Brake fluid service, WOF and wash on the M5 at Continental BMW. Only $216 and I went and had breakfast while it happened.

Open all the compartments in the boot and check for signs of water, well known issue in these! I also went for the V10, it seems to be one of the more reliable engines they fitted to these !

Nice work, but how will you make steam pudding now?
-

I dont see a problem with any of that..... -
The original injection wasnt electronic, it can be an expensive exercise to get it working properly, I think a new fuel distribution unit is probably a similar price to a Link ecu, they probably could have gotten away with using an e30 318i ecu, but still a bit of work. A pair of twin throat webers is another option, but carbs!

what fuel do you use? my m5 does it as well and i suspect ionic current detection module is dying (or dead) but i don't think yours has one? I find mine seems to come and go with gas from different suppliers, but haven't managed to nail down which one (if any) is causing the issue for sure yet.

E36 318ti gravel car - OE front suspension questions
aja540i replied to Statek's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
The motorsport (non m3) swaybar is a bit thicker and fits with the standard shocks, but if you need new shocks as well changing to the m3 setup makes sense. I suspect that new shocks will also make a huge difference given the mileage. -
You know its going to need work, save the cost of the inspection and spend it fixing it up. Just my 2 cents.

I have one, do you need the drive housing as well or just distributor?

I might try and avoid having a head on collision in my e36....

Tried to txt, Is that number right?

productive long weekend, pulled my custom headers off the e36 and re-routed the pipe for cylinder 2 so it doesnt tap the steering shaft in left hand corners anymore, fitted the purple tag rack and new power steering hose and tie rods, fitted the leather rear side interior trims that have been lying around for a year or so, went to pick a part and got a complete wiring harness to move the battery to the boot, as well as some trims that need replacing, and re-attached the front number plate that fell off !!
-
Yes.

new bilsteins in the front of the e36, sits about 30mm higher now because the old (possibly original) shocks were absolutely knackered, they were pulling the car down by at least 20mm !! Handles better, much less body roll, and only slightly harder ride.
