on any road car, particularly so on a car that should look 'dignified', not boy racer. Also, I buy my cars for driving, not 'turning heads'. Silly me, I paid the cost of the 'upgrades' for a whole M3!
  13. Thanks. That's a bit more than I expected for such high kms, it must have been in very good condition. The recent asking price for under 200k 1.9 manuals had been around $5k. A good idea to auction it!
  14. The PLMC prices are not really, really unrealistic... if the cars were MANUALS. I'd pay $6k for low km 1996 528i manual. I assume this fellow owns these cars as investments (no financing) if he can hold out this long... and has a no mortgage car lot.
  15. Anyone see what this sold for? I'm curious to know but for some reason TM doesn't show me. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2935915907
  16. Yes, here's another optimistic LHD seller. At least this one is Euro. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m3/listing/2904589446
  17. That's my opinion... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2942251621 It is a USA M... only 240hp, not 320hp... maybe if it had 10k kms on it... I recently bought a stunning Z3 2.8 manual for less than 1/5 of this... with RHD.
  18. How does one acquire the above mentioned software(s)?
  19. I have been driving an 1997 E36 318i Motorsport sedan for 10 years. It's a made in SA car and it's a fantastic car. I am the 2nd owner, the first owner brought it with him from SA. It has no modifications. I recently bought a 1995 M3 sedan and am annoyed to discover that the steering ratio is lower than my 318i. It's not a lot but enough that I noticed right away. Any ideas on why this is? The rack part numbers are different (on realoem.com). Why would they be different? Thanks.
  20. I'm not sure the photo is the best. It was provided by the PO. The PO put the OEMs on and I fully support that decision. I (we) believe for maximum resale value in the future a 'classic' car needs to be un-modified.
  21. H&R Springs for 1995 E36 M3 PRICE $275 Fitted to car June 2016. They were on the car for <20,000 kms. They were removed to fit OEM M3 springs. Will fit 1995 M3 for sure. Will fit other E36 but require large front upper seat from earlier car. See this link https://www.bimmerworld.com/BMW-Upper-Spring-Plate-1995-E36-M3.html I will try to obtain some of these (used) to improve chance of a sale Photo of car is with these springs installed. PM if interested. Located Raglan/Hamilton
  22. Thank heaps! This is what I was expecting and I was hoping you'd find my post. Cheers.
  23. I appreciate your response that system is not for this car. This is a 99 with a DBW system (there is a cable, though ultimately throttle movement is controlled by a computer). It has ASC so to add CC it should be an ECU flash and finding some wires under the dash to connect switches to... I'm speculating. I saw that bmworld car but its almost 3 years ago... I've enquired anyway.
  24. Yesterday I a purchased the below Z3 from a seller on Trademe. 1999 Z3 2.8 manual etc. When the ad on was trademe someone posted in the questions a compliment for the car and that CC could be added to the car easily. Unfortunately the ad is gone and I forgot to take a copy. Anyone know who or how to do this? Thanks.
  25. I know this is old but... I'm looking for the rear console part I need to fit roll bars... I have the roll bars. Also need a set of bilsteins.
