@M3_Power any word on availability of tws 10w60? -
Bmw hasn’t just lost the plot, as mentioned it’s the stringent emission standards in Europe and other parts of the world.

2-3 nights a week. Been cooking Ketogenic dishes which has worked really well.

I think you can reasonably assume that at that mileage, it’s clapped out and will need alot of TLC&M.
-
Cars competing in 2kcup are put on the dyno so there’s no point trying to do anything cheeky.

Nicely done Dave. The M rain interior is a definite win imo

Let them fully dry and then lay some clear coat over them, light coats and then a final wet coat. Makes race car scale models look a bit more convincing.

Wasn't there an issue with early models in this generation breaking crankshafts? The cog for the timing gear shears off at the front end of the crank? -
More like change to keep it maintained..
-
Looks really tidy but a fair bit of work interior wise to return it back to factory original if you're that way inclined.

Awesome, now for an LSD to harness that new found grunt! -
Anyone have the diff and subframe bush kit similar to one above for e39 available for rent?
-
No more stone chips.... until next road trip. have had a good run out of this car in the nearly 3 years of ownership. Some niggly things but no massive bills. It must be able to read my mind as the diff will be coming out soon.

You shouldn't need to be replacing that main chain tensioner so often. They're a pretty simple design and the only thing I can think of that would cause it to not do its job is A if the spring failed and if B the oil passage became blocked. It does sound like the one installed when you had the guides etc done was faulty. Did you compare it to the new one you installed ?

I see @jeffbebe 's old 540i around on Mayoral Drive in the CBD quite often. Still has the BBS RS wheels on it so don't think it's this one in the link.
-
That one had spun big end bearings. Was bought and fixed up by @Lachie I believe.
-
That's why I said it could be, not that it is.

$10 says it's for sale within 2 months. JK. Nice car! These engines feel like a torquey v8 rather than a six. 0 lag.
-
I think @HELLBM owned this one a while ago? Or similar spec.
-
Yep, Penrite 10w40 full synth is $48 at ripco too.

E39 M5 power without the power button on. Good results!
