Several good looking F11's popping up lately. Hard to believe the oldest ones are 11 years old now, it really is a nice looking car.

If the labour govt keeps doing things, I wouldn’t rule out emissions testing on WOF. I feel a bit uneasy about deliberately bypassing emissions tech too...YMMV obviously

The BMW's appeared to be the only understated cars there

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

This is the crux of it - at least us plebs will have an idea of what this one is 'worth' -

Oh yeah! That is lovely @Sammo. Clearly been a garage queen, no paint fade. -
Who did you use for this @Herbmiester? I've got the same engine in mine although it does almost no short running so hopefully not required for a little while...

Those front seat covers 🤮

Jap import F01 Alpina B7 in dark blue / black at the Island Bay shops on the way home. Biiiiig wheels!

@E30 325i Rag-Top ready for takeoff? 🤨

Probably someone who's owned an N54 powered car might be able to give you more insight? @KwS I'd personally steer clear of the Activehybrid - seems like something that'd expensively bork itself. There's a reason the x35i versions sell for more than the Activehybrid.

There's plenty of F31 335d's on tardme atm, they'd have no problem towing! coils and plugs aren't cheap on the n54, turbo wastegates can go and potentially a fair bit of deferred mantainance as they're now 12-13 years old. the ones that have been in nz for a little while are liable to have been thrashed...
-
N55 less tunable but probably more reliable. F11 doesn't feel that quick but the e91 335i facelift is probably the sweetspot. F31 335i are hard to find.

'Rear wang' says it all... -
Been there done (doing) that with the N57 (in my 335d). Want a V8 in a (relatively modern) BMW touring while I still can - without dumping 200k into an Alpina B5

At least I won't look like (Moby) Dick in the carbon black one...

Another one! This one is LCI version with updated N63TU engine - 330kw and <5 secs 0-100. I actually spotted the above car in Welly the other day. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3012016802?bof=2iFO8KB2 57k very strong money given what f10 M5 can be had for these days. I'd certainly be interested at low-mid 40's.

Or rod bearings...or vanos...

@Olaf I'm not sure there's anything worse than an S85 V10 for fuel economy...
-
@TermiPeteNZ you are a very brave man (daily'ing an S63 and a V10 as your weekend car!) - either that or you have a majority interest in Z.

Looking good and happy to see it's back on the road. Can't have been too many white E46 tourings sold NZ new...

Even with other brands of trailer controller, it should be possible to tell the car to disable the pdc (may still do it automatically) - my F31 has an Erich Jaeger CANBUS controller and it disables automatically. I don't think any other specific coding was required.

A new type of E36 😂
-
No Xenons was very common with NZ new cars of this era - even otherwise nicely specced LCI E9x 330i / 335d missed out on them. Dad says it's the only thing he doesn't like about his E91 320d...

Agree chunky rear arches improve it quite a bit. I love the idea of an M3 Touring but an M340i is certainly better to look at from the front.
-
I don't think I've ever seen a car (not SUV) where 19's look totally under-wheeled / lost in the arches before
