  1. are you planning to use the car track only? or daily road duty as well as the odd track day?
  2. total body shop supplies, Victoria St in Petone. Make sure you give them the year of the vehicle as there is most likely revisions (I know there were three revisions for Calypsotrot....)
  3. it might have gone to the setting that many Singapore imports have, press the unlock button once to unlock the drivers door only, press it twice to unlock all the doors.
  4. Fkn Manheim website, requires a number, a little letter, a big letter and a character, Which after forgetting my password again, all i want to enter is characters *)(^(&^@#$!!!!
  5. none of which have real world use. BMW and everyone else test a car all they like in the so called real world but its all still a Lab. you can't simulate real world use correctly, and is why there are common issues on every car made that aren't picked up and addressed during testing
  6. about 1.5m of 20mm hose is really all i need to get it done properly now. tried using the BMW hoses cutting and shortening and some t pieces and things on advise of a friend and while i appreciate the help its just a total balls up that won't last 5 minutes on the track so I'm going to do it a different way. could go catch can route but rather have an internally plumbed system i never have to think about. I also recall from 5 years ago that if an engine has emissions stuff its supposed to retain it when doing an engine conversion in a road car to pass cert, however no idea how factual that is, and if it is how hard they adhere to that. either way, a self sufficient system i don't have to think about can only be a good thing.
  7. crankcase must be into the intake either directly, via a PCV system, or via a catch can. Have just gone through this, am using a PCV off an E39 M5, its the most compact of all the designs, and the stock M52 one is not easily able to be used. Would like to know where people are finding 20mm or 25mm hose to use to plumb it up though. Tried HCD (hose specialist) as well as Supercheap, Repco and BNT and they all glazed over and had nothing suitable. HCD came close but wall thickness was far too high and not flexible enough. Super cheap and Repco couldn't even supply when i told them think of what you would use for a catch can....

Here we go again on your thread
  9. to give them their beans, the low rent coilovers have their place in other markets around the world, and when you have a shitty 1.4L FWD Golf overall performance isn't really at the top your priority list anyway. But here where we have certs, just a waste of time buying sh*t sets, even if your vehicle is like the above. Yellowspeed/XYZ/BC Gold etc all have the spring rate set independent from the ride height, and have adjustable shocks (XYZ have Koni shocks inside, not sure about the others). the cheap as chips one set the ride height at the same time as setting spring compression, what this means is softer spring rate to get lower, the downside of course being the lower you go the more shocking the handling.
  10. kinda surprised BMW AG didn't buy it back for research purposes etc.
  11. I have yellowspeeds in my race car and quite good, $1200 retail. My mate is the importer of you want to get in touch
  12. ill get used to it. Have had to change my name too but no major drama if you follow Pauls instructions above. Signatures are not showing up for me though Thanks for your time admining the site as always James
  13. very good! are the schnitzers in your first picture 16s or 17s?
  14. i mean to say new old stock, not newly by the way, Mac autocorrects too much some times
  15. yes but a corolla can do all of that and better at it. the compact doesn't bring anything useful to the table until its engine dies and you put a 6 cylinder in and rip out the interior. unfortunately, after that it still looks like a compact

have an alpine white coupe 318 auto just been repainted including colour matching the bumpers (they did forget the mirrors tho.) comes with tech1 wing but otherwise standard
  17. i don't offer any warranty on electrical parts as they are 20+ years old now and possible to die at any point. if you had just spent $100 on a new unit to find your temp sender doesn't work and the brake light switch is faulty etc all very easy to make up a story. I only offer warranty on mechanical parts including engines when installed by a professional. Again, very easy for someone that doesn't know what they are doing to bolt terminals back to front, or install a part wrong, to come back with a claim. Not to say professionals can't do that, but less likely.
  18. hard thing to give a warranty on, there are a lot of connections on it, any one of which could have failed, let alone the retrofit kits
  19. finished the suspension/brake upgrade on the compact last night, took it for a test drive this morning put 60kms on it, and then back in the shed to install an M50 intake manifold onto it
  20. i think Milland will sell you the wire and cups/boots to make up your own. an auto sparky might be able to as well. think new genuine was 600 a side?? and will be newly stock i would have thought
  21. Both of which is too much work for some people, which is why car dealers exist.
  22. thanks for your PM Richard, not really after another at the moment, have an M60 in the shed with no home for it as it is! Cheers Andy
  23. Julian, if you have the gear, and are telling them how to do it, then why not do it yourself and save your self some coin? Clearly, paying them because you don't have the time is not a factor, as you have time to post up your cry here. Thread locked. Happy to unlock and or tidy up if needed.
