TV is back for your E46, E39, E38...
KwS replied to Dogballs's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Its useless to me because i dont have anything with a tuner in it atm, i just wanted to post up and say thanks for doing the research and sharing it on here. This sort of thing is what the forum should be about. Thanks! -
Real prone to leaking oil, but not sure if they are that common to actually fail. Worth a look though.
-
The listing has finished now, but as per the pics above, does the black one have a super sweet leather center console?
-
Is that the constant pressure valve? If it is, it resides under the exhaust manifold towards the rear of the block, on the side.
-
HDR is all the rage bro
-
Bloody stunning, both color and condition.
-
So, to sum it all up, the best oil to use is an oil that isnt available here.

To my knowledge the only magnatec available in NZ is semi-synth, no fully synthetic. This is backed up by the Castrol NZ site not listing an full synthetic version. http://www.castrol.com/en_nz/new-zealand/car-engine-oil/engine-oil-brands/castrol-magnatec-brand/magnatec-product-page.html My S50B30 loved Valvoline Synpower 5W-40. Much happier on that than the Motul that was in it when i got it.

God that sounds similar to the Jatco jerk the old E36s got.... hopefully its nothing as serious as that. Im not familiar with the trans in them, but can you check/clean/test the shift solenoids?
-
ugh, those speakers on the door cards

+1 to if the subframe isnt cracked, then it is normal. Mine leaned to the RH side a bit too (although not as much as yours). The time i spent on M3 forums when i had mine showed a lot of cars leant that way, and many people discussed how to correct it (with spring pads as Dave mentioned).
-
It cleaned up well, as expected, but i too wonder how the seats will last considering how bad they looked before. Not a major though if it goes cheap enough. Wish i had the disposable cash to place a bid, i still dream of owning an E39 M5 one day, but the longer i leave it, the higher the prices.

Crazy supercharged 2008 E92 M3!! Heavily modded ... $100K
KwS replied to TermiPeteNZ's topic in TradeMe discussions
Take off the stickers and stripes and sh*t, paint the bonnet body color and it would be an awesome "not quite a sleeper because still M3" sleeper. That is a hell of a lot of money though, and IIRC it was imported from Japan with all the gofast bits already on it. -
Awesome, will be following this. The price of those S8 are coming down steadily, and they are a lot of car, tech and power for the money.
-
Its pushing the limits of my memory, but it was a known thing on the interwebs. Im sure if you chuck E36 door microswitch into google it should clarify it a bit.
-
I freaking love the look of Andys vert. Please keep quoting it
-
Also check the window is dropping when the handle is lifted. If its not, the microswitch in the catch might be faulty.

its like the special "Schnizter" registered cars running around with nothing but a badge on the back. I think we need more training or testing for whoever is responsible for entering these details, so they actually know what the car is, not just what the badge on the back says.
-
This. Trademe harvests the details from the rego, so whoever entered the car details when it was originally imported is to blame. They also use some sort of listing software, so it probably just filled in the blanks in the listing too. Its like the old registered date vs build date again.
-
Lovely looking car, but bugger that, i want your garage!
-
Oh man, what a car!

Spray half a can into the intake with engine off. Let it sit, then start engine, spray into intake with engine running. The problem is they are a direct injected engine, meaning unlike a port injection engine there is no fuel being sprayed at the valve to keep it clean. Most manufacturers have this issue, including Mitsubishi GDI and VW TFSI.

Its just more scaremongering by the media. Whats the point in all this, and then just saying "ask your dealer about it"? Thats not helpful.

BMW M5 1999 Silverstone Blue - First sold in NZ apparently
KwS replied to TermiPeteNZ's topic in TradeMe discussions
Very nice, and reliable cars though Euros. Had two myself in the past.
