2 pointsStill not quite legal and I think a 360km round trip with no a/c and a bad shudder at open road speeds would be enough to drive me mad!! Plus the M5 probably needs to stretch its legs, it will be feeling a bit neglected!

2 pointsI have now had a chance to really drive this old girl and I am pleasantly surprised. The steering was much better than I expected and while it is slow compared to modern cars its well weighted and surprisingly direct. Its very comfortable and reasonably well balanced in the corners but I can see some new shocks in the near future. The M60 is a gem, revs easily to 6700rpm and the power is very useable and such she's reasonably quick.

1 pointLooks ok. Met reserve. Currently just under $10k. But I bet it will get silly towards the end. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2845720085?tm=email&et=45&mt=79F4475F-6C8D-4859-8EC2-79132A4FA124&bof=y9PaWdCs

1 pointA CM5908 went recently on TM for $37... I missed it too sadly. Realistically, they're too old these days to be used for anything other than a restoration project for concurs points, hence their outrageous pricing for refurbed units on ebay.de etc. I know that Cantaloupe Radio were doing bluetooth boards for them that replaced the tape deck, but not a peep from them in the last 18 months. I'd personally go a CD43 out of an E36 (bonus of 4v pre-outs) and run a bluetooth module that replaces the CD changer input. If you really wanted to blow the budget, a new Blaupunkt Bremen SQR-46 might be the ticket.

1 pointNot REAL sad to have said goodbye to my '94 Pug 205gti-c, but I did own it for 13 years and is currently the longest I have ever owned a car (BUT, owned my Aprilia m/cycle for 20 years and counting. 1 owner......me). Sadness mitigated by its replacement -- 1985 Toyota Levin ae86.

1 pointLast one from me - My first V8, got it in 2005 - 1995 VR Series II HSV Senator ?.

1 pointTook the front wheel off to get the tyre swapped to the (hopefully) straight rim, decided to investigate the brake squeal, de-glazed the pads and disc, discovered the bottom inner section of the backing plate had broken its spot welds and was waving around in the breeze, not sure if it was contributing to the noise but it could have been so I cut it off! I briefly considered rewelding it but its aluminum and I didn't want to remove the hub to do it.

1 pointBridgestone R003's ordered from Tony's Tyres, thanks for the tip @Jacko - they have a new outlet literally on my street. I'd actually ordered and paid for a set of Goodyears from Discount Tyres online but they emailed me later and said they couldn't fulfil. That was a pain because I missed the end of Bridgestone's sale (31 Oct) so costs went back up by ~$500 ?. They have been hassle free in processing the refund though, and they've updated their website stock since so credit there. Tony's priced the R003's out at ~$1650 but matched the Bridgestone sale price even though it was finished (there's obviously a good margin on tyres in NZ). 2 x 225/40/18 + 2 x 255/35/18 for $1,208 = $300 a corner which I can't complain about. I'll get them mounted on Friday.

1 pointGot a NZ Post card for parcel non-delivery so signed into the website to organise re-delivery and says unavailable. So following the pick up instruction "collect from X between 8-6pm" I drove an hour thru traffic after work to get there and sign on the door says sorry we will be closing from 1pm as of JULY 2020!!!

1 pointI’ve ordered items from the UK and Auckland on the same day, guess which turned up first...
-
1 pointI know the owner of that car in the UK. It was offered to the club for a song, but as he was the 'pres' he snapped it up for himself, then ruined it with that awful paint and american wheels.

1 pointI've been slowly working on it since I got it, and lately I've been able to do a bit more. So far I've done: Manual swap with Getrag Style 32 wheels 17x8 et20, painted by myself Clear indicators all round Removed rear seats and sound deadening, put black vinyl to cover the rear area Installed front fixedback bucket seats Momo Prototipo steering wheel (my favourite wheel ever) Redid the door cards in white vinyl, with a special touch Removed rear speakers and all amps etc Revshift Polyurethane 95a engine, gearbox and diff mounts Aluminum steering coupler joint thing to replace the rubber flex disc, my friend custom made for me Purple tag steering rack with brand new tie rods (What a difference!) Rear muffler replaced with straight through twin pipe muffler Carbon cold airbox (which I want to improve to feed more cold air) AC deleted and all components from engine side removed Couple more bits here and there

1 pointOh boy I found this while i was cleaning out a computer I sold. @BreakMyWindow and I were lucky enough to be around for the Renaissance of import drag racing. This was my Mitsubishi Libero GT, DECEVR was the plate. I forget all the details, but it was somewhere in the 300kw at the wheels territory and running low 11's, heart breakingly close to 10's, i think 11.1 or 11.3, somewhere around there. In this video I accidently turned up at the Muscle Car drags haha, wiped the floor with a few, dropped lips all around. video-1603942363.mp4

1 pointNot the normal reason for doing a brake conversion, what are you looking at doing on the master cylinder and booster side?
