Some thicc boy must have been the first owner of my car, 'cause he really wore the bolsters and leather. In the 8 years I have owned it, the wear hasn't really changed! I bought this Ali-express leather fixer - and gotta say I am very impressed. These are night time photos so it looks more shiny than IRL - and i have no before's sorry. But before there was crazy cracks, and white line/cracks. Pretty fcked. It needed a filler style fix, and this was literally rub on / dry. Worth a punt...

You're free to leave whenever you want. but would you mind telling us why?

Jason Camisa is a car idiot savant

Duh....

Nice. That was my first thought when I saw it. Keep us updated!

What does that mean? +1. With no heating, leather is cold & slippery in winter, hot in summer.

I know someone with a Yaris. They are pretty cool. Modern Evo/Sti I guess. Many lame new cars can beat e46 m3 in a straight line. Tesla model X p100d can smoke most things you can buy - I'd be embarrassed to drive one. I think most people have now realised 0-100km and 0-400m times are not really the defining measure of a car. (It did used to be - a sub 12s 0-400 was a big deal).

Looks sick dude. You could just go for 'fake suede' since you don't even touch it? https://www.spotlightstores.com/nz/sold-by-the-metre/bari-faux-suede-fabric/BP80327054

Thanks - this sounds like the guy I'm looking for...

Yo, I need a replacement windscreen. I already have an aftermarket one, so I am not going to bother fighting to get an OEM one. A mobile install is very appealing. (Smith & Smith do this apparently). But as we all know getting someone to do a good job (with anything) is hard. Any recommendations either mobile, close to CBD or West Auckland? (just a stock image)

Genuinely curious what that would be?

I'm all for e30's - but there is no way that mtech II is a $50k driving experience. I guess that's not what people are paying for, (but they are so...)

Nice! Are you (still) using this as a daily?

Bit OT, but thought I would post here in case anyone is in the market for an 'enthusiast' cared for ute. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/ford/listing/3081754651?bof=rHiJZv1Z

Why are you considering an e60 (SMG) but not an e90 (DCT)? E46 m3 obviously (not really any smaller than e90) https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/mercedes-benz/listing/3074000407?bof=seIt4NTA https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/lexus/listing/3043434794?bof=9P2DovYb

Anyone running aftermarket springs ? Obviously a lot of overseas chat about which are 'best' - interested in local feedback? I'm really looking for; mild drop (close to standard 'rake' - not a dumped rear) - I'm worried about ramps access Ride quality over 'handling' From what I can tell; King Springs - look pretty low (too low?) Eibach - a lot of people change to H&R? Rear lowers more than front Tein - they green H&R - seem to be the popular choice Safari spec:

Are you meant to cert studs or is it no issue?
-
I reckon it's close to the tipping point where the cost of fuel it's consumed is more than the value of the car.
-
Yeah that's what I was wondering. + Ohlins. Previous owner investing! Be great to see a thread with pics and deets...

Interesting. Major Banks in Auckland don't allow this. The valuer is assigned to you. Regardless, it is good advice to tell the valuer if there is a specific number you need. There is always a 'value range'
-
You can't choose your valuer anymore. The bank will appoint them via a 'clearing house.' For this exact reason.
