2 pointsBudget - 5-8k I have had my e36 M3 for over 2 years now and still thoroughly enjoy it. For that reason I am ready to spend some reasonable coin bring the chassis and drivetrain back to as new condition as possible. I my plan has always been to do it myself but two years on and I still haven't found the time. SO, can you help me with rough costs for doing the following things and also suggest any other ideas. Vanos - not rattling but what am I missing out on if it's poked. Bushes Ball joints Shocks? Dampener adjustable? Springs - H&R? Want a little lower buy not scraping. Tensioner - EVO - already purchased. Install? Wheel spacers - 25mm? Steering rack - Z3 already purchased. Diff mounting, suspension reinforcing, engine mount. What else? 2 pointsYeah I know what you mean, But I don't think H&R had 4cyl / 6cyl springs. They list as compatible with both but with less of a drop on m3/318i. This is how they sat with an m20.

2 pointsDon't have too much fun with it, I've had mine for about 2 months and left rear tyre is already showing the belt in some places Shopping for new tyres already, at least it's an excuse to ditch the runflats.

2 pointsEngine built and installed with the 6 speed box. Now need to do the wiring and fuel system. Also waiting on the driveshaft to be shortened. Maybe 2 weeks away from driving under its own power and not to far away from doing a test day. Seems really weird that this car should be quicker than the e30 as it looks standard as. Going by the corner speeds I was doing with the 1.6, a high 1:10 around Hampton Downs is on the cards with the 3.2L

2 pointsInspired by Martin's delving into the technical innards of the "vanus" on his M5 I have replaced the badge on the back........ Also put in a new battery and Michelins on the front so I have a matched set all round. Before.... After.....

-
1 pointOf course you could inflate a car tire with a bicycle pump, it would take days but it could be done!
-
1 pointAwww, thats where I've gone wrong. I'm missing the mrs part of te equation..lol

1 pointS2000's are awesome little cars. I had one before my M3, they handle like a go kart ! Youve got to rev the tits off them to get anywhere - well comparing to the M3 anyway. Downside is i dont think youll find one for 10k.

1 pointI cant thank you enough. I dont know how I missed it in the other thread unless I was thinking radio tuner=amp. Put another one in and it works however I'm going to have to find one from another car with the business package. The one I put in is from the profesional sound system so not all the functions are working. BUT, I have sound.
-
1 pointSuccess of a sorts with the radio. Replaced the radio module and it works. It's not the right module for my car though so some functions aren't working. But at least now I've got things heading in the right direction. And I have sound.

1 points2000s are amazing little cars. Very reliable and a great engine and box. Only real issue with s2000 is that they hold their value so you have to be damn quick to pick one up for cheap. I wouldnt touch a merc either, but im very biased (which is funny considering my current employment).

1 pointBlock came back today tested and ok, and some more goodies, now the fun starts to put it all back together.

1 pointIf you have a semi-capable teenager with a passing interest in cars make him / her do it, under your 'supervision'. Means someone else does all the tedious stuff while under the guise of 'learning' something new. Works best if bribed with pizza / movie tickets / a beer as long as the relevant parents aren't aware Hell, thats how my old man got the clutch replaced in the Morris Minor and the Telstar a few years later! Then again, I always was a bit gullible........ That kit looks like it was expensive - how much was the new DM flywheel worth?

1 pointBBS RG's on. Square set of 17x8 painted in Gunmetal. 235/45/r17 on the rear, 225/45/r17 on the front. Up next on the to-do list: Booked in at Carfolie this weekend for Tints - getting sick of the sun murdering my eyes from the side windows. Wire up 18 button OBC this weekend Install black front bumper mesh insert (Removing the m-sport style plastic grille) - Likely this weekend Got Powerflex poly RTA Bushings sitting here to install at some point - (SJ?) Then steering rack ends and misc ball joints that I'll replace. New rear brake pads are in order - whoever installed them last broke the retainer clips so they're rattling which is infuriating. And will eventually get on to some Koni shocks with H&R springs in the new year I think, my wallet could do with a rest. Just going to put some k's on the manual conversion and enjoy the car.

1 pointYes I have one of the 165 R/H drive ones. Worth $60k+. At $40k this is priced really well. Great investment car.
-
1 pointI believe there are only 165 RHD S54 powered Z3M Coupes that BMW built. I understand none were sold NZ new, but HellBM have a UK import?
-
1 pointI have been a BMW fan for a few years now and finally got around to posting on this forum. My present car is an E60 545i 2005. Previous car was an E39 528 1999, loved that car too. I have done a few mods on my 545i: 19" DTM wheels staggered. Front Bridgestone Potenzas 245/35/R19 Rear Bridgestone Potenzas 285/30/R19 (285's are a much better fit than the 275's on the DTM wheels) Lowered within legal specs using B&G springs Bilstein shocks Chip tune + by Torque performance Character of the 'Family' the car has totally changed. I have added a few photos.

For anyone not aware of the B12 http://www.alpina-archive.com/?page_id=203 And yerp, not just a rebadge, the real deal https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=gyy483
