4 pointsReal sad to hear that! You've undoubtedly been the most helpful person on this forum. I'm not sure if the moderators see the same, but I definitely think they've dropped the ball on this one.

2 pointsI don't bother with the labels anymore. I buy cars with 3 pedals (and no the footrest\foot brake don't count).

2 pointsThanks for all the help Glenn. This is a huge loss to the forum. I hope the forum owners are listening.

2 pointsBummer, we will all miss the large amount to time you put into helping us out. Thanks.

1 pointSo, someone on here was trusting enough to let me do work for them, i know right ? ( one day you guys will get my humor ) Anyway, this wasn't a major upgrade just the comp wheel as turbine upgrade means using Chang made product and i refuse to touch them. Comp wheel is MFS ( shinny ) 50mm inducer with increase radius and tip height, Issues are they are so new very few parts can be obtained so i had to make the turbine rings as this needed oversizing as it had been leaking oil badly. Holding the comp cover is a pain due to the outlet angle so a jig was needed, disappointing things are the stock built in blow valve the hole is way to small to be effective and the turbine wheel weighs a ton or at least shooting way about what it should be for its size. End result a nice wee bolt in for those wanting a tad more without hurting drive ability and cost effect being well below 1k for my end at least.

1 pointHi guys and gals just saying hi kinda new to the BMW community so great pace to start with all the wealth of knowledge around. Heres a pic of my 530i daily and I'm currently trying to get a 1998 E46 328i on the road will put up pics when she's back on the road and not in a million pieces.

1 pointwould I steer you wrong? When I've run out of my current stock, I'll be talking to Barry. I previously used Meguiars, and one clay bar was good for several cars. My experience reflects Barry's '8-10 cars'. I seriously doubt you'd go through a whole (or even a quarter) clay bar kit doing the e28, even if it had lived under a motorway flyover by a garden centre for three years. As Barry notes, a little goes a long way. And you have a ton of options. Plus: pics, or your washing of the e28 didn't happen!

1 pointI don't know anything about them actually. I've only bought small things from eBay, like PDCs from china and key fobs. Both of those I can recommend. Were I in your shoes, I'd be considering local used, or fcp. I'm a huge fcp groupie though. Lifetime warranty is hard to pass up for me. Edit: URO parts gets bad ratings from BMW forum reviewers. Buy the ATE part for a bit more. I'll be doing yet another fcp order soon, you're welcome to tag along for reduced shipping.

1 pointthere is no difference in the wheel fitment between any e21 so the fact that is a 320a is not an issue. you will be looking for a set of 4x100 with a low offset. Think 13-18 but you should go and do a google search, there are many many threads on this subject. Go have a look at e21.net. again there are threads over there. I also think there may be a thread on bimmerforums e21 section dedicated to wheels, most of the posts will have the wheel size and offset in the post, but photo bucket may have killed this photo thread. Do some research the answer is out there and is not hard to find at all. They are a bit of a odd ball in regards to wheels so it is a common question asked.

1 pointDo you have tax-free status in the US? I can facilitate US sales too, in New Hampshire, where there is no sales tax. Reach out if you're keen.
-
1 pointWhere abouts in the US? Not Houston I hope. Don't mind holding something for you.

1 pointI'm just letting everyone know, Botany Motor Worx Ltd (B.M.W Ltd) has withdrawn it's sponsorship on the forum. I'll still be here from time to time though as *Glenn* Wish all you guys the best with your enthusiasm and comradery over the years and I'll still enjoy reading all your exploits and help where I can...

1 pointCondition trumps k's (within reason)... go check out the $3k one... if it's a genuine car that's been maintained by an owner who's done a lot of work themselves it could be perfectly fine. Your assuming there's no history, don't assume - pick up the phone and have a chat with the owner... after that you'll be in a position to decide whether it's worth a look; or whether it's not. If you "settle" for a 328 you'll always be wondering what might have been.
-
1 pointWhen you hit something, you don't get a "BANG" and a soft cushion... your steering wheel farts and you whack you face on it.
-
1 pointI never judge a car on k's myself, its just a number at the end of the day, how its been treated over the years is what matters..Chances are higher that more of the original parts have been replaced in that time compared to a ~200,000 example which would be probably be on tired\old suspension etc anyway. Age is also a factor here not just k's. Personally id view and inspect it before writing it off.. These are all old cars with many owners so you never know whats they are like until you see them. For whats its worth at least half a dozen 80-90's BMW's ive owned had over 300,000km and ive got no regrets. I made sure i got them for a good price and they had strong engines are transmissions. I never mind doing a bit of suspension work (which is usually required). E46 would be cheaper to repair also esp suspension wise.
