Concur with @NZ BMW on the DEF equipped ones ('BluePerformance') with the second filler beneath the fuel cap - will be horrendous to sort when they have an issue - They are a recipe for trouble. F3x is a great chassis otherwise though.

Be interesting to see what this goes for - can't actually remember seeing an m-sport Jap import 335i for sale. My pick is $34k. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/335i/listing/2935958299

@Jacko there are two driven obnoxiously by spotty teenagers down my street. 'nuff said.
-
@Driftit After my previous experiences with Winger I wouldn't be in a massive rush to spend more money with them. Hopefully Continental Cars can do better, although no change in staff as I understand it.
-
I wouldn't touch any cars from that outfit with a 400ft bargepole @sobanoodle

That Estoril blue one looks the best of those ones IMO. 10-15k km difference in mileage probably not too important...
-
The downside of the sport is that ghastly red trim accent on the japanese ones...

The pre-LCI NZ new m-sport 116i are probably the sweet spot for spec - most had 6WA / Xenons / F+R PDC though no big screen nav if you think that matters. Edition 30 as @qube says are nice too. Be aware that most JPN market cars didn’t have cruise as standard. Engine seems sound but some had issues with timing chain and turbo heat shield rattle.

A certain Hawkes Bay based roading outfit makes that quite unsurprising...

Saying something when you can get S65's in them...
-
Chipseal on high traffic roads seems like a false economy (especially when you need to redo it in 12 months) but even tarmac is hard to get right judging by the Kapiti expressway...

I didn't use the dealer but it wasn't for want of trying. Was going to use Winger in Wellington but it wasn't worth 4 figures to me to update it 🙄 Coombes Johnston in Hamilton and Hawkes' Bay BMW quoted a much more reasonable price - PM me if you want details for self-updating. I think Carplay requires new hardware for pre-mid 2016 build cars Also not technically something done to my car, but joined NZ BMW Car Club! 😎

Got in there early and updated the Navigation! 😁

Nice Le Mans blue E39 M5 at Qtown Airport
-
@treone that's a sizeable fuel tank!
-
The extra torque from the I6 diesel is great for these bigger cars, M5 excepted they aren't sporty...
-
Those rear brakes look tiny for a 400hp sedan with a V8 in the front!
-
Concur - they've been some way off experience I've had with CJ in Hamilton / Tauranga. Don't think any of the staff have changed though.
-
Nah I'll take the V8 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2902045342?bof=fpvQzkk7or the I6 diesel https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/530d/listing/2904515958 - not on 20's either thanks. Illegal plate too...

Ended up behind the pre-LCI twin of mine at the Vivian St/SH1 lights today, think the driver spotted me...
-
regional differences in badging - pre-LCI 120i in other markets had a 2L 4cyl, in Japan it was an uprated version of the N13 in the 116i.

@Driftit yeah N62 in the E6x well known for valve stem seal issues. I think the main issue with the N63 is that it runs super hot (hot-V twin turbo) and because the US has lots of suburban driving with not much coasting (lots of fans running on full) , they were running through batteries rapidly because the alternator only recharges the battery on the overrun. I did a quick google and apparently there were only ever a single figure number of F11 550i Tourings in RHD in the UK. I need to do some more research...
-
As someone who'd love an Alpina B5 touring, this looks mighty appealing, even taking into account the dreadful rep the N63 V8 has. Never seen one of these advertised before... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2902045342?bof=RsXHG1Kk

EfficientDynamics is BMW-speak for a group of CO2 reducing functions: idle start-stop, brake energy regeneration etc. Haven't seen it on the F2x models so assume you're looking at an E87...

Yep OEM double slats are M-car only. Not my thing but they're reasonably subtle (as @qube says way better than the gopping tricolour grilles on X-series cars)
