  1. plus one, leave it like that. I like a good chunky tyre.
  2. link not working for me, is it working for others? maybe its because i am on my MacBook.
  3. 535i is not available in a wagon Paul, all wagons are facelift so M50 or M60 engines.
  4. wow you still got that car, its been in the fold for a bloody long time! i have it on a 2010 bimmersport calendar in the other room
  5. are you sure those seat adaptors will fit both E30 and E36? the bolt pattern is totally different between the two, and your link indicates E36 only.
  6. i have driven that exact E34, and i have driven a 6 speed E39 540 as well though not in touring form. The E39 is the better all round car when new, as is to be expected from a successive model. E34 has held up a lot better over time which much less to go wrong, no complicated stereo or early stages of can bus type systems, EDC to go wrong, not to mention pixels dropping out, and their worst issue being the ABS issues they have, none of which affect the E34. E34 Touring have well documented issues with the dual sunroof, as well as the tailgate loom issues shared with most BMW wagons the older ones anyways. For both of them have a good look at the suspension, more than anything else this will define the car over all. they are both heavier cars and do wear bushes and shocks etc. E34s and E39s need not feel like the boats people say they do now when they are all new. I had my V12 E34 Touring dancing better than many E30s and E36s could. Budget for around the 1500 mark to install all new ball joints and bushings front and rear if no maintenance work has been done. E39 does have much better rear suspension system. I had my V12 E34 Touring dancing better than many E30s could. As for the V8s themselves, i have little experience with them, so will leave the comments on them to others. They are the same engine in both, i believe the E34 has been remapped so being lighter and with more horses.... You can see what my preference is! Have kept my preferences for looks out of it, as that is for you to decide
  7. well there is your problem. I have some minty TRXs here, i am using them as a stand for my emergency water tank, too dangerous driving on 15 year old tyres and i ethically will not sell sh*t tyres be they crap brand or dated. just a pet peeve i have i guess. keeping a car original is fine, but tyres are the one exception even on a classic.
  8. front won't work. rear probably will.
  9. i have a mint black headliner for one of these for non-sunroof coupe, can come with all the bits, if you are interested to tidy the car up. Also have a kit for sunroof sedan too.
  10. Cats out the bag on the new BM World build!?
  11. are you sure you have 325i E30 axles? i have been advised they will not work they are wrong length, but haven't tried personally. in any case if the OP is using the stock E36 compact diff with a centre in it then the E30 axles won't bolt up either. if fitting medium case diff best to source from a Z3
  12. probably won't gain much speed top speed changing ratio as will take you longer to get there? ill have a 3.6 open available soon if that is of interest. will have E30/E28 output shafts if they do prove to be different to compact.
  13. how is this one? Non cabby specific. just coupe ones. Stock E30 drop hats and spring pads in the front, pretty sure no spring pads in the back (had to to level it up), and bear in mind they are 16" wheels with oversize 55 profile tyres (e36 size) which both make the car higher off the ground, and also tuck the tyre more. My 2 cents, Not much handling gain to be had from a cabby unless you start installing chassis braces under the car etc which all adds weight, they are pushing 1400kg as it is, quite lardy. combined with a lazy M20 they aren't really a sports car so i would and have focused on the look more than any handling gain. Any "better" spring would really be wasted on a cabby. they are a lot more flex to them a coupe, you can tell when you jack it up or driving along and go over manhole cover etc.
  14. not sure if you need to change over output shafts, my diff was from a Z3, and i haven't checked the compatibility between the two. i drove mine with the 4.45 in it for a little bit, 1st and 2nd all but useless and 3000rpm in 5th at 50kph wow. i don't know how you can deal with it. i guess just use it like a 2 speed start off in 3rd and go straight to 5th.
  15. i can't see no E36, just a sh*t box camaro with finger tight bolts. although might have to remember that paper towel trick...
  16. no, but thats for tuning my mind, they look good! they will be raced on so hopefully they are up to the same quality? not too bothered about text
  17. the diff in my compact used to bang around under power but then went to poly and completely ruled out. im assuming you have also modified the floor a little bit for clearance as is required when fitting a medium case into a Ti
  18. Looking for some BBS RC302 wheels like the picture must be 17 inch and 5x120. any offset considered Cheers Andy
  19. +1 power flex I dont see any advantage to non oem engine and gearbox bushes. diff needs one tho as its an important connection point for the rear suspension. Dont forget your sway bar bushings as well!
  20. i have a 318ti at home that is reged as a 318i
  21. can do all of that, all surplus from my current personal project an alpine white coupe.
  22. in my experience in many different E30s over the years, Kings both super low and low are steaming piles of garbage, and i rate them lower than jamex. i found exactly the same thing as you, barely usable on a road car, especially anything with a bit of balls like an 325i or an M52 swap etc. jamex are about the same as cobra, vogtland etc. do the job they are designed to do, look the part and do provide an increase in handling performance over stock. I ran Jamex front and rear on my racer for a while. ran out of brakes a long time before i ran out of any handling. i run eibach springs in my E30 cabby and they do well, hard to say exactly since the body is decidedly soggy being a soft top anyways. the best setup i have run short of coil overs is H and R cup springs with bilstein sport shocks. had this in my E30 M52 i built 6 or 7 years ago E36 rear springs will also work in the E30, i think the fronts will too if you have 51mm struts. they are quite a bit stiffer, so to get the same height you need to remove the spring pads, even then might not be low enough. most of the lowering comes from how soft the springs are, the lower you go the softer the springs, its just how they work so they remain captive at full extension. if handling is more important than looks, you could look to do this. I have a few options available if needed both E30 and E36 stuff etc.
  23. the colour combo on your shoes also in keeping with the 1980s theme
