    Here's your selling point

Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it's just the opposite.

I am that tool haha. No one called any names though so why go there ?‍♂️. I use tools all the time and theyr very useful so I'll take it as a compliment. Asking price for that e36 with that many Kms surely isn't serious so I made a similar offer. Which is much closer to what it's worth really. I'm sure it will become a very comfortable TradeMe resident for years to come at that price. As for my old E46 it doesn't take an expert to see even in a few pictures and that description that it's been absolutely mistreated. That car was mint. Why take a great example to turn into a track whore? With cheap garbage parts. Shows the mentality of the owner and then you can imagine. Its not even the right car to start from any way, it's a fully loaded model with sunroof etc so it's heavy...

    That's actually a legitimately good plate for an E46 M3 ?

I liked it then, still like it now, the wheels and gearknob does nothing for me but easily changed. Ticks the boxes that cant be changed like MY, manual (easily), low kms, paint colour etc so its still a winner to me.

It's an M3 after all. It's meant to be driven hard.

if anyone wants an M3, they will need to compromise in certain areas at the very least. in some cases its going for a higher mileage example, or going for a different colour other than first choice, or one that has been re-registered for whatever reason. This one has probably been tracked and it is what it is. Its the owner's choice to do with it how they want and to sell it to the next interested person is their prerogative. If it has been maintained whilst being tracked then I dont personally see any reason its any worse off than other examples. Like I said earlier, being a 2005, sunroof, black with red interior, lower kms etc make it a nice candidate for my boxes being ticked and if I had to compromise on possible tracking history then so be it. Anyone who doesnt want to touch a tracked car can and will find something else and that is their choice, just like it is yours to make a comment about your old beloved car - so no judgement there. Only issue I see is if people take it to a personal level and create drama, thus causing a bad reputation for the forum that we all use so lets just keep it civil and move on. Keep the comments civilized guys. And on topic lol.

Yep, was actually my dad's plate. Had it on his series 1 E-type in the 90s but held onto the plate when he sold it.

Are you running the 9600HP plate? One of the best personalised plates in NZ that 99% of people won't understand.
  11. 2 points
A mate of mine was the one who bought it, has loved every second with it so far. Thought the plate was a good addition considering how absurdly loud that thing is ?

@M3AN Pretty sure it's this: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-558783-turner-e46-m3-adjustable-short-shift-kit/?pdk=AQQH. So not particularly expensive or desirable. Just another ugly junk dildo shifter.

Crap, I’ll slap myself on the hand and put myself in time out ?

That one looks awesome. First thing I'd do though is replace that stupid looking shifter with an OEM one

And if it is still a virgin you start to question life. Whats even real. Anyone that says they havent flogged their M3 is anger is bullshitting. Its what they're made for and what they do best.

Anyone with half a brain should already know what social media is doing in the background, nothing in The Social Dilemma should be a surprise these days. I didnt find it that scary, nor did it make me want to delete all my accounts.

Close! M4 GTS hubs compared to the stock cast M4 version - they're milled from billet with slightly differing geometry.

Fair enough, sorry dude - I knew as soon as I typed that It would end up being a Bimmersporter ?

    Not a coincidence at all.

The user who made that comment is the same guy who offered $14k for Secniv's E36 M3 (listed at $32,500) - so likely just a tool.

How's it any different to here? ?

I don't understand the "Very sad to see my old car in this state" comment from the past owner. No obvious issues with the car I can see, unless he just hates the mods? Fair enough on the shifter though, it looks terrible. Phots aren't the greatest but some people just suck at that. In the end if you're a serious buyer, you'd take a good look and get it inspected...

I’m talking to them, maybe rescue it myself, nice cruiser since the E30 is gonna not be built to cruise

Interesting point on the temps, nothing noticeable. Was not really a consideration, I just wanted it to look stock without the flaky discoloured paint.

I had trouble understanding your post. Do you mean that clean cars are achieving more than their asking, or significantly less? Are you suggesting cars sell slowly on trademe, and faster via other channels? But at what price? It's all very interesting, but where's the figures/clear evidence to support whatever your claim is?

Wow, 10 Years on, and still shines up ok. Just had a major 25th birthday and is the best its ever been in my ownership, I would say it drives pretty much like new. All new suspension and steering, including Bilstein's. Lots of servicing, all leaks fixed, hpc coated cam covers, diff seals, subframe bushes, etc, the list really does just go on and on. FCP have been great!

Back to school for you. I'm not interested in post count and referred only to the three posts questioning parentage of the car such as "guessing no service history", "sounds like a substantial shunt then", " it must have been bad for the insurer to not fix it"; if these imaginative guesses meet your personal standard for "excellently raised points", you're probably more at home on Facebook. No points for Gryffindor.

Thanks for the dissection of article. Would not read again/10.

Yep you only have to search on youtube for Arthur Tussik to see how repairs are done overseas on rails... Pull the rail out, cut a window where the kink remains and straighten that piece further using a hammer. take the piece cut off and straighten on a bench then weld all back together and paint. An amazing guy but that approach wouldn't cut it over here when the engineer inspects.

I haven't used it since I got back to NZ. I haven't actually had a chance. Kiwi bank doesn't support it. You're right. The only 3 that support it are ANZ, ASB and BNZ. I use Transferwise quite a bit but they are not a traditional bank. I spoke to Kiwibank a while back and they mentioned they were looking at their own service and it would be out soon. That was a year back. And Own service is of no use without stores supporting it.

This looks like it had a lot of love, to get to this kind of mileage in this kind of condition. It’s Auto. It just rolled into the wreckers yard over the road. Runs and drives, dereg, no idea what’s actually wrong with it, for someone to scrap it. It’ll be getting chopped up in a couple of days, so if anyone is interested, speak now, or forever hold your peace. I love the shape, but this one will be a labour of love for someone I expect.
