  1. Fascinating. I guess there is only so much oil can do when dealing with a 11 year old well used machine that has the most race like engine in a 'common' road car. It would be interesting to see how good one of these engines would be if perfectly treated very time it was warmed up, driven, had oil changes etc.
  2. How many layers of the bearing had been worn down? Looks like a few!
  3. Michael.

    M TOY M3

Hahaha I knew you'd go back soon enough
  4. Does seem overpriced. Red valve cover and red brake calipers are a bit of a RED flag for me. Wonder what other stuff is on it that shouldn't be!
  5. Can you do a Toyota engine in one? ?
  6. Yours is DCT, more fancy! No doubt they are both good. Great modern conversion.
  7. Whoa that LS460 behind though!
  8. But what about the global warming? :p
  9. Installed an Apexi Neo AFC to dial in some fuel corrections today. Making good power before the tune, peak of 177rwkw, but the low end was a bit poor so the tuner put in some more fuel down low and got a decent 10rwkw gain through most of the low to mid range! Now with a peak of 178.1 rwkw, so very pleased. Certainly pulls well in the lower rpm band.
  10. Fancy. Do you just need a DME update to run no cats?
  11. Yeah, part of the smartphone like era cars have entered into in recent years. But apparently it's cool to have super reflective screens, riddled with smudges rather than, intuitive, tactile buttons.
  12. Interior looks lovely! What was the bill from OCD for stage 3? Eye watering I'm sure :p
  13. Couldn't help but find it has too much stuff on another wise nice package Gesture interface controls? Massive red padels on the wheel? Touch sensitive seat controls? I like technology but not when its layered so much to the point of why is it there, but oh thats right its mostly a game against each other manurfacture to play top trumps with the pointless featurelist. At least it sounds better than the last version, and is impressively fast. Exterior styling best since E39 perhaps too? But I think an E39 M5 is still hard to beat as far as value, manual gearbox, S62 and a nice blend of old and new technologies, nothing over done. Pre idrive too!
  14. Just random car people on youtube, can cure my need for external car videos. But I realise that offers a niche appeal.
  15. Wow sign me up for a test drive! Sound as good as I imagine it would be considering the engine, trans, car weight and balance etc, how could it go wrong! Especially cool as it looks like a nice, yet unsuspecting mums car, a sleeper is always a fun toy.
  16. To be honest there's so much online car content these days you can pick and choose something that is more to the point and interests you directly. A lot of the top gear / gran tour stuff is extremely tedious and scripted, with stunts and tricks 5 to 95 year olds will like. It's certainly not a formula that appeals to me these days. While it was much the same (but better) in the early 2000s, it was at a time when the internet wasn't as big, allowing it to be one of the few car entertainment shows that offered what it did, I remember loving it then!
  17. That 10 tenth oil is decent. Good specs, high ZDDP content which is usually around half of those levels in other oils. The reason other oils don't have as much is due to the catalytic converters, if you don't use those, high ZDDP oil all the way.
  18. Ew is this show still dying a slow death haha.
  19. Anymore pictures of your DIY engine holder made of wood? Loooks interesting!
