I dont know about the software version but can confirm on my E91 it would come up with gear number on Drive mode (D1-D6 as mentioned) as well as in sport and manual modes.

Manual swap the black 2dr

Jesus, what a bloody nightmare. It was running so well! Looking into the hole with the motor removed you could visibly see wear/cupping on the teeth that engage with the motor. Im not sure what "normal" looks like, so not sure if it was excessive. New motor/gasket was fitted and end stops were learned with INPA with no issues.

Speaking of Apps, can anyone confirm for @NZ_InFerno that Carly can register a new battery?

Blardy kids, ruining the fun.

Um, what? Your bargain hunting game must be on point!
-
Wow, way to be a dick about it. Plenty of people have done it before without issue, but do what you like.
-
I don't want to be pedantic, but yes you can remove and reinstall the drain plug without issue. May not be designed to, but I had no issue with it (did a drain and refill before dropping the pan).

Congrats on the sale and purchase, but cant help but laugh at you not enjoying your M3 for risk of damaging it, and then buying an NSX. The NSX is god level compared to an M3 ? But at the end of the day, its just a car. Fang it and enjoy it.

Eww, replacing Sport seats with comfort seats. Nope.

I know how its done, my point is that almost zero painters are going to bother going to those efforts to paint an engine bay, and then refit new OEM stickers. They're more likely to paint it gloss and make it look "nice" since its so much effort to do. I concur on orange peel on modern cars though, some of them are shocking.
-
Even a "proper repaint" makes me suspicious. To get that perfect OEM satin finish without filling in the stampings for the vin.... I wouldnt touch, especially considering that manual NZDM one that sold the other day for not much more. Higher KM, sure, but a much less dodgy prospect.
-
Hmm, if thats the case, why does the engine bay look like it was factory black? Topaz is obvious in the engine bay Topaz is a WAY better colour than black.
-
Voltage dropping to 9V is a pretty sure sign its FUBAR. I wouldnt bother looking too far without replacing the battery first.
-
Lol, if you think BMWs are unreliable, its nothing compared to a Maserati Alfa. My 156 made my British classics look reliable and rust free.
-
Low KM and jap import means nothing, its a false economy. Could mean its done huge engine hours sitting in start stop traffic, wearing out 1st and 2nd in the trans, or it does a lot of short, cold, trips. My first E36 was flogged out despite having 72,000km on the clock. Jap import. Jatco box was buggered (worse than most with twice as many KM), bushes and joints were floppy.

We have a 159 at work at the moment that has had money spent on it hand over fist and it's still finding ways to not work. Currently (heh) has a mystery current draw. Gorgeous cars, but big nope to owning one. My 156 was a great car to look at and drive, but it was also an endless source of issues.

Only real way to tell is to load test the battery or check voltage when the car is running and see if the alt is charging it. If you don't know the age of the battery, it's probably given up and dropped a cell.
-
There are an awful lot of expensive bad stories though....
-
Its an utterly gorgeous car, just a shame the seller is a right diddle.
-
That looks really nice, and a much more solid prospect than anything N54 powered. Looks like a nice spec too. Good choice.
-
What a f**king joke. I would love to buy it if its around when I sell my car, but wouldnt want to give that a**hole the pleasure of having my money. No doubt it will be around when my car is for sale though, even if that is months away...

I test drove a C55 a while back and despite being reflashed I was left feeling very unimpressed. Not fast, very lazy, but made good noises. Didnt handle that well either, felt too heavy for its size. I wonder if the supercharged V6 is a bit more urgent in its power delivery?
-
Interesting. Wonder if thats the reason i'm still waiting on a couple of normal mail items from the UK that were sent almost two months ago.
-
Wow, I'm watching that on tardme. Looks like a nice well sorted car in the listing. I wonder if they fixed the rusty sill and cracked chassis?
