  3. I'm sure i can match something up for you. I have 6x E36s on my lawn at the moment.
  4. will be very interesting to see a series of cars that started out all the same but have had different walks of life over the past 15 years. would be good to log not only the power output put also SMG or normal manual, and also diff ratio if there was variations by year. maybe even log the rear wheel and/or tyre size as well. Ron (3pedals) may have some other useful data inputs also worth recording. Im in the neighbourhood, heading back to Wellington on Saturday, so may pop in for a nosey at the early sessions.
  5. i have found that too Olaf. I only use Penrite as well, the only brand i have used that comes out after 10,000km in a state I am happy with. Use it for all the cars in the work fleet as well as my own fleet.
  6. isn't the M3 coupe only as well (and hence not 5 seats)
  7. Love the front picnic tables in the E38, looks factory... maybe it is??? haven't seen it before
  8. are you planning to use the car track only? or daily road duty as well as the odd track day?
  9. total body shop supplies, Victoria St in Petone. Make sure you give them the year of the vehicle as there is most likely revisions (I know there were three revisions for Calypsotrot....)
  10. it might have gone to the setting that many Singapore imports have, press the unlock button once to unlock the drivers door only, press it twice to unlock all the doors.
  11. Fkn Manheim website, requires a number, a little letter, a big letter and a character, Which after forgetting my password again, all i want to enter is characters *)(^(&^@#$!!!!
  12. none of which have real world use. BMW and everyone else test a car all they like in the so called real world but its all still a Lab. you can't simulate real world use correctly, and is why there are common issues on every car made that aren't picked up and addressed during testing
  13. about 1.5m of 20mm hose is really all i need to get it done properly now. tried using the BMW hoses cutting and shortening and some t pieces and things on advise of a friend and while i appreciate the help its just a total balls up that won't last 5 minutes on the track so I'm going to do it a different way. could go catch can route but rather have an internally plumbed system i never have to think about. I also recall from 5 years ago that if an engine has emissions stuff its supposed to retain it when doing an engine conversion in a road car to pass cert, however no idea how factual that is, and if it is how hard they adhere to that. either way, a self sufficient system i don't have to think about can only be a good thing.
  14. crankcase must be into the intake either directly, via a PCV system, or via a catch can. Have just gone through this, am using a PCV off an E39 M5, its the most compact of all the designs, and the stock M52 one is not easily able to be used. Would like to know where people are finding 20mm or 25mm hose to use to plumb it up though. Tried HCD (hose specialist) as well as Supercheap, Repco and BNT and they all glazed over and had nothing suitable. HCD came close but wall thickness was far too high and not flexible enough. Super cheap and Repco couldn't even supply when i told them think of what you would use for a catch can....

Here we go again on your thread
  16. to give them their beans, the low rent coilovers have their place in other markets around the world, and when you have a shitty 1.4L FWD Golf overall performance isn't really at the top your priority list anyway. But here where we have certs, just a waste of time buying sh*t sets, even if your vehicle is like the above. Yellowspeed/XYZ/BC Gold etc all have the spring rate set independent from the ride height, and have adjustable shocks (XYZ have Koni shocks inside, not sure about the others). the cheap as chips one set the ride height at the same time as setting spring compression, what this means is softer spring rate to get lower, the downside of course being the lower you go the more shocking the handling.
  17. kinda surprised BMW AG didn't buy it back for research purposes etc.
  18. I have yellowspeeds in my race car and quite good, $1200 retail. My mate is the importer of you want to get in touch
  19. ill get used to it. Have had to change my name too but no major drama if you follow Pauls instructions above. Signatures are not showing up for me though Thanks for your time admining the site as always James
