4 pointsPMA goes a long way! Me and the missus of 5 years split up. So after shortening my stay in Europe I applied for my dream working holiday in Canada and found out an old school friend is doing the exact same thing! A couple interviews and a shitload of saving and ill be living the dream. Can anyone say e30ix?

4 pointsOMG. rant on/ the white station wagon blocking southern motorway friday night, in the fast lane doing 75kph with a 30 car tailback behind them brake checking anyone whom gets close to their bumper. The little serve towards me when I finally was able to get a gap to the inside line to finally get past you was appreciated also dickhead. Closely followed by the blue hatch on the same motorway on the way back, rubbernecking a minor ding then brakes and nearly leave their lane to check out the carnage. Whilst there is 5km of 3 lane parking lot behind them and a clear motorway infront. Seriously. Have you got nothing else in your life that after sitting through that 25min traffic jam when the motorway clears you want to try to see a dented car so bad you risk another accident right infront of 2 police cars. FFS im out. rant over\

2 pointsThe moment you put up a post about making a profit on an OE car you intend on bringing back is the moment that profit margin disappears.

2 pointsTime to unload some surplus gear. This was the first CSL converted DME I made and I have had it running in my car for a while now to test that it functions correctly and perfectly. Bear in mind this was my first attemp, the soldering is obviously not as good as what I can now do, but everything works as it should without issue. Has the H-Bridge soldered so will be capable of running the motorised intake flap on a genuine airbox. I will code this to your car with whatever modifications you require (EWS delete, sport mode memory, different throttle mapping, warm up lights change, speed limit removed, dyno mode limit removed, burble and pop, 6 speed manual instead of SMG, or even just a full virgin non coded DME ready to be programmed by dealer tools - I can even clone it as a spare DME for your CSL if you are that way inclined with all proper VIN, ISN code (or the ability to resync to your existing EWS module or a spare EWS module). $800ono NB: You will need to convert your car to MAP to run this DME in a S54.

2 pointsJust picked the M3 up from Gavin at Hi Velocity after a custom tune. In short, the chip i purchased from the UK is confirmed as absolute rubbish, see prior posts on this thread for what NOT to buy. Its now tuned for an endurance (reliability) level and pulls 252.5WHP (188WKW) on gavins dyno. This looks respectable for what is a stock motor with exhaust only. Will take it back to torques dyno at some stage so we get a before and after on the same dyno, will wait for a cheapo club day.

1 pointSo I am off to Europe on a OE for a while, but will have money to buy a few cars with the hope of importing them to NZ and on selling at some point when I need too, investments if you like. What, in your opinion, should I be looking at? After a day on the internet, I have discovered there is next to no money in most mainstream models, M3's, RS4's etc.. And I would need to have a 10k profit buffer in each car to make it worth while. Looking at 997 911 Carrera S's in Manual, there seems to be a lack of them here but are quite popular in the UK. What else should I look at that could be sold here, perhaps cars we don't get or don't have a lot of. What sort of millage would turn people away? IE, over 100,000km seems to turn people off. Feedback appreciated.

1 pointHi mate. Would luv to have these wheels on my e30. I know the stud pattern and offset won't work. Would require some work to fill, space and redrill... Not impossible... Let me know if you don't have a takers at $500, will be interested at a lower price. Thanks

1 pointNo one on the board near you with a cable and bmw diagnostic software? Does it stay on or does it come on shortly after driving? I had steering angle errors after changing control arms and the steering wheel was a few degress off until I got an alignment then it went away permanently, bmw e39 should be similar.

1 pointI finally got around to replacing my old floor mats too and I have to say the new (to me) ones look fantastic. Finally I have floor mats that match my carpet perfectly and are all clipped down properly. I'll keep my old mats because whilst they're OEM they're some type of super heavy duty ones that I've never seen before. Could come in handy if I'm hauling around dirty crap. Thanks to Brent at BM World:

1 pointI recommend everybody with an E36 coupé should check their boot latch and surrounding area for damage right now... It's apparently a common problem (see here) and can lead to total failure. There's a reinforcement discussed in this thread but I made one and it prevented the boot from closing. So I've replaced the latch with an undamaged one but I imagine that too will fail over time (especially now that this area is weaker). I'll have to just keep an eye on it for the time being.

1 pointI have no use for it whatsoever, but just hearing about it makes me excited. Very impressive.

1 pointThe box guards on the original car where there to accomodate larger width wheels. I this case they have tried to lift from a modern DTM car. On a road car shape the open flare thing just doesnt work. But I think the killer for me is the weird no point stickon things that come from the front gaurd up to the bonnet. It literally looks like the art teacher stepped out of the room and forgot to tell little timmy that his drawning was done 30mins ago.

1 pointA kiwi Bimmerforums member living in the US helped me out shipping parts cheaply. Part of the deal was that I take the 8er out to show his dad (another enthusiast) when the parts arrived so I drove out to Kawakawa Bay today with Martin (breakmywindow). Great people, great drive and stunning location. What a place to live. Hard to believe it's only half an hour from the CBD. And pictured with Daniel's dad's E38... Plus I got my box of rear suspension parts! Whoop!!

1 pointLooks like you got a great car there Dave, cleaning it up and making it your own. There's an article in the April BMWCar mag on the very same model which is worth a look.

1 pointHad a look at this further and alas i think my sump plate and mount will interfere with it without major cutting to the back of the unit. ie

1 pointWell I hope she goes to a loving home. Damn fine looking car that is.

1 pointYou cannot convert for 2k. Trust me. I'd say suspension and maintenance should make your budget disappear nicely.... Welcome to the e34 club
