2 pointsLike most cars, launch control will cause extra wear on the components. However if you just floor it off the line it is pretty aggressive. So much so that I never use LC.

2 pointsGetting M20 timing belt on 5 min after making a grumpy post in the rant thread. Just had to keep better tension on the long side of the belt and shift the cam gear about 0.5mm to one side. I love having a project car in the garage. Happy Tuesday everybody

2 pointsToday I replaced these which were stuffed. Then I replaced this which bolts on. With this which has push button release. And it started to rain so thats all for today.

2 pointsTime for another M something. Yeah. The X5 is .... too good. At everything. It's boring. It's the weight plus grip. it's incredible. bucketing down I'm doing twice the speed of any other car on the road with no problems. I think it's the perfect car for when I'm 60.

2 pointsE30 timing belts. I have it looped around the camshaft and crank pulley, but am short those vital 2mm to get it over the tensioner

1 pointits not just a case of cheap cars being on the road with average tyres but a much much bigger picture. to keep it as simple as possible, consider this: it costs me $5 one way from my house to the city and $5 back home. luckily for me the train only takes about 20 minutes but if i were to take the bus, it would be a 50 minute trip one way. so thats $10 a day, and for 5 days a week its $50 just for public transport. I could easily cover the same distance with $30 of petrol. of course parking costs are insane which leads people to use the public transport system but if i was having to commute say to somewhere with free parking (company provided carpark or else) then there is absolutely no reason to use the public transport. I could easily buy a pos $1000 car and drive it daily with $30 petrol. it works out cheaper than taking the bus. its way too easy to buy a car and for cheap, people who really shouldnt be owning cars can, and because they already stretched their financial situation for the car, its no wonder they dont have or dont care about good tyres (or even basic servicing for that matter) i highly doubt that there will be any significant law change that actually rectify this kind of situation.. unless they ban all cars over 10 years old or something crazy like that

1 pointFor 15k being spent on an e30 that isn't an M3, or 327i etc, you'd expect an absolutely immaculate example. e30 tax is a thing, people are charging a premium price simply because they're popular with the "stance scene" in recent years. That price often doesn't take into account the condition of the vehicle. I think you're a bit tunnel-visioned on wanting to buy a car ASAP, as opposed to shopping around and waiting for the perfect car (that fits your budget) to come along. Multiple people have stated that the e30 you're interested in (black ///m325i) isn't in the greatest condition, the current owner drives it with gusto, and it doesn't appear to run 100% right. Take that into account as you'll be spending more money on the car in the near future if you decide to purchase it.

1 pointWas in Oz a few weeks ago and they have this channel on foxtel. Were some not bad shows. Spent a few hours watching it instead of going clothes shopping. Think I made the right choice!
-
1 pointmore than half in that little preview were UK shows. I too cant be bothered with Chip Foose. hes had a great career, built some nice cars, not a bad show, and knows his stuff. But still the kind of guy i would dislike within minutes of meeting i am sure.

1 pointDarren The launch control is similar to a 4000 rpm progressive manual take off. Ive only used it a couple of times (cone time trials) as I'm concerned about the rear subframe with continued use. (haven't reinforced mine yet) I'd imagine the clutch wear would be higher . I hear about clutch and flywheels be changed at 100,000 kms but not sure why .

1 pointWould hope you will seriously readdress his asking price. He is in noddy land with the car condition v his price. Good luck

1 pointGot ridiculously anxious while waiting for the next chance to duck outside. Took me a long time to realise normal people didn't regard two 25 packs of Marlboro red and a triple shot XXL long black as an acceptable breakfast. Quite enjoying not coughing up red streaks every morning too!

1 pointIn case you want something a little different my father will need to sell our much loved 2002 Bauer Cabriolet soon. It had full Jaymic resto in UK before bringing it back here and still pretty tidy. Has twin dellortos and mild alpina cam and bilsteins so goes nicely. PM if interested.

1 pointHi guys, I don't want to but I have to. I need to sell my 1992 E34 Touring manual. The car has the M50B25 engine under the hood and is stock everywhere. There is a little wrong with her, A little bit of rust (about a $2 coin size), A weird squealing from the rear, and some missing / damaged interior parts (Ash trays etc.), A few scratches and small dent in passenger side fender. The car is currently on 254000 ks but will go up as I'm driving as a daily. I m open to swaps preferably for another BMW. Diesel?. I don't have a price in mind at the moment but It's gonna take a fair one as I am quite attached. Have attached some photos Cheers,

1 pointInstalled a set of (alleged) Schnitzer chips for a friend's 1991 diamond schwarz 850i. Of course, we had to test them and find a nice backdrop for some early evening photos...
-
1 pointInstalled some schnitzer chips in a mate's 850i. Tested it and parked up for some pics in the early evening sun next to mine.

1 pointHave been seeing an hart specialist for the last 12 years, 2and a half year ago one side was only working 56%, and he told me to stop smoking, I did not stop. a 30 packet every 2days. 6 Months ago it was down to 44%, if it go's down to 40% the LTSA will take my commercial licence away. I went cold turkey, stopped drinking no more sugar drinks no fatty foods, medication for the rest of my live and i lost 15kg. went back yesterday for check up and I am back up to 50%. The wife stop smoking today keep fingers cross.

1 pointSounds like my wife, ever since I showed her the ESP off, she loves luring JDMs in to the lights and smokes the sh*t up. Reckon it's a hoot

1 pointFrom what I`ve seen on the bmw groups on facebook I`d stay away from the black one. It's owned by a teenager in auckland and according to people who have seen it around it isn't treated very well and often driven to the limiter etc. Despite that, M20s are tough so probably nothing wrong with it.
