My understanding is the Japanese nav system is more involved to convert than the UK version, which essentially involves uploading a different map. Eurosurgeon did mine (UK import). Keep in mind that BMW online nav map updates won't be able to be done unless the dealer codes the vehicle. I am going to get that done with mine provided the cost isn't exorbitant. It is possible to setup Connected Drive via BMW NZ (form attached below) change-owner-form.pdf

Agree that is nice. Also spotted this lovely (but absurdly overpriced) Individual 760Li. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2672377374.htm Guess in Singapore (and maybe Japan) they might be a bit more common given how expensive cars are there anyway, an extra $10k SGD is a drop in the bucket. Hardly any ex-UK with individual interior...

Estorilblau ?

thanks @Olaf - I suspect that Elite have got someone in to do it, which may have been Airflowe (as that was who they suggested if I wanted to take full respray of front bumper option). Good to have choices though!

For the follow-up: Elite Detailing on Hania St sorted a quick, high quality and reasonably priced job (pic attached). Would recommend.

Blue / caramel interior E39 M5 spotted on SH1 southbound in J'ville around lunchtime today. Looked very nice - Euro plate with BM as first two letters. Didn't get much of a look at it, was long gone once got past the speedcamera in Ngauranga gorge. Belong to anyone on here?

People in red cars who can't park ?
-
Any suggestions? Some idiot in a red car has taken quite a bit of paint off my front bumper - would like to avoid claiming insurance if possible.
-
Yes this is possible. There is a form to complete and email to BMW NZ (attached below). The functionality on pre-idrive 5 (~2017) vehicles is pretty disappointing so don't go in with high expectations, the integration with phone app is much better on newer cars change-owner-form.pdf

Anyone think this is suss?

You might want to hand back your petrolhead credentials preferring a turbo 4 to an NA inline 6...

Current gen runflats (eg. Bridgestone S001) are a couple of orders of magnitude less harsh than my previous car (Bridgestone RE050) - I'm sure the tire tech has improved in the last 10 yrs

Nice looking colour combo - might be nicer on OEM wheels but could be a good buy. Wonder whether it might be slightly under-engined with the 2L. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2628923879?bof=iYopQFZF

@Gaz fully agree - the market for 'high k's' F10 M5's is small in a normal economic situation and miniscule at present, thinking there's a high chance this'll end up $1 reserve or fixed

50mm Westfalia detachable ball head to suit F30/F31 - I suspect suits a bunch of other models too. Comes with keys. Happy to send anywhere or collection in Wellington

Demontweeks / Parcelforce delays
balancerider replied to Sammo's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
For sure they are battling - my item was 'redirected' then 'delayed' after 12 days, then randomly showed up at the original address ?♂️ -
Yours @Mikan? I thought it might have been a Bimmersporter's (well looked after!) - @qube used to be yours?

Nice black E39 touring
-
Vertical load on the one that's on there atm is 75kg.
-
If it's the standard Westfalia detachable you can buy a tongue type bar with swappable 50mm + 1 7/8" ball with a flat surface to mount a bike rack on. I've just bought one from Coombes Johnston

N57 generally reviewed as being sound (much better than the 4 cyl N47) although some reports of broken timing chains on the 6's as well. RUC's are $72/1000k now.

3 series sedans are SA. Wagons have always been ex-Germany as far as I'm aware
-
My understanding is that non-UK RHD sedans have been sourced from SA since E36 series. Seems like you're correct about the N signifier on the VIN as well.
