  1. My sense is the diesel torque suits the trucks better than the N55 (they're not sporty) - but 3-5k pays for a lot of extra gas...
  2. Same N57 engine as the 40d F15 - check the oil service intervals on these (30k km / 2 years isn't ideal IMO)
  3. I guess I shouldn’t expect better from a main dealer but failed warrant on wipers that were <1 year old and perfectly functional so they could sell me a new pair 🙄
  4. I'm gonna go have a look I think
  5. @SmithyInWelly Back again at $1 reserve https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2983614124?bof=waiSNWFg
  6. I love this description. Sums up these people so well...
  7. @lord_jagganath don't come to Wellington though. it's even worse than Auckland...
  8. 'I'm awake in a world of mind controlled sheep' 🙄 QAnon here we come...
  9. If there’s not something seriously wrong with this I’d be very surprised. Might be a good purchase if it’s not borked though (the license plate says everything you need to know about the seller...) https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2982373184.htm
  10. A small but satisfying task - coded the PDC off with trailer attached
  11. Wonder what the hierarchy of desirability is - if buying to store / resell later, would a lower number of owners be as important as NZ new? My sense is that RHD rare beemers in NZ are often sold to overseas buyers as the market here is so small...
  12. @E30 325i Rag-Top 🤔 I assume any car with the option of a manual comes like that on the option sheet (the first 'option' is S205 automatic transmission). manual trans soon to be a thing of the past I guess...
  13. Looks pretty good - nice spec for NZ new with 18's, xenon's and the 125kw engine tune (rather than 100kw on the 116i). would check service history (timing chains can be problematic with 2yr/30k km oil service interval) and turbo heat shield can rattle. replacement run flats will be ~$500 / corner. worth noting it didn't come from factory with leather seats. 14. Estoril / Oyster with a 3L inline 6 😍
  15. I cannot believe that 1) someone at bmw signed off on that rear wing 2) you’d pay 27k (or even 1/4 of that) to put it all on your (actually rather tasteful) M3 😔 https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2967906478.htm
  16. @leichtbau I didn't notice rims, it's a japanese import though.
  17. @leichtbau looks very nice nonetheless (speaking as someone who doesn't like red cars). that dealer has great stock, all seems to sell too.
  18. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/320i/listing/2958333786 not sure if this is in budget (or you want a diesel). for day to day driving the torque of the 320d is effortless. plus it's an LCI facelift.
  19. White E46 M3 on Customhouse Quay this evening (parked) - got a great look at it due to terrible Wellington traffic.
  20. Make sure you add a showroom topic for it @sobanoodle
  21. Probably not in a 2013 @qube. Pretty sure the 523 is actually a 520i rebadged for jap market so will be the N20.
  22. Would go 18 inch wheels if possible on the f30 (assuming passive suspension). Try bimmer.work to decode the VIN
  23. Welcome Grant. The N20 in these cars (assume they’re both a 2L turbo) seems a better engine than previous BMW 4 cyl efforts (oil leaks / timing chain wise). Check for service history - BMW engines don’t love deferred maintenance. The 523 may feel a bit gutless, 328i with 180kw will feel quite peppy. Budget $350-400 for main dealer oil change and $2k for a new set of 18” run flats
  24. https://www.interest.co.nz/opinion/108867/terry-baucher-looks-some-taxation-ramifications-climate-change-commissions-draft If this govt want to be 'transformative', this would be a good place to start. 78% of new vehicles are utes or SUV's...
