Thats my plan... had brought the land already, but sold it late last year. About to put my other property on the market, has increased 60k in 6 months. I can buy a nice house in Taupo or surrounding area's freehold, maybe rent it out as an investment and travel for a bit. Exciting times, kind of glad I spent my 20's working hard.. time to be a 33 year old 23 year old.

Morons who sit under the limit and brake for every corner, then when you blow past them they sit behind you with their high beams on.... I frequently get people continuing to accelerate past 105 when they have just been doing sub 100... seen 150 in this circumstance, no f**ks given. not sitting on 80 to please some f**king useless person.

Exactly, it's all about choices and priorities. You don't HAVE to live in AKL, you don't HAVE to have four beds, an en-suite, double garage, garden, in a nice area. But due to those wonderful rules of supply v demand in a free market if those are the things you choose to have, then be prepared to pay the price for them. If the population forecasts are correct, then things aren't going to change any time soon with more people moving into AKL..

Okay so you guys will have seen Johns thread selling the iS lips. http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/52437-is-mtech2-e30-front-splitters/ I was in the very first batch, and got mine yesterday. had had a few cans so thought it was better to wait till today to install. Today couldnt have gone any longer at work, just couldnt wait to get home!!!!!! Anyways, lets get into it Open the box and take it out at least a few hours before you want to install it, and lay it out flat, probably want something on it to make it flat The screws that come supplied are woefully inadequate, these come with them from the USA, and not johns fault! chuck these in the bin. Go to Mitre10 Mega, and pick up the following: - 10x M4 bolts, at least 15mm long, i found a packet was cheapest - 10x M4 nuts, you could use regular ones, i used Nyloc type, dont want it coming loose, and there is no way you would know. Mitre10 part number is 198006 - 20x washers, they are called Fender washers, a suitable size in M4 they didnt have, but they had M5/3/16" type which have worked very well. Mitre10 part number is 901484. these washers are probably not compulsory, and at a dollar a piece, you make your own decision. the lip and the splitter are acrylic and either plastic or fibreglass, so might as well. will take one knock and the heads will pull through. washers are good idea okay once back in the shed, first step is to put on the Mighty Car Mods album on. you should only need it once with the lip on the car already, sit the splitter underneath, and decide how far out you want the splitter. if you use the manufacturer holes, it sticks out a hell of a long way. Personal preferance i guess, but i didnt want a snow plow, or trip over the car every time i walked around the front. take the lip off, put it on the bench upside down, and site the splitter on it, at the same spot. measure out where you will be wanting your holes, they need to be in the center of the lip itself I decided they needed to be 20mm forward of the predrilled holes can be drilled roughly 20mm, doesnt need to be toooooo accurate. drill some pilot holes with a 2mm bit. remember you are working with acrylic, you want to be carefull or it may crack. you are drilling only into the splitter at the moment. then use a 4mm bit and open them up to the size you need for your bolts. M4 = 4mm if you didnt already know. Do this for all the holes that you want to use then upside down with the lip again, and clamp it in place. i used a normal g clamp and a vice grips, just what i had available. make sure the lip is on straight, and sticking out the amount that you want. once you got that sussed, drill your first hole, through the splitter and into the lip with your 4mm bit. the one you want to start with is the very middle one, to lock in your decision how far out you want the splitter. Then put a bolt through with a washer, and put another washer and a nylock on. it it isnt clear, you will want the head of the bolt pointing at the ground after the splitter is on the car. Cool! nearly done! easy eh! should be onto the 4th song in the album about now! make sure your splitter is still lined up correctly on the lip and straight!! next drill the holes on either side of the middle one, and then bolt it in, working your way to the outside. dont work from the other side and come in, because you dont want a warp/wave in the acrylic. at this point, hopefully you are just about done, and, needent do this next step. you may choose to do it anyay.. on mine the very edges (by where the tyres will be), it wasnt sitting against the lip, and had a bit of a wave here too. drill a pilot hole with your 2mm, and then with your 4mm. for this nut and bolt, you do not want a washer of course. this bolt is really only to keep it tight up, will do nothing to contribute to strength because of location. now the last step may or may not need to be done. if you have it mounted all the way out, you should have no excess splitter back here.if you mounted it further back, you will need to trim this, either with a hack saw, or get the grinder out like i do. all nicely trimmed! there, you are done!! should look something like this and a couple of pictures on my cabby. you will have to wait for some better ones at hard park on sunday. its raining here so dont want to put the car outside

I've somehow missed this entire thread but now I'e had a very enjoyable read from beginning to now. Awesome work you've done. It's always nice when a project comes together like that and the end result meets or exceeds the expectations you had from the beginning. Congratulations. Oh, keep the gratuitous engine bay photos coming.

Gavin @ Hi Velocity is finally back up and running !! :-) He spent most of the day yesterday tuning the car. Power delivery is now a lot smoother and sitting a fraction under 190bhp ATW. Next on the to do list is removing the very old original centre resonator which is probably pretty restrictive by now, and maybe some higher flow injectors as the dyno showed they are struggling slightly at the very top end.

Yeah expensive, but my reasoning that im sure whoever is genuinely interested will contact me and we can negotiate prices once they've seen the car. And yeah the E36 and Commodore guy was my mate haha. His reasoning was, its letting people know that theres no swaps haha. It worked i guess. The commodore on offer was actually my other mates which hes just bought.

Ha. I enjoy finding cars for people. I am not looking for a cheap women, looking for an independent women with a busy life, a high libedo and appreciation of night out / in. It's not that big a ask, I mean NZ women have more "partners" on average than most other nations. It's easy to find a one night stand, but it's time consuming and not that great a quality. Too pragmatic? And near all women have " not DTF " on Tinder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Women vs Men. Why can't we just deal with situations on the same level. Wanted. A fit women who is available for dinner, wine, and sex one or two nights a week with no commitments, drama or false hopes... From a guys point of view, the romance is in the time I don't see the person, so once or twice a week builds romance. Not upset, just annoyed that I now have to go through the whole process again, its exhausting being nice and having to remember things, i.e., small dogs name, small child's name, other facts. haha It always turns out this way...

I could see no such problem when houses were affordable five years ago. First home buyers wanted the new VW Golf, Hyundai shitbox SUV, latest iPhone/pad/mac with their first home in Parnell Ponsonby, Howick, Takapuna, Devonport etc. They wanted what they moved out of (their parents home) as a result of 30 years of working, saving and climbing up the property ladder. So of course their ideal first house, and everything that comes with it, was out of reach. Prioritising, a foreign concept. Most average suburbs were attainable a few years ago to the normal Kiwi or first home buyer. I suppose an average house in a not so desirable area (most of West, Glenfield, Pakuranga etc (imo)) is still possible on two average incomes but most of that joint income will be servicing the mortgage, that is if they can save enough for the deposit in the first place. I am over reading and hearing about this housing/pricing crisis in Auckland, and how hard it is to 'live' in NZ, most rabid hysterical leftists having a stab at the govt. or anyone with wealth/assets behind them at any opportunity they get. Pack ya sh*t and f. off to another country and see how green the grass is. FFS if ya can't afford a $600k dump on a small section in Auckland look elsewhere. BOP, Waikato, Malborough Canterbury etc. Hamilton and Tauranga, and close surrounds, will benefit greatly from this drama going on in Auckland over the next 5 or so years. A lot of Aucklanders priced out of the market, or cashing in, are already moving south. I suppose when the rest of them see what a higher quality of life, and better value for money is on offer then the domino effect will really start.

Thought it was so the bucket of KFC wouldn't fall off its precarious perch in the dash of the Toyota Enima / Nissan Elgrand / Honda Odessy, spilling the over sized Pepsi Max into the lap of the marine mammal wedged between the steering wheel and the tail gate, whose trying to text while choking on a chicken wing.......

The human body. Mine is failing me. My hip is stuffed, my back is stuffed and my noes hair is growing at an exponential rate whilst the hair on my head is starting to thin. And I am only 33. Also. Auckland house prices. I am not sure I can afford to buy my own house of my EX wife as it had doubled in value in the last 5 years... and if I can't I can not afford to buy another house... and rent is crazy! I have always liked Tauranga.

Stupid motherfluffas who take their motherfluffing time to take off when a light turns from red to green and a whole line of cars has to beep at em to get their attention. People who slow down to unfluffingbelievably slow speeds to take a corner that can easily be taken at 50kph. People on 50cc mopeds who cant accelerate up a hill because the bikes power output is not suited to their body type. Mongoose alarms POS i tell ya. Suckers who think they have the Godgiven right to be superior to others because they read a lot of books but really have no real world experience. People who stereotype BMW drivers as poncey gits. Racial discrimination. Social discrimination. Sexism. Wars over oil. The list goes on.

If I hit a fellow employee, I'd expect severe discipline at best, quite possibly sacking, and even some sort of tribunal and/or legal action taken against me. Assuming no criminal charges for assault weren't brought. I'm saddened to see the potential demise of the program, but quite frankly he got what he deserved.

It will be missed. Very few shows I enjoy these days. The more car shows the better. 5th Gear is a bit dry most of the time. But I would still rather watch that before bed than anything on TV1/2/3/4/% The only replacement I would accept would be Chris Harris. Because he is just as much of an arrogant opinionated wanker as Clarkson. But they are suggesting Chris Evans. The twat from Radio 2. But he just won't fit in.

The hits will be there for ever... these pieces of sh*t recycle water and oil quicker than a whore emptying your wallet. Then again the whore is your car emptying your wallet. If your concerned about maintenance and economy ... buy a Toyota and join a different forum or buy any of the 6 cylinder versions and enjoy the experience.
