  1. Feels like a realistic market value price to me. All these people asking 40+ are dreaming these days.
  2. Just added security really but speeding tickets are mostly just luck in my experience. I had zero demerit points from nearly 3 years then i had 55 in a couple of months. Most of my tickets are from going slightly over the limit especially after passing, it may of saved me from that but as above its situational dependent. Value for money its far better value than most tech devices given it still performs its job for a long time without being obsolete.
  3. Basically lots of tweaks, custom name on start up etc. Its a donation ($20 at the time for me) and he will send you the firmware file type deal. R7 is probably the model id buy if i was buying one today Mithheru is the guy and here is his latest R7 firmware thread - https://www.rdforum.org/threads/124085/
  4. Sreten would probably never go to the level of detail you have gone to given all his other projects etc. He does good work but certainly a lot of things he doesn't do optimally which i noticed in his E46 builds.
  5. Im still using my R3 with custom firmware from the NZ guy in RD forums. Only problem it doesnt go low enough in the K band range to pickup speed camera vans reliably, otherwise not really far behind the top of the line models on Ka band. Paid about $400 landed at the time when it was a new model so good bang for buck i think compared the newer stuff.
  6. If you can get a reputable vehicle valuer to value it for that then im sure you could. Downside is the premiums i suppose.
  7. Yep waste of time and money for what you have done. Insurance purposes are the only good reason to have it that i can think of.
  8. If i didnt have a E46 already it would be mine by now.

    Quick rant thread.

Maybe there is slight variance between E46 and E90 hub and\or wheel face thickness. Least you can just chuck the old bolts back on after cert and call it a day.
  10. Adding rear toe\camber adjustment plates to subframe, front bump steer spacers (if lowered), replacing all suspension bushings, then finding the right springs and dampers to suit you requirements would be most of it. Maybe a specialist can help with that last one, but these are old cars with limited product selection these days so finding someone with specific E34 setup knowledge and getting parts isnt easy as it once was.

I checked my E46 - about 6.8 turns from torqued. Yeah 30mm bolts would be ideal but finding stuff like this in NZ is always a challange and expensive.

Ive got some cheap extended ones for 15mm spacers if you want to cut them down to whatever.
  13. What software are you using the scan it? OBD2 port under the dash i assume?. If i was doing it id clean the MAF, probably the throttle body and ICV, smoke test for vacuum leaks and put back on an airbox

    E21

Interesting to see what it goes for. E21 323i's were a ~2k car for what seemed like ages and not sort after. I guess the appeal is its not an E30 and cheaper to buy maybe?.
  15. Paint and bumpers look rough as, must of been a hard 161,000km

Yeah that's pretty much me the first time - 1.5 day of no energy then mostly fine. This time (if it was covid) was flu symptoms for nearly 1 week, the first 3 days being the worst. Now after 2 weeks still feel like i have impaired lungs.
  17. Mike who used to be a member on here maybe another option too - https://www.facebook.com/soarersurgeon/ I know he repairs other stuff
  18. I dont see anyone buying it for 40k either but at least there is some merit to the pricing, not your typical buy\hold\sell or heavily aesthetics bias owners like most of these overpriced listings. Unless he's failed to mention it im surprised he didnt do the subframe\trailing arm bushings and adjusters, go to be the most under rated E30 mod ever.
  19. Indeed. By my rough calculations you are looking around $700 incl shipping for front struts, rear shocks with bump stops\boots and mounts. Not too bad if you can do the work yourself. If you start adding suspension arms, links, bushings etc then it usually ramps up cost to varying degrees depending on the vehicle.
  20. If they are the original units then they are certainly worn. Front gets worked harder than the rear and usually degrades faster.
  21. "We have owned this BMW 325i for about 3 years now" "I promised myself that we would never sell it but our loss and someone's gain" Is the loss attempting to make 300% profit on it
  22. Sachs are €51 each and Bilstein are €37 each excl shipping from Spareto. You really need to replace the fronts at the same time if they havent been done before otherwise its going to feel real sloppy.
  23. Looks much better than the original version. What did it cost?
  24. Which shocks are you referring to?
