  1. I test drove a RWD 330d when I was in the market, actually feels faster in some situations than the 335d because of the power delivery/boost with the bigger single turbo. The x-drive is not too intrusive, just a bit of extra fuel use and the bigger turning circle in town - and potentially service costs. The DSC is quite permissive in sport / sport +, can feel the power shuffling to the front and pulling you out of the corner on a wet road.
  2. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/3/listing/3793864853 This is probably best bet if you aren't fussed on mileage (although it's at the trade-in warehouse and it's been there a while so would need a good PPI). The NZ new 330d's (except for a few pre-production cars) and all 335d's (which weren't ever sold new here) are x-drive though.
  3. lovely...appears to have had a new cluster at some point though no discrepancy in the odo readings.
  4. I can read it...ergo he won't be entering medical practice anytime soon
  5. There’s been several F31 330d with similar Km for less money, you’d have to really want the NZ new one to pay 23k
  6. The ones I've had refurbed have already started to go again so cbf repeating...
  7. @Bennyboy trademe atm is mainly people who fancy their arbitrage skillz (may end up bag holding though)
  8. Decatted diesel utes (old hiluxes / landcruiser 70's / discovery) belching black smoke + 100dB exhaust noise everywhere they go can FRO. We should get emissions testing here...

Assuming it's a non-sport PFL 535i Front shocks https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/product/3764-new?product=31311096848 Rear shocks https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/33521094467M-meyle-shockabsorber Have a look on Real OEM with your VIN
  10. Interestingly interior looks in way better shape on the blue one despite double the km
  11. Sorry @Kees but I want more pics of the 540iT!

Nice one. Think it'll be better on a nice set of Style 32's once you've put the suspension back to stock? Surely part of the appeal of a cruiser like this is that it rides properly. Manual V8 is always a win though
  13. A spare litre of Shell helix 5W30 LL-01 spec. Come take it off my hands, left over from an oil change a few months ago. Pickup from Northland, WLG
  14. Any recommendations for powder coating wheels in Welly? The diamond cut finish on mine has a case of corrosion under the lacquer (which seems inevitable). Thinking of getting them redone in factory ferric grey uni.
  15. @Neil McCauley you may well be right, Sreten of M539 has a set in his latest E39 touring restoration...they're not very well bolstered though.
  16. I know beggars can't be choosers with E39 M5 spec but the sunroof and comfort seats spoil it for me, should have sports seats IMO (can't imagine many people deliberately despecced them). Price looks decent though
  17. Surprising really, wouldn’t have valued it much above 75k?
  18. you might want to add a link? N53 is trouble c.f. N52 or even the turbocharged ones, seems the injectors and NOX sensor are prone to issues and new ones are $$$$ if you can find them
  19. Leather sports seats and an LSD ftw...assuming both of those items were cheaper than they would be for an E30? Love these E34's - there's a manual 525ix touring around the corner that I'm contemplating putting a 'will you sell me your car?' note on
  20. Definitely should be 12 months. pre-2000 is the current cutoff for 6 month WOF
  21. @Kees those Style 216 rims really suit it, prefer them to the standard 17/18's. LMB is the best colour I think. With a new bumper you shouldn't have much trouble moving it on.
  22. Experienced this shambolic bit of administration first hand today. SH2 is 80kph between Featherston and Carterton despite being the straightest widest piece of road in the area...but turn off onto a secondary road and 100kph is fine. NZTA can get f**ked
  23. Jon (and Auto38) are now in Marton - sadly for those of us of us still in Welly
