3 pointsDecided to coat the covers myself. Went with 600 degree primer, sand stone grey and flat black engine paint. Waiting for the sand stone to dry, then will do a final coat or two of flat black.

2 pointsPersonally, I would not let my kids drive a car without ABS and airbags - yes I know the knockers will say 'teach them to drive properly' but why would you not want the safest thing for them? I helped my son buy his first car - a Starlet with ABS and Airbag, glad I did, he had 2 accidents, one major - car was written off, he was fine - not sure how safe an E30 would be ? He then bought a E36 with airbags - no accidents in that one thankfully

1 pointThis build of E30s (and other German cars of that age) is a factor. Many cars from Japan of that era feel like they're made of tin foil and tissue paper.

1 pointI seem to recall a crash test in the 90's, where a Hyundai Sonata and a VW Polo where crashed into each other. While both had airbags, the Polo afforded FAR more protection than the much larger Hyundai. Potentially, the Polo without airbags may have actually been better than the Hyundai with??? I sold an 96 Legacy wagon (NA) I had to a 16 year old girl touring the country. She was looking at the Legacy, or a Starlet. A week or so after I sold it, the girls aunty phoned to thank me for talking them into a bigger car - the girl was turning across SH1, and pulled across the path of a car, and the front left of the legacy was hit so hard, it spun fast enough for the back corner to hit the same car! An airbag in the steering wheel would have done nothing/little, but luckily, the legacy took the brunt, and only gave her some massive bruising from the seatbelt, and minor cuts from glass and flying plastic. I can't imagine a Starlet/Logo/Mirage etc for similar money, doing anywhere near as well. I'd certainly be looking at crash data etc, if I was concerned about safety.

1 pointHaving my brothers missus work at Silver Fern Farms means I get heaps of cheap steak. Only downside is that I have to cut it up myself and I would make a sh*t butcher.

1 pointhaha thanks man. Yes its coming along nicely now with having afternoons off to do some fabrication. And its always great motivation having positive feedback from fellow forum members, because sometimes it can seem that weeks go by and there hasn't been much progress, so the motivation is good

1 pointWell, another 6 months passed! Apart from take it for a WOF (passed straight through as usual), only thing I have done to it is buy a new battery for it. Original BMW one buggered out about 18 months ago, so had an old temp one i had sitting here, but was already at the end of its life. New Yuasa battery and shes golden. Would love to have an OEM BMW one in there, but the price... and what is probably new old stock on a battery, i didnt want to take the gamble. Oh and also fitted new brake light switch, so thats probably a good thing! Picked up two very nice Clarion units as well over my time and need to fit one of them into this car too, the sony that is in there is quite in the eye sore in the dash! John and I just recieved some pics from a shoot we did in January, he has posted more in his thread, here are a couple of mine. Big thanksto Jessy Penelon for the photos!! also heaps more on this link: https://imageshack.com/a/dck4/1

1 pointYou were telling me like 3 days ago how much you think I should put cats in my e30 exhaust so it doesn't smell. I sense sarcasm.
