I prefer smart chargers for my phones. Old style chargers like those above are far too slow. Needs to support at least QC4 or QC4+ protocol. Thermal balancing is a good idea especially if you phone is dash mounted and in the sun. I got one of these for the dashcam. https://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-photography/video-cameras/car-cameras/listing-3091451981.htm?rsqid=4101486e6ab64e2f9f16119e5f8c3050-002

Yeah I agree. First one I had was like that. Second one I got was by Anker. Has a built in battery and Wifi. https://goroav.com/ Not bad to be honest. I did have a firmware issue with one. But the support was very good and sent me a new one overnight (USA).

Oh and make sure the power source you give it actually switches off with the car. I had a dashcam in my E46 and the cig lighter port never turned off. So it never went into sleep mode.

Can't you just get one to plug into your head unit?

What do you have left from the IS? I wouldn't mind some spares depending on condition. Though it must have been in a sorry state for you to strip it. They are starting to go up in value.

Is importing a car from Oz to here a nightmare?
Driftit replied to Kodachrome's topic in General Discussion
If you can take ownership and leave it there with your brother for year you could avoid GST. Probably go up in value too. -
Just to be straight. I couldn't care less where you come from. What does Chinesium mean? Chinesium is a made up element, not found on the periodic table, which was invented as a blanket term for every cheap material (metal, plastic, ceramic) originating from China, manufactured at a low quality to decrease production costs and to maximize profits.

Looks nice. Just seems really short. As you said it might just be the angle. Have a weighted momo knob in the S13. Works well.

Why does that gear stick look so chode like?
-
Yeah contact @promo He will be able to do this for you no worries.

Bimmergeeks is better. At least then you can use the adapter outside of their own software.
-
Looking forward to getting my hoist. And no more chinesium stands or tools.

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
Driftit replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
Good series car. Rip all that junk off it and throw a cage in her. -
Anything from Bimmergeeks. Their stuff just works. You can use their software (extra cost) or they have some guides on how to use their gear with ISTA and INPA which can be found for free. They take a bit to learn whilst the bimmergeeks software is easy.

It's one of those things that unless it is cheaper, the same price, or I am driving past. I wouldn't bother going out of my way to get. Car won't be tuned for it. And if it was you would need to live near by.

My old man has had an E55 AMG since new. Still has it. Is a great car and probably one of the best towing vehicles on the road. But most of the E55's here are Jap imports that flooded in around 2008 to 2010. They were dirt cheap which put them into the hands of people who could not afford to maintain them. Be very careful what you buy. I also once argued that an E30 is superior to an MX5 in every way. However now they are far more expensive than an MX5... I think I would still have an E30 over one though.

Permission was not immediately granted. However I am working on it.

Oh I missed this. Have asked permission from wife to buy.

I would like to recommend an E30 M325i. You might just be able to fit one into your budget..... Hahaha sorry I couldn't help myself. I would say the E60 M5. You don't have to own it forever. Just have some fun for a year or so and move onto something new. If the prices stay silly any maintenance should be covered by the vehicles increase in value if kept tidy. The potential for incredible exhaust notes.

Sometimes BP Taupo mixes their 98 with water. That was a great experience.
