  1. Been a month of waiting on items from the USA. Decided to give Youshop a go again after a break from them. Big mistake. They send me a notice that customs fees and gst are due, won't tell me how much or how to pay. For an additional $60 they will gain you that privilege, by being your 'broker' LOL LOL get f u c k e d ! Or, you can do it your self. So I did. Send through the required info, then get the automatic reply saying they are a week behind in processing. Wait a week, and still nothing. Grrrrrr. So as we know 1st of December is the 'cut-off' date from avoiding gst and other fees for items < ~$400. So yep, understandable, lots of orders coming in.... No issues with paying the gst, but waiting for 2 weeks for some c**t to process some fees is pretty piss poor.
  2. Couple of pics taken with the iPhone potato
  3. On my touring you can shift the subframe a bit by jacking a wheel up and wiggling on it. Plan to do mine in the next month. Over bumps it's not pleasant.
  4. Seem to hold up pretty well the sedan subframe bush. Can’t say the same for touring.
  5. Good idea but after all the work i’ve done on these seats I am 100% over it.
  6. All cleaned up and fitted. Need to open up the drivers seat control box to fit a new bushing so i can put the recline/headrest button back on, and the switch covers for the thigh support on both seats are missing. Hopefully can find those in the e39 530i msport festering away at pickapart Mangere.
  7. Casually having a stroll through Zebra Onehunga as you do and spotted a standard e39 fitted with black leather Sport seats. Boot and all 4 doors were deadlocked so out with the holesaw again. Leather is fairly good and all the electrics work but god damn were they in a state of filth. The drivers seat smelled of dog, sweat and mildew and the passenger seat was just mainly mildew and old beer smell. Spent a good day of solid dismantling and cleaning of the seats. Used some baking soda and white vinegar to kill off the mould and other gross. Will be letting these air out in the sun for a couple of days before installing.
  8. That just looks like condensation build up mixed in with engine oil. The result of a lot of short running trips. Clean up the nice gouging marks if you want the valve cover to seal.
  9. Had a bit of a hiccup. Didn’t attach the nee expansion tank properly in to the new fan shroud i bought. End result was one of its hoses rubbing on the ac compressor. Had i have not used the ac on the drive back from Hampton downs on the weekend I would have been ok, but good thing I hadn’t used it any more prior to having a look over the maintenance i did. I’ve decided to remove the intake manifold and replace all the plastic crumbly shyte under there along with a new ccv and coolant pipes that fit on to the block. Have noticed some more grunt from doing the vanos seals. Well worth it. Difference between ID and OD of damaged hose is about 5mm. Looks like I might have maybe 1-2mm of rubber left before she bursts. Alot of swearing ensued.
  10. Do u know if it that front belly pan still in tact?
  11. Looks like it has black leather sport seats but they would be impossible to remove with how close they sit the cars next to eachother.
  12. I’m going to have to soon. Ccv hose going in to cam cover snapped in half and the intake boot has a rip in it now.
  13. Got stuck in to sorting the normal m54 maintenance stuff.
  14. Drivers leather seat wiring and buckle successfully swapped out. Gave the interior a good clean out. Don’t think it had been cleaned in years, lots of built up skin oils and filth around all the switches/buttons and handles. Gave it a good clean on the outside too. Years of neglect by the looks with dirt, moss, leaves etc stuck around the corners of the boot door jam and other trims.
  15. Would be just easier to get the ticket clip of gst by the shipping company under the new charges. As mentioned dhl already do this.
  16. Trick for young players... Bought a leather drivers seat with the correct dual stage type yellow harness plug. Fitted the seat and all was well until the airbag light came on for this.. Reset the code but it kept coming back. Turns out that the seat buckle sensor from the leather seat has 3 wires vs the original seat having 2. I believe this was a change from when going from MRS3 to MRS4 (airbag module) which was installed in to e39’s from Feb 01’ onwards. So plan of attack is to fit the entire seat wiring harness and seatbelt stalk/pre-tensioner unit from original seat in to leather seat..
  17. No wouldn't sell just the wheels unless you want to pay for them to be removed. Happy to ship to Wellington if you arrange a shipping company to collect them, I recently bought some wheels and tyres from Wellington and it was $155 + gst. to have them sent up to me.
  18. Yep those balljoints are the same across all e39’s. i’ll Pm ya.
  19. Any one have the tools for hire to remove rear lower ball joints and the rear subframe bushes on an e39 Touring ?
  20. Off an e39. Tyres are Chinesium but should get a wof. Wheels also suitable for 2k cup e36 I believe if you want a wider track. $200
  21. Yeah I was going to get some M sways from a wreck at pickapart but too much hassle for 20% stiffer sway bars. Not really a track car but will get some firmer sway bushes I think.
  22. Front end suspension overhaul all done. Drives alot better and not too crashy with the lowering springs. I lowered the rear using inpa to tune the air bag heights. Started off reading around 615mm (measured from bottom of rim lip to wheel arch) and ended up at around 585mm. M sport rear suspension with 18” wheels is 589mm stock. Fitted the staggered M Pars and got a much needed wheel alignment. Before : After :
