  1. Good using kits like these where all components are designed to work together, sure it saves much time effort and money. What sort of tyres are you running? Always make a huge difference

    BMW Recall

Sucks. Im sure you could trace the problem back to cost cutting somewhere.
  3. Yeah i found a few places in Europe that had it for around that but shipping times were 2-3 weeks and i needed it asap. The GST was the big hit as the valve its self was just over $400
  4. Just replaced the parents one (again) which had the same issue, it was creating a small vacuum leak out the rear pipe fitting and the shitty flap was rattling as well. DISA prices keep increasing in price it seems, the last one years ago was $350 NZD, this one was over $600 with shipping and GST added.
  5. Dealers will use the approved BMW fluids but that doesn't mean other independent garages don't use good quality and correct type oil. You gotta ask them what they are using. Correct grade quality full synthetic oil being changed more often > BMW oils BMW routine services have Inspection I and Inspection II, the latter is more intensive and costs more
  6. Yeah think I used washers etc to match it up. May have been stock end links
  7. Had a rear 20mm Whiteline bar in my old E34 with the same issue. Replaced them with some other links that i cant recall.

    Quick rant thread.

Ordered some parts for my parents from FCP Euro which totaled $500 NZD. Days later get contacted by UPS about paying the expected customs charges which are a crazy $140 ( $75 GST, $60 odd for custom clearance fee and the rest for admin fee) I haven't been hit with GST etc for ages but GST was always the bulk of the charge, so either UPS or NZ customs are out to make you pay
  9. Everything else would be easy and fairly cheap to sort but don't think id trust the engine given its been sitting around for a long time and the cost to repair them. You'd definitely want a good inspection and test of it.
  10. Does it misfire when cold and hot? DISA valves can leak and act up Nothing beats a smoke machine for finding vac leaks
  11. Regardless of what it is you'd be stupid not to replace both at the same time on these motors (im assuming there is no record of work done)
  12. Not in the market for one atm but even the nice ones are usually lacking in one area or another
  13. I clearly see who 's the target demographic for these high priced ~20 year old poverty spec'd cars with low k's.

    E34 parts

Interior and exterior parts encompasses a huge selection. Your going to have to state what are the parts you require, you have the wording the wrong way around.
  15. Blue gauges and the wood look odd to me
  16. Yeah the V8 note is more obvious even more so on the M60 E38's. The V12 is all about the smooth torque wave at any rpm. Like Mercedes i think the BMW V12 is actually the more durable engine compared to the M62, obviously the general maintenance costs are higher with the added parts etc
  17. ^^ Agreed. Akin to townies moving to rural setting and crying about all sorts of sh*t.
  18. Given this forum has reached retirement home status (has been for awhile) i wouldn't expect much.
  19. From an E39 so yes they would fit. They are 17" rims and run a 235\45 tyre as above.

    Quick rant thread.

Bubba's handiwork isn't commonplace in BMW's compared to your typical jap and aus car but it hurts when its unfixable on a nice car
  21. Must be a record dig. I doubt he would still have it but messaging him would of been the better play.
  22. Yep 10mm double hex. You can also wind the nuts off half way off the bolts, leave the socket and a extension attached and hit them with a hammer to assist bolt removal

    99 E38 750i SOLD

Nice. If you still had your 6 you'd have a nice cylinder collection going, but 8-12 is still a good effort.
