7 pointsTaking my labouring missus to the maternity hospital in an E30 and bringing home my shiny new baby boy in the E39. Winning!
-
4 pointsBut if it makes everyone feel better, I'll just go ahead and purchase pretinted ones.. Didn't think I'd get this much flack on BS for doing it.
-
3 pointsMy useful input ended roughly 42 weeks ago! 3 eh? I can't decide if you're braver or stupider than I

2 pointsWhen getting an older car inspected it can be a bit off putting receiving the overwhelming report of things that are not correct. When i picked up my new car I made a list of things to check prior. Big ticket items i.e brakes, suspension, body work, the engine. Choice of tyre is usually a good indicator of how the po has looked after their 'Ultimate repair bill machine'.

2 pointsIts been a little while, but split between 2 cars progress has been a little slow, there has been progress though. The 328I has been driving around as a manual for 3 odd months now with no dramas! success! i have also got a few new bits for the interior, #1 gear shift boot as my conversion came without one #2 handbrake boot to match (maybe a little cheesy, but hey a like it and its mine) and #3 some new front seats also with ///M stripes matching the handbrake and shift boots. so yes, the love it or hate is e36 seats... VADERS FIT A SEDAN. it was one long wait to find some black leather ones in good condition, but it was defiantly worth it. and as a plus the leather stitched door cards from the offending M3 have replaced the haddit ones in my M3, Stoked! also better camera this time around.
-
2 pointsjust fitted 2 brand new grilles, will be taking some more photos over the weekend and putting on TM, not really in a rush to sell it now until the M5 is back on the road...
-
2 points"'ere, Bert, it's Fred. Need a WoF. Rego is BMWX33 - get the details offa Carjam, eh? I'll buy yer a pint later. Churz."
-
2 pointsOn topic if you'd like someone to 'look after' your M3 while you are away let me know - I'll make sure the battery doesn't go flat :-)
-
2 points728i are generally pretty crap spec, unless you get an import one like maybe a singapore one, but then they have thier own problems.

1 pointHi. I have a 2007 335i. Very nice car. The thinking man's M3. Very reliable. Replaced a faulty HPFP (common fault). Replaced with OEM Pierburg from Euro Italian for about $400 plus fitting. Also the trans oil pans leak (common E90 problem). I replaced the run flats with Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2. More comfortable and a better performing tyre than pretty much anything except PZero (at twice the price). I have just recently remapped the ECU with a JB4. Now putting out 400HP on aggressive tune setting. Still getting used to this. Lots of low end torque now, losing traction in 3rd gear. A great mod for USD500.

1 pointDamn that one sounds like a great buy and potentially in excellent condition. Pity the photos suck, guy needs some help with uploading full size photos...

1 pointI'm trying to avoid the down time. Hopefully someone on here has one. Otherwise may have to send it to the diff builders and might might as well get an LSD put in at the same time
-
1 pointIts been a while since I posted anything so thought I would share a vid of a recent track day. Its the second time I have driven on a track, last time was 6 years ago, so excuse the poor lines etc https://youtu.be/F86YQJDol6s Project wise things have stalled since my little one was born and I have distracted myself with another garage project.

1 point"Car will not be moving until genuine buyer is sort" So the car hasn't been driven since Jan 2013? Eek.

1 pointThey have all 5 seasons on watchseries.ag so I'll have a look tonight.. Will watch a couple and post back tomorrow. Looks interesting though. OK, 3 episodes into season 1. Awesome show. Farm trucks my favorite. Just because it's a total sleeper.. You never guess that things so fast..lol
-
1 pointThere's some stuff on YouTube but if you get into it I'd advise to download and start from season 1 cause each season they get faster and faster and there's the resulting carnage along the way

1 pointfaaaa that looks good. the wheels look great on the pheonix yellow. not sure why this colour gets so much hate i reckon its pretty nice
-
1 pointI don't think there is any racing in March next year for the series.
-
1 pointI'd like to know who they got a WOF for that X3 from...
-
1 pointNot flack! Just a warning based on personal experience of insurance vs 'illegal' mods! The rule is pretty ridiculous that a factory tinted with potentially lower light output is fine and an aftermarket tint is not, but insurers will use what they can to avoid paying out!
-
1 pointInteresting. A guy at my work who liked my E60 then went and purchased an 05 X3. It broke down on the way home from the dealer. Two coil packs had died. Not more than a week later he went on a road trip and was stranded with his family in Keri Keri. Went into limp mode and gearbox was not sounding good. Ended up costing around $5000 to sort that issue. Not sure what it was exactly. With many an argument he returned the car for a full refund and they covered all his expenses of having to hire a rental car etc. Went and purchased a Honda Acco..yawn.. But will not ever purchase another BMW due to this poor experience. Just another neglected BMW
-
1 pointThere is definately a way of doing it, as I have done it before when leaving the kids in the car.. Buggered if I remember how to do it though, it should be in the handbook. it is something like the double press that Allan said above.
-
1 pointI saw you bought that. If you find a bellhousing you are onto a winner I reckon. I wasn't brave enough / don't have enough time / don't actually need it.

1 pointYea same photos, taking new ones this week as needed to get it up and listed. Had to replace the front as it got whacked by a log which fell off a truck. Got the same front from the US, but yes unfortunately the splitters got damaged. fresh cut and polish and wheels re-skimmed, it's looking good now. you built a great car and i'd love to hold on to it.
-
1 pointSeriously considered a E38 728i at one point. Really nice-looking, well-appointed cars, and the 728i is (relatively) economical. At 100km/h, what is the difference between it and a 750? (Other than the ability to disappear over the horizon!) At the time, the extra flexibility of the wagon meant we decided against and stuck with our venerable 320d Touring.

1 pointi already knew that the photos were julians old pictures from his sale. I too have seen it a few months back and it was no where near in the condition as it once was re-using old pictures and description doesnt give a good impression to me (but in all fairness no one else would know except us)
-
1 pointSometimes this kind of thing is the lord punishing those for buying cars like X1s, X3s, E90 320i, 120i and the like that are known to be cheaper, below par compared to a 'proper' BMW of the past. I know a guy that asked me for advise on a new car, went against what I said and bought a 320i, 6 months later he has various problems the dealership don't want to know about.

1 pointIf the mod is illegal (such as tinting) won't matter if it had nothing to do with the accident. Not a grey area, just because it passes a WOF it doesn't certify or legalise it. Yes (and sorry - have been burnt myself so know how it works!)
-
1 pointoh sh*t. somebody's 'wrong' on the internet... #; ) yep, they wanted it auto. might have had two legs and one arm! or just hated manual. who cares, hopefully they enjoyed driving. And chose an M3 as their selected tool.

1 pointGood old supply and demand, while supply on this puppy might be low, Im thinking that demand is in an even lower space. Rarity itself doesn't make it expensive Now if BMW made an M7 that might be a different story Still why would you only put 1 pic up ! Dumb
-
1 pointI dont think BMW have much of an opinion about this, the unit has worked far longer than the warranty period of the car so its hard to see why they would care...they are in it to make money after all. They did seem quite happy to sell me 2 new units
-
1 pointRemoved the roof rails and installed the delete kit to replicate the `concept touring`.
-
1 pointI am going to take your advice and change the listing to represent the positives and actual spec. I'm going to take some better photos too. Thanks!

1 pointThey're made in china, most of the ones on ebay are anyway. I was quite impressed by the quality/finish of them.

1 pointDoes anyone know if a good CSL wheel replica is available on NZ shores? I'm quite liking the look of this (from the depths of the internet):
