Guy Martin has turned down an invitation to host Top Gear. He said that being a truck fitter was his chosen career, and that it would always come first. The comparatively small amount of television work he currently does is hard enough to fit in around his job and bike racing, and that presenting the show would mean changing his life altogether. “Yes, you might earn squillions of pounds, but I earn enough here to keep me in push bikes,” he said. “I don’t want to live like a rock star. I drive a Transit van and a Volvo estate. Although having said that, my Snap-On tool bill is quite high.” Kind of a shame. Sounds like he's a 'real' person and would have been a breath of fresh air, for the first series at least.

So ive been lurking around here for a while with the odd post here and there soaking up the knowledge of everyone, doing basic modifications etc but have now taken on the task of a build project......wont be breaking any records with getting this build done but plan on doing as much of it as i possibly can myself, with the limited skill and tools i have. so here's where we start: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/49440-1990-e30-project/ Here's were we currently sit. Then i purchased a dereged E34 525 to pull all the bits i needed for the M50 conversion so after a lengthy list from pelican parts i have the motor sitting awaiting all new seals and gaskets Mean while the suspension is getting a full upgrade with a 5 stud conversion with all new bushes, ball joints and links through out and some braided brake lines while its all apart. Have just ordered custom spec'd XYZ coilovers to bring it down to a more inspiring height. Spent a weekend scrubbing all the dirt out from every crack and crevice of the underbody and cleaning it all up and painting it back again. The interior has been stripped to A:) check for rust in the floor B:) to clean, scrub and dye the interior carpets. Recaro LS seats have been purchased to fit in the front, and rear trims will be re-bolstered and trimmed to match. Lots of little miscellaneous parts have been sourced to help this project along, M20 flywheel (to be lightened and starter), Fuzzfabrics Custom e30 houndstooth gear lever and handbrake boot. E36 engine arms, e36 steering rack. Renault Booster. Mtech 1 rear spoiler. Still to purchase: Manual Gearbox conversion Walbro Fuel Pump Wheels Copper Spacer & Cut-ring gasket ARP Head studs Turbo - still to decide HX35 or 30, Garret TA3410 looking for quicker spoil than massive outright power. Injectors, wastegate and all the extras that go along with a turbo build. Next on the to do list is sort the little bits of rust in the bottom of the A pillars and around the rubber seal in the boot. Meanwhile the list of parts grows. Will update this as progress continues and ask silly questions where needed along the way

So it has come to the time to add another addition to our family, to join the rest of the E30s in our driveway. We bring to you "WAGLAN" - origination from Raglan, and prior belonging to Mosens Europarts (hence the number plate on the pictures). An immaculate NZ New example, originally was a 320, but has been upgraded to a 325 (Automagic). Next to no rust whatsoever, and even rip free seats! She drives like a dream, and will certainly work well as a service vehicle for the race series. The stripes aren't original, but were put on by the local paint shop in Hamilton. I actually quite like the look of them. The 14" Basketweaves are also in mint condition. I just can't fault this car. Eventually more to come, but in the meantime Simon and I will seek enjoyment in driving her on the next road trip.

Hey Guys new here and new to owning a BMW (Dad and Brother both have had lots of them throughout the years). After a bit of looking around and test driving I found the ONE for MEEEE. Its Brents old e36 328i. I plan on doing some upgrades over time. For now I have just put her on a pair of m-sport wheels and given her a good clean. Brent is a good guy and it was easy dealing with him. Also thanks to my IRL friend zero for helping me out with looking at cars and giving me good advice. Mods already done by Brent. black with m3 vader seats lowered on ebaichs with koni adjustable shocks 3.15 diff headers . m50 manifold e46 bigger front brakes m20 6.5kg solid mass flywheel

Hi all, I feel like this is something that has been covered a million times over so I apologise.. I need a diff for my E30, currently running a small case but ideally a medium case is what I need. LSD would be a bonus, but it depends on cost. I need something with a ratio between 3.9 and 4.4 Cheers in advance, Jason

Very nice Ray. I can't stand the pre-facelift tail lights, but the back end on this looks great.

"5. The turbocharger has its own dedicated electric coolant pump;" That doesn't sound at all problematic. :/

Get your IT guy on to it when he comes over on Tuesday for cabby parts Brent!!! just fyi, your login name will always be your very first Bimmersport name, regardless what you change it too eg those of you vets here will know i was originally 'ethrty320' here, which is still the user name i need to use when logging in from a different device.

No idea sorry, has been sold de-registered so many times I don't even know what the rego was. I do need to try track it down though, for when I re-register it. Do it.

I'm not sure I'd call that cheap. Either way, check it (and any 2002 - not criticising it) very very carefully for rust. They love to rust. If anyone buys it, I can probably be convinced to cough up my tachometer (I have replaced it with a race-spec one) coz everyone knows revs > time. And a tii engine, complete.

Saw an immaculate looking E36 touring going through East Tamaki at around 3.15 Technoviolet with gold BBS wheels? Made me want one so I can put a Toyota engine inside with 4 exhaust tips out the back.

HAHAHA Sounds EXACTLY like he comes across. Seems he's "still driving the same car years later" Bahaha! I wonder if he realises how much energy people have to expend, when they laugh at the wanky videos and comments he makes. If Fair Go have found this page, while investigating the Ebirth Electronics saga they might work out we're not all as wanky as we're cracked up to be, though sometimes one makes up for the rest - that bit where he says he's only in it for the money should do wonders for his reputation.

Fabricators have now finished. Big thanks to the great workmanship of Colin @ Quest Fabrication. Next step will be with the panel/paint shop for shaping of the doors/petrol flap and painting. Nice to be able to fit the Work wheels and/or OEM 18`s/19`s
