3 cars and a house with AA, have only claimed a few small things but they have been okay to deal with.

I figured that E39 530 diesel would save us $200 per 10,000km over the petrol model. Decided to go the petrol route because 1: Diesels cost more to purchase and 2: you can't buy one, because nobody wants to sell theirs Still want that midrange torque though...

Talking to my wifes uncle today about his late model X5 3.0d- 30,000km between oil changes, and what comes out actually resembles what goes in, it isn't the thin black liquid one might expect. Modern engine and expensive oil, perhaps; he did mention the dealer charged $200 for the oil for each service -
Ended up going okay in the end- Andy I have split folding rear seats so access was good. Chucked the stupid moronic retarded piece of junk imperial bolts and associated crap in the bin and went with some much stronger 8.8 grade metric ones.

Attempted to install seat anchors for baby seats in E39 parcel shelf, anyone else had trouble doing this? Pretty sure the bolts need to be more like 60mm long, not the piddly 30mm ones supplied . And dammit, what is this 5/16'' (or whatever it is) sh*t, out here in the normal world we use the metric system!
