Took a `03 316ti with a tired N42 and replaced with M54B25,manual conversion and brake upgrade. 95% of conversion done in a couple of days to create a fun to drive compact. Went so well that the motorsport kitted ti`s we have are going to be converted to M54B30 powered versions when time allows. Great interlude until the 2016 HELLBM main project gets underway.

F*#king internet and cable TV gone out at home. on thursday. before a long weekend. power reset cable modem. called voda. nope, can't find your modem. We'll have to send an engineer. next wednesday. New Zealand Day weekend with no TV, no internet, no netflix, and the one dayer in wellington. f#@kers. I'd pay $20/month on top of my current monthly bill to have next-day on-site technician. not an option. I curse Spark and Voda for their low-margin low-SLA service provision contracts with Downers et al. brought to you by mobile 4G modem.

Been doing a fair amount of delooming and merging on the two wiring looms, a few more hours needed on that and then I can get the wiring installed and out the way. Got the motor in last night, a little tricky, but got there eventually. Now I just need to get it to where I want to and then get the engine mounts done. Not sure how im going to do this tho.... Ordered something very cool for this project from ECS today, will post some pics once I receive it.

Using compressed music as your source is the first mistake. Use lossless like flac or similar, otherwise the time and money spent on the rest of your system is wasted. Garbage in = garbage out.

Theres a workshop in hamilton that I saw advertising on facebook that was doing exactly this, you can hire tools etc as well. We have a couple of hoists here we let people use as well, but not much help if you're in Auckland.

I use a little local compnay. I have a radio wireless connection. I had a fault. THEY called ME and asked if it was OK to send a Tech out to replace the antenna/router, before I got home from work. It was all done before I got home

Picked up the head after a rebuild from Doug's Engineering. Cam rebuilt and reground by Franklin Cams. Cleaned out the head-bolt-holes on the block, ground down an old head bolt to act as a thread chaser. New HG on, all torqued down, no majors

Fixed and undercoated the back bumper, fingers crossed the weather is good next weekend than I can do the back mud guards.

Probably the only person I've ever seen thats happy about the CEL being on!

The grilles really lift that front end. Has the barge got xenon lights? Some angel eye rings would dress it up i reckon. Is there a retrofit kit?

Very cool stuff. Quite neat when you think about you can buy an E38 for peanuts and get a car which you can then personalise. When you're finished it does not really feel out of date or old at all. In a lot of ways I think there is more cool factor in an older car which has been superbly maintained and upgraded than a newer, more generic car.
