After new rear control arms, spring pads and bump stops this week. I was finally able to complete the installation of my refurbished rear deck and new child seat anchors. Everything went back together so nicely. Only Slight trouble had was with getting the rear deck in with the new brackets in place it needed a bit of extra finessed encouragement part way through sliding it in to place to clear them.

I should have done this a long time ago ... The resilience of Bimmersport to still be chugging along today, is a testament to our passionate members, the still dedicated admins, and a number of very important individuals. It really proves that there is value here for enthusiastic bmw owners and that this site deserves to have some life breathed back into it. There is an immense amount of information in the archives and there is still an active member base, although not as active as it once was. Unfortunately the current owners, Andrew and myself can't give bimmersport the attention that it deserves, and haven't been able to for some time. Therefore I'm interested to hear from anyone who is keen to take over the running of the site, or interested in buying it. It requires a leader who can dedicate time and effort into re-establishing bimmersport as the best online car community in New Zealand. Selecting and managing an admin team Maintaining the Website / Forum Building and managing Bimmersports social media and online presence Promoting and running great events Selling Advertising (online & offline) to fund the running of the site Nurturing and developing the bimmersport brand Managing Finances I'm open to working out a deal with the right person/s. If you're interested please email me ollie@bimmersport.co.nz with a bit of info about who you are, why you're interested, and in what capacity. I'll do my best to reply to emails within a reasonable timeframe, but please excuse me if I'm a bit slow, I'm travelling a lot. Cheers Ollie

Hi all, After another set of wheels to suit a E36. Must be 17 x 7.5 and fit over E46 330 front brakes. Ideal would be a pair or more of Style 68 fronts or similar. Can travel/arrange shipping across the North Island. With or without tyres is fine. Thanks, Nathan

in the late 70's we had interesting developments. Against a backdrop that included hippies and quickly transitioned to Kill ALL Hippies, (and soon punk as a complete backlash), some clever europeans had been (quite literally) plugging away in their studios, and enjoying some commercial success... airplay in addition to Baby Boomers showing off their flash new HiFi systems (accessible in the 1970's for the first time ever) with whatever fine-sounding vinyl they could get their hands on... and toward the end of the decade, increasingly affordable synthesisers. The race was on. The Germans seemed to celebrate their high speed concrete motorways with the global hit 'Autobahn',, and the Frenchman... well, he was picked up by French airline UTA and spent his advert money on wild disembodied heads music videos.. in 1976! And a crazy veeeeeeeee-neck jumper. Meanwhile Bowie had decided - after shovelling a mountain of charlie up his hooter (and slipped in creation of a couple of great albums such as Young Americans and Station to Station) - to shoot through from the states to in search of pastures new. You've all heard Station to Station, so I'll put Stay (from the same album) here instead... oh lordy, GREAT players, funk, swing, this song is virtuoso Bowie. And a stark contrast to the Frenchman and the Germans, who seemed a bit pedestrian. Now Bowie has immersed himself in Berlin at Hansa Studios (with a steady supply of smack), producing the three coolest albums of his very cool career. And this is where it gets odd; yes in a truth that's stranger than fiction, they all start thinking about trains! Iggy Pop (who's been hanging out in Berlin with Bowie), also thinking about trains matybe, with his masterpiece The Passenger... And now the Germans now start singing (robotically chanting?) about the Trans Europe Express... (inspired by Station to Station?), and in an odd twist they plug David Bowie and Iggy Pop, and even give them a cameo in their new music video! and Bowie gets further out there in Berlin (it's still Cold War Berlin)... and he's getting even more brilliant in the studio with Brian 'Squelchy' Eno! Just listen to Sound and Vision, it's astonisihing more than forty years later. You know that track backwards so here's Joe the Lion: Perhaps he's taking stock, or thinking about his next move? The Germans (Kraftwerk) clearly got a hipness boost from all of this, as The Man Machine contained the timeless classic The Model. Meanwhile, in North London a nerdy guy sitting in his bedroom mixed in the Bowie influence and came up with something very unusual... ... And some lads from South London were clearly influenced by Bowie (and earlier Roxy Music)... and in 1979 they released Quiet Life (this is a later video for the album's re-release) Oh man, it's enough to explode the heads of MoR radio listeners!

Ok so now it's not pitch black I popped the bonnet and had a look, Some wise ass didn't plug in the coolant level sensor. Warning light gone One more problem to fix lol

Just bought an e91, and there's a minor issue i'm curious about The low coolant light comes on when i first start the car, and also when i kill the engine after driving I've got full service history on it, the last service was pretty meticulous, and he said that light only started coming on after that service and they said something about having to bring it back in to reset the service light or something? I've checked the coolant, it's full, done a full trip in it to auckland and back and no dramas. Do I reset this with the brake + hold ODO to access service options? Or do i need to get someone with a tool to reset something How do i figure out if there is a faulty sensor

Hi Guys, Just brought a M325i and wish to find a few of the BMW e30 performance bibles that people may have lying around and want to get rid of It's fairly tidy and all complete but will be a rolling restoration with the eventual aim to fit a stroker kit but keep it standard looking. Cheers

Off season update.... so today I spent the day in the workshop/garage finishing off the new front splitter. 50mm smaller than the first one. Ordered a new set of brake pads with a compound BP30 from wildwood . got know idea how this will pan out , but what I got now is hard work. clutch stop ... the big one thou is the ass end has dropped 25mm . I've taken off/out the 2 adjustable rings that sit on top of the spring. Rack is now ?% If I measure distance from the jack points to the ground , fronts is 140mm rear is 150mm. I've manipulated the inner guards again , this time with adjustable pliers and a hammer no grinder. the picture with my hand flat, before the guard was near the top of my fingers, now I can get 4 fingers in it. 3.5 maybe Glad I have removable fiberglass guards.

To all those who don’t believe in the E92 M3 and those contemplating buying one, just do it, after you find the right one of course. Searched for almost three years for my NZ new Competition Pack, found it, bought it, love it. I have just completed a 2200 kms road trip in 96 hours around the North Island. Loved every second of it; main roads, back roads, cruising, hooning. The car is capable, quick and an absolute pleasure to drive. The last sector of my road trip was Mercer to Whangarei - 215 kms at cruising and ‘slightly’ over legal speeds. 18 litres of 98. Unless I’m mistaken that’s 8.4 l/100kms. That is hard to believe from a car with grunt to burn, a noise to die for, and an M3 badge on its tail. Don’t know anything about the 335i but this I do know, as my BMW mechanic tried to push me that way as well, a 335i is not and never will be an M3.

Don't know this wagon specifically, but have bought an X3 (a petrol, manual and also UK import) and E60 M5 (what a beast!) from this dealer previously. Dealt with Andrew (who owns the business) directly both times and he made it a simple and easy process. Too easy actually ?. He also provided excellent after sales service and sorted issues promptly. I have no vested interest in Euroland other than as a previous repeat customer. Give them a call if you're interested - nothing gained, nothing lost ☺️. Hope this helps!

After that, things went on hold for a few months while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do for wheels. A little while ago, I picked up a 5 lug adapter kit from a r3vlimited user. I was planning to use it on the coupe, but then abandoned that idea when I got a front RX7 brake kit (designed for the factory 4 lug). Well, I was still hoping to use the RX7 brakes on the touring with the TRM C1 wheels. But that would require spacers (nope), or chopping the front struts up and having the coilover sleeve shortened and welded lower down. That seemed like a lot of work. So a few weeks ago, I decided to do a 5 Lug conversion on the touring. The front would be done with the adapter kit, standard E36 front wheel bearing/hub, E36 328i rotors and calipers. The rear would be done with trailing arms from a 318ti, and potentially E34 brakes at some point. Remember those 16" Style 5 wheels I picked a while back? They're going on the touring. Freshly wrapped in some Michelin rubber. That is some good motivation right there. The touring had been sitting under a cover for a few months. Time to get it airborne again. I had already managed to source the parts I needed for the front end, so I jumped on that first. The E30 front brakes and hubs all came off without an issue. I mocked up the hub adapter with the E36 hubs, Things fit nicely. I slapped a used 328i rotor on and got a wheel bolted on to check for fitment. Not too shabby. The main nut of the hub adapter doesn't have a locking tap like the factory setup. Instead, it uses a left hand threaded locking nut. This requires a thread on the inside of the end of the spindle. This is done with a left hand M16x1.5 thread. Quite and annoying size to find. Ready to go with the caliper adapter. New rotors with some EBC greenstuff pads. All bolted up. Here you can see the L/H locking bolt. Not bad. So this is basically where I am at the moment. I'm still waiting on trailing arms to do the rear end 5 lug. I'm going to drop the whole rear subframe, clean it up, and then paint it. Then I'll rebuild it with the 318ti arms, some poly bushings and new stainless brake lines. If anyone around Christchurch has some E36 318ti compact rear suspension available, I'm interested. That's it for the massive post dump. Peace.

Replaced a door handle because I own an e53. And fixed the loose window reg clip while i was in there, because I own an e53 Also got a e39 525 that runs and drives okay for $150. The owner said it didn't run but it ran pretty nice after I put some petrol in. And towed it home because I own an e53
