3 pointsHey lads, A friend of mine has a beautiful R32 GTR for sale at the moment. Genuine low kms, and all completely original, it's an impressive example. Looking at $35,000, but is open to offers. PM me if you have any questions or interest. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/nissan/auction-903796324.htm He's bought an M3 V8 so it really needs to go as storage space is at a premium.

2 pointsIts funny, these cars will always seem modern to me, I remember when the first ones were sold NZ new and they started racing them in the touring cars.. Just compare the tech and style of this to a BMW M3.... I would still take a 89 M3, but boy these were futuristic! Thing is with the GTR, IMHO, it doesn't have the classic feel to it, there for it may take a bit longer to get up in value... I would be marketing this car state side, might be worth double or triple that price there. Also GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
2 pointsHA! Are you going to help him with the cost? An old M7X engine is one thing to use... the S85 V10 is on another cost level & some.... Once again another of your irrational suggestions.
-
2 pointsCome off the forum for a couple of days, mention the forum has turned a new leaf while staying with and seeing some ex-members, and this garbage to back it up.

1 pointHey guys! Met some of you at the meet at the sushi shop. Was nice to finally take the old girl out to a meet. Been spending many.. many hours tidying this car up and bringing it up to scratch. Its a 1994 US Spec LHD M3
-
1 pointWhy don't you tube frame the front of your Pajero, dual shocks, and add a couple steering dampeners while you're at it? Urethane bushes and standard control arms are old technology. Going with your approach here - "why bother". Turd, polish etc.
-
1 pointThe Golf is actually worse than that, the scale changes from 80kph onwards, meaning no markings for 90kph or 110kph. You can get these into the USA now, as long as its over 25 years old or so.

1 pointOooooooooor... You do what the krafty chermans do: The Golf R32 speedo I have uses about half the range to go from 0-100, then the scale changes at 100, then at 210, so the second half of the range goes from 100-300km/h. not sure it will see much action on high side, when it's in the Mrs Touran though... until I take it out by myself, or on the track Besides - Every schoolboy knows that the higher the speedo goes, the faster the car is
-
1 pointBUT........ 180kph speedos are better because the needle moves faster on the smaller sacle range so you feel like you're going quicker! Of course I loose this feature with my digital number style dash

1 pointBUMP. can make it a manual car , lowered and on big a$$ rims , mtec body kit etc if you guys want that sort of thing .
-
1 pointnice car , always makes me laugh when you see the jap 180km/h speedo's on these things http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Nissan/auction-903796324.htm when my 1985 635csi or e28 M535i have 260km/h speedo

1 pointDon't forget to do the valley pan gasket and the coolant pipe that leaks just after you reassemble it They're right there, and I assume you don't want to strip it again . Don't overtorque the valley pan gasket bolts (or any of them - partucularly those going into alloy!) Good job though - I need a frame like your engine lifter thingee - Don't think the rafters in my barn would cope!
-
1 pointThe V10 is far from cheap the ones ive looked are around the 12-16knz plus getting them here plus a box behind it, LS or V12 would be by far cheaper. I know its been done before but M60 is pretty cheap someone on here has one going for 1k i think
-
1 pointActually. Please do this so you can buy my Aston Martin muffler that will sound good with a V12 exhaust note. Here it was fitted to my E36. Just delete the rear tyre well and bingo!

1 pointI dunno man - it seems like a decent car for sure! Kms are little on the high side but anyone that knows older BMWs knows that isn't a problem. Motor is only just getting broken in! =) I dont have space for another car otherwise I would have snapped it up. Someone buy this, and help the man get to canada!
-
1 pointSome good points made here. Hes emailed me saying he made a mistake (obviously) and i replied asking him what he wants for it to try and negotiate a deal. I wasnt gonna try at fight for it just thought it was a bit of a laugh.
-
1 pointSo took beasty to Whiti for her maiden vogue ie, breaking it in, and Holy sh!t did she perform. Open straights felt like floating on air, and the corners were quite terrifyingly awesome. No fishtailing and she just gripped. I must say that she handles pretty damn well. Did the whole round trip on just over a quarter tank and did the initial route to Whiti in 1hr45 incl two drip stops. Roads were pretty empty so wasn't one of the clichéd A-hole BMW drivers. Next open road trip will be down to wellington to do a proper open road KMs per tank.

1 pointhaha we've just bought a 1992 GTR full nismo spec, that's just been imported from Japan. One of the fastest things ive been in (excl bedroom talk) Ps, this is a very tidy GTR, hopefully it sells and goes to someone who will look after it
-
1 pointThe fact the advert doesn't state clearly the history of the car makes it seem suspect. Especially when you can quickly realise that with a simple plate search. Besides, 124k kms in 2003, dropped down to 51k kms with the M5s dash cluster... this makes the chassis a 215-220k kms car. If I was buying an M5 I'd never bother with such a sample, get a genuine article and it will make your life all the more simple down the road.

1 pointThe rear floor section is entirely different in the M5. Be interested to see how the rear scuba tanks have been made to fit in this one.
-
1 pointLegally binding? Not likely. The bullshit TradeMe put up before you put your bid in is exactly that. The seller made a mistake, you aren't getting the item for $1. You aren't going to spend good dollars in the district court fighting for it either. The dealer that sold the car for $1, got far more publicity than they could have bought for the measly profit made on that trade in by honoring the deal and it going all over social media and the newspapers.

1 pointDidn't Hartge do the earlier v12 in the e36 chassis mid 90s ?. Something like an H50 from memory

1 pointAnd i guess you failed to read the bit about how much weight the car has lost, selective reading me thinks and last i checked most tracks have some sort of straight and last i checked the quicker you can get from point to point seems to reflect lap times......so Google told me

1 pointE30 prices (buying), that have been steadily rising whilst their conditions have been getting worse
-
1 pointThe wagon might not be common as a body, but it is an 1800 auto- hardly desirable IMO. As pointed out above, the rust shown in some of the pics is very much more than surface rust. In my experience, the AA couldn't get p*ssed if they fell in a vat of beer... if you are really interested in buying the car, get it checked by a BMW dealer/specialist or one of the manky members on here who knows what to look for. If you could get it at a reasonable price, it could be worth a punt, but the seller thinks he is in possession of a rare desirable car so he no doubt has excessive price expectations. Probably be cheaper to buy a good e36 wagon. The 4door looks to be a better option. It is probably a South African import judging by the visible spec, so rust could be an issue. Leather looks like it might need some repairs, but cant be sure from the iffy pics. Also, it will need a total respray to make it pretty, and those cost $$$$, so, if you cant do a respray yourself, it might end up costing more than getting one in decent up-front condition. Will pay to get some estimates for a respray and get the car looked at by someone who knows e30's down in CCC.

1 point^ people who brake for no reason on the motorway? wtf?Is it because they glance at the speedo and see 105?
