This is an opinion You'll need to do some gaurd work to put on big boy tyres(225's are a tight fit)I'd use spacers

Options for m50 tuning
thorburn replied to thorburn's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
I'm sure there are options in nz for remapping a turbo'd m50 on a stock ecu as well Why do you say a downgrade? I agree but would still like to hear your reasoning My thoughts are you will loose closed loop knock control. Changing from maf to map wont be great for everyone. Not sure what else you'll loose. I think the benefits for na m50 would be greater access to tuners and datalogging. Depending on how many additional inputs you get this might not be overly useful. Also to get a nicer idle if your one of those people with a few throttles Not sure what the price difference will be between a remap and this + tune edit:I was way too slow ITB's can be run through a maf sensor. Have a look at dbilas kits(nice hardware too bad they don't have the software to match) Storm ecu's don't support knock control -
Surely this will lead to good things. Thought I should mention it because it hasn't really been advertised.

air, fuel and correctly timed spark Do your valves all still exist? Is your cam timing correct? Are your spark plugs firing? Are you getting fuel?

thats one lucky ti. What and where is the 6 speed from
-
Are you doing them by hand or on the car lathe? Looking good.

Is it happening in every gear? If so i'd say it'd be the clutch not completely releasing

Does the boss kit fit to e36's with airbags? How does the offset compare to the standard e36 steering wheel position

in the url type in 'linear' where it says 'threaded' I'm sure there are other ways to do it but this way works for me

That's quite a parts list you've got there. Best of luck with the sale. Some pictures would surely be a big help

Depends completely on how you design it Your not going to gain or loose much either way unless your pumping hot air

E30 WTB/WTS/information needed/wanted/general discussion
thorburn replied to flake's topic in Want to buy
The only hard bit is buying the parts for it. Shims and clutches are quite pricey. Part numbers are in my build thread somewhere -drain oil -Pull output shafts -Unbolt endplate -Unbolt sides. MARK THESE AND THE SHIMS so they don't get mixed up from left to right. This is pretty much the only thing you can mess up -Pull out sides while supporting the lsd case and ring gear -Pull apart lsd. If you loose track of what order things go in theres a pic in my build thread of the order. I'll have a look around for the exact torque settings and what the tolerances should be inside the lsd. -

What do you need to know about rebuilding the lsd? I think i've got one of the cushions that fits in part 13(unless i've tossed it). Not worth anything to me so if I find it you can have it. -
Correctly is a loose term. It really depends on what you mean by correctly. They will fit with narrowish tyres and rolled gaurds. Shouldn't need any added camber. You'll also need hubcentric rings Just noticed it's for a ti. So i'm not sure of how they'll fit on the back. There are enough photos of ti's on style 5's so can't be too hard The way your car handles will change

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...923&ed=true relisted cheaper

If it isn't magnetic i'd use a tig edited because I'm still learning to read
-
I'll modify it for you on the cheap if it is a problem Is your boot being held down with pins as well? I'd like to copy your e30 window winder trick. Does the gear from the e30 winder mesh fine with the e36 window stuff(can't think of word)

I really did not notice the minus until you pointed it out. I just thought it was a dash. I gave the guy a bell earlier and we have sorted out a better deal. $450 for the lot will keep me happy. I'd say I was definately in the wrong on this one. Should have cleared up what I was bidding on. If anyone wants to buy a w111 2.3l engine it's going cheap
-
I'm the buyer. I just want the supercharger and to flick off the engine for cheap. I'll have a check over the engine. The engine is from a 2000 slk230 with 70,000k. As long as the oil isn't black i don't think it'll be in too bad shape. Although that photo isn't doing it any favours. Plan is to load engine and supercharger into car then give him the $400. I can't imagine he'll be able to do much about the extra money he thinks he can get. Does anyone not think this plan is fair?
-
Cheers all Anyone know of anywhere that will buy such an engine? for cheap now.
-
Yea I should know better Was too tempted by the price. I'll have a call around tomorrow and see what the engine is really worth

No supercharger or "intercoola" Although I can buy them for extra What to do?
