I think many will remember the black/black one in Feb 2020. It was an auction for $20k buy now and incredibly, no one bought it on the first go... how the times have changed. As you have observed, this car has been for sale for at least 2 years. Interestingly, according to carjam, it was only registered in May 2021. But it IS registered so presumably the tax does not apply.

The 96 Byzanz Evo Sedan is back on TM. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3499675862 I nearly bought this car (from a private owner) for $23k two and a half years ago but, perhaps foolishly, felt that 200k km was too high for an investment car, little did I know... Anyway, this dealer bought it and put it up for sale for. $28k (IIRC) at that time. It has had some work done and some repainting, as it had some clear coat issues previously. A bit of an aside, this is 1 of 2 NZ New Evo sedans on TM without sunroofs. I don't understand why anyone would order a special car like this without a sunroof. I come from the northern hemisphere where I have never seen a single E36 M3 without a sunroof.

This car is, to me a joke, or perhaps the dealer is. It's been as low as $45k on 'special' and is now $60k. It's a 'polluted' Evo. IF it was ALL original it would justify a premium price. This is a collector car, not a track car, for max value it needs to be all original (with Bilsteins, of course).

Ok, but in my reading, the tax is on newly imported vehicles. This car is already here and registered so I would think the tax will not apply to it's resale. Am I wrong?

Printed on the sidewall of the tyre is the word 'Thread Wear' and a number... what is that number please. You can see the beginning of the word Tread on the bottom right of the last photo

I can't resist. Right.... a 32 year old car with 111k kms on it.... I'm sure it's been driving in the winter..... NOT! Also, it's very, very cold in Alberta, so cold they don't use salt on the roads, just sand, so even if it was driven it hasn't been exposed to salt.

I'm not a fan of the awful different colour body kit and the adjustable suspension. If that is the factory body kit, then it's awful because it's the wrong colour, strange.
