Too right, missed badly repaired structural rust in the A pillar on a car I recently bought just because it was raining. Got it home, in the garage where it was dry and "ah, sh*t."
-
The only real worry for me would be that rust in the roof. Thats a solid bubble that will probably be a hole if you poked it too hard. I would also be real wary about driving it too far in its current condition, but thats just me. I dont think its ever going to be a "nice" car again, it wouldnt be worth it, but it should be a good work horse/family wagon with some work.

If you do get a space saver also check the wheel bolts are suitable. Some cars run different or shorter bolts for the space saver.
-
I have an AA Plus membership, that's my spare wheel 😅

Followed similar, except it hadnt advanced to sloshing water just oddles of condensation in the lights. Hard to be impressed when even my 13 year old Honda shopping basket has better build quality.
-
I particularly like how they didnt disclose the repaint or replacement engine/trans until someone asked. At that money im sure you'd want matching numbers?
-
Awkward.... 🤣 I didnt even notice it wasnt wearing them in the original photos, i thought the car came with them. Good to know though, silver is no bueno.
-
Car is looking great, but for me is let down by the knockoff faded euro plates. Looking forward the progress updates.
-
Better hope they didnt sweep any rust into the bin. That'll be $$$ off the price if they did.
-
Everything is fixable, its only metal. Repair panels are available (at a cost), and its just welding. You should see what the Brits rebuild, if you think thats bad!
-
I feel like a read somewhere that it was stored under a tarp somewhere damp, hence the rust. TBH seeing what classic Porches are worth, i dont even think that it is "top dollar". Sure, it looks bad, but its all fixable, and its RHD, live rego and rare sportomatic. If i won lotto it'd be in my garage.

Low KM and jap import just do not inspire confidence.... Ignoring that, what has a nearly 30 year old car with 25,000km on the clock been doing for all that time?
-
Ah yes it old mate with the 60k 36m3 with sh*t photos and no description.
-
Not really that much of a surprise. Low KM, minty condition, and rare now because people kept saying they were worse than they are and drove the values into the ground for years.
-
Its quite a handsome car really
-
Shame to see it go, but hope we get to see a thread on the E30 soon
-
sh*t i wouldnt go that far. They sound/look good but dont set the world on fire for performance. In saying that, i enjoyed mine too, despite sinking a bunch of money into it, having it strand me, and then ending up scrapped due to rust.
-
Price is insane, but it is a super rare factory bmw engined model. Super cool. The Q&A is utter cancer though. God people are sh*t.
-
Did you work out what was up with the retaining plate?
-
That car is goddam beautiful. Got to be the best non-M3 E46 in NZ.
-
I love the plate history on that MG though
-
OMG what, that place cant be functioning, surely? Did the owner die or something?
-
And thats why I daily a Honda 🤣 I'd be using over a litre of oil a month!

I've had customers enquire on prices for new cats because they were failed a WOF, so it does happen. Usually makes them shite their pants too at the cost to genuine ones 😂 I do recall looking under the E91 when i had it and unless you knew what you were looking for, the under body trays make it hard to tell its had decat downpipes fitted. The only real giveaway was the shiny stainless pipes.
