3 pointsSo im making a new thread as my last one was heading this way. I bought my 130i last week for a beautiful price of $3900. The car was owned by a lady for the 4 years since it has been imported. Its an 06 manual it looks lowered but i could be wrong as it doesnt have aftermarket shocks or springs in it. Has a full Arqray tail section stainless exhaust, which sounds great. I have since debadged the silly 3.0 si badge. It has an open diff which is a bit frustrating. The car is going in on thursday for a tune. I'm also grabbing a new rear BMW badge off Brent at some stage. Here is some photos that i have so far.

2 pointsUp for sale is my father’s 2000 BMW E39 540i Motorsport. Unfortunately, the automatic transmission has died. It still drives but will produce a ‘Trans FailSafe’ on the cluster, it clunks when changing gears after warming up. We had it looked at by Mainstreet Transmissions in Hamilton, they suggested finding a replacement or rebuilding this unit. This happened in February, the car has sat on his property since then, whilst he mulled over a decision to keep and fix or sadly flick it off…. Exterior: Reasonable condition, no major damage. Two dents on the bonnet - from a tree branch... A few scratches here and there, front bumper has a paint scrape and cracks along the bottom corners. Rear bumper has scratches and cracks – see photos. Rims are in ok condition, paint chips and curbing. Interior: Pretty good condition with a few blemishes. Everything works as it should, display on the cluster has faded pixels. Cup holders are still usable. Maintenance: Most of the maintenance and repairs have been done by myself and dad. -All coil packs and spark plugs have been replaced (2016) -Diff and transmission fluid replaced in 2017 -Coolant and brake fluid replaced annually -Engine oil and filter replaced every 10,000kms using Castrol Magnatec 10w40. -Timing chain guides and associated ‘while I’m in there parts/gaskets’ replaced (2017) -Alternator, battery, belts tensioners, coolant hoses, expansion tank, water pump, thermostat, fuel filter, PCV system, valve cover gaskets, valley pan gaskets (2017) -Vanos units rebuilt using the Besian procedure (2017) -All front and rear suspension components, bushes, arms, tie rods, ball joints, swaybar links. Shock absorbers replaced with Bilstein units (2018) -Front pads and rotors replaced, rear pads were replaced last year. -New fog lights last year Faults: Transmission issues – listed above Airbag light is on, seat occupancy sensor is at fault.. Drivers headlight a little faded Rear brake pad sensor is toast, replace it or disable the fault code Tyres are close to being worn out. Currently at: 261,446kms Last oil change was at 260,000kms WOF: Expired last month Rego: Until October Car will come with a few receipts, two remote keys (one key was brand new from Coombes last year) I have explained all known issues, this car will be sold AS IS WHERE IS. Yes it still drives, will it make it to Auckland? It might do but I wouldn’t advise it. Notes: -Photos show the 16:9 monitor, this has been removed and the 4:3 unit has been reinstalled -Missing rubber strap in the boot has been found and put back in -We have considered parting it out, don't really want to at this stage... Will be advertised here on BimmerSport for 7 days and then I will list on trademe. $3000.00 No trades. Feel free to call/text me on 027 461 7017. Photos:

2 pointsNow turning to some things that were planned previously and never happened due to the car not being driveable(un-safe) during lockdown/most of my ownership: - Alignment. New rear tyres fitted, that have barely been driven on, this is first up. - Paint touch up on the wheels, hopefully same time as alignment. - Supersprint exhaust back box from my parts car. Will give it a polish before fitment. - New antenna, ordered today as I fitted a stock one sourced from here but I didn't like the look once fitted. Ordered a stumpy one. - Headlight and side indicator tidy up, have a headlight lens restore kit which I'll use to clean and protect the headlights. After all these things are done there's still a couple of cosmetic issues with the car. But I'm going to drive it and enjoy it for a while before dealing with them. Some pics from antenna fitting today:

2 pointsSo after many months of tribulations the car is running again! I'm very happy ? Huge shout out to @KwS for helping me out with the valvetronic motor diagnosis and install with bmw software to set the limits. Got it done quick and it worked! He's an absolute legend. Also thanks to fcpeuro for the parts, delivered during lockdown too! After multiple trips to a euro mechanic since owning the car at Xmas, it still wasn't running right. Replaced the PCV, MAF, Eccentric shaft sensor, rocker cover gasket and had the front of the motor off to check the chain and tensioner. This was all done individually over the course of a couple of months and several back and forth trips to mechanics. Each time the 130i would then run OK for a day or two but then have further faults and run like trash. After the last major bill that "fixed" the car. I bought myself a carly scanner(scan tool should be mandatory if you own a bmw for real) and decided I would have a crack at it myself. I don't doubt that the parts replaced by the mechanic had issues or were faulty but it wasn't the main cause and it always seems to deteriorate after leaving their care. @KwS and his bmw software gave me a hidden fault code pre-lockdown of a stuck valvetronic motor, which was giving off strange live readings. It would work OK after reset then proceed to fall out of parameters. A bit of googling and I ended up ordering everything in the valvetronic chain, electronic and mechanical. I replaced fuses and an electronic module linked to the valvetronic system, plus did spark plugs as a "while I'm there" job during lockdown(also did plugs on my black 4 door). Used carly to clear faults and it came back, sometimes car would start and drive fine for a bit and other times wouldn't even start. So all that was left was the motor(plus gasket). Valvetronic motor is the silver cylinder on the left hand side of the engine, this is actually my black 130i from when I was doing spark plugs. I didn't take any pics working on the white one lol Once we were set free, @KwS came round on Sunday and fitted up the motor and gasket. Not a super difficult job except for one tricky bolt underneath, having to wind and unwind the motor to tension and removing the electrical wiring on the side to make room. Plus the software adjustment. Some of the coils and plugs/wiring that need to be removed to get to the motor bolts for removal. After we started it up and set limits it ran so goddamn beautifully. Improved throttle response and actual power when you put your foot down. Been driving it last two days and it's just great. Really happy to finally have my car back after months of frustration.

2 pointsGave it wash prior to WOF tomorrow. This is Fusso King of Gloss applied 7 weeks ago, and it was covered in mud prior to this evening. Stuff is really legit, behaves like a ceramic but way cheaper and easier to apply.

2 pointsWow thats a bargain, would be worth that even if it didnt run. Good spec too - https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/ps89060 (and good vintage, 140 off mine in production run )

2 pointsToday I experienced the proper way to add power to an E87. Get the team @HELLBM to squeeze a little S65 in there then make all of the corresponding (and necessary) transmission, drive train, suspension and brake upgrades. Who doesn't need 400+ hp in a 1er? Thanks for the opportunity to take it for a quick spin Ray, that thing is just epic. With those exhaust tips I would debadge it. For sure.

1 pointGidday team. My old Mercedes wagon blew out on me in January, so I thought I would throw myself into the BMW realm for a change. Went and bought a 2006 325i E91. Nabbed it from Christchurch and drove like a dream down home to Queenstown. Will be coming to uni with me in Dunners as well when semester 2 starts up. Pretty keen to black out the rims and grille soon and get her looking stealthy.

1 pointAsk them for a bulk deal, they were going to do me discount for a group buy scenario a few months ago.

1 pointNot sure the small gain in pressure would help all that much. The 50/50 coolant mix I'm using already has a boiling point of 122'C which should be higher still under pressure. If it is boiling issues then I'd be quite worried as we'd be talking near 130'C if that's the case. I've had my tablet connected to the Link ECU so I can monitor ECT and it never goes over 95'C when driving. I suspect the issue was to do with trapped air in the head which has subsequently cleared because I haven't had any more overflows in the last couple of days. I didn't raise the front of the car when filling the system so it's possible some air was trapped. I did a fan delete about 5 years ago and have been using front mounted electric controlled by the Link ECU ever since. I've got new radiator hoses arriving the in the next couple of days and will be changing the coolant to the blue BMW stuff when these are fitted. I'll also raise the front of the car this time to see if this helps with the overflow issue. If there are still overflows after this then I'll change the radiator cap because it might be faulty. When fitting the Euro expansion tank you'll need to find/make the ledge support it sits on. Most likely your car will have the mounting bracket on the firewall already which is easy to use (2 x M6 screws). However, you'll need to fabricate a bracket to bolt onto the strut tower to support the other end of the ledge. I fabricated my own ledge because I couldn't find anyone with a second hand one. I used 3mm ally plate for the ledge and 25x25x3mm ally angle for the strut tower bracket. For the expansion tank mounting you'll need to make a support at the back of the ledge for the two round bits to slide into + a clamp at the front for the foot. You also have to make a bracket off the side of the ledge to hold the round plug for the ECU connection (and a second one for the other round plug if you car is auto) as this/these need to be relocated.

1 pointI didn't like the last generation of Lexus due to their over sized grill with much of it being fake. Don't like this one either. But it's designed for China not the enthusiast.

1 pointhttps://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=UF92-EUR-11-2005-E87-BMW-130i&diagId=51_6535 The V bar things on the rear end to the diff is a E81 thing, no idea why the 2 door has it, maybe they had issues with flex on em ? E91 Msports get even more bracing and stuff, and big ass aluminium plate across transmission tunnel, but from eye-o-meter none of the pick up points transferred across to the E8x platform.

1 pointGuys, just had Pramod help me with recoding of my 2010 528i Japa radio, supposedly this had been done by the dealer but whilst it would bring in the NZ stations, reception was lousy. Suggested fix was a NZ new module at $1100 plus labour plus GST. Pramod was able to reprogramme the existing module using just his laptop and expertise - it all took just a few minutes and the results was excellent. Thanks for your help.

1 pointI bought one of these for the wife - a Motorsport one. I think a lot of the lazy side comes from the transmission and throttle programming for economy. Put it in Sport and it wakes up quite a bit. It’s not a rocket but a great family cruiser. The engine is a lovely turbine and sonorous enough.......would drop it instantly for an e46 M3 though......and didn’t want the bills connected to a v8 for a daily......

1 pointThat's what I did with M3 master cylinder, slave cylinder, braided clutch hose and valve delete. I was using the G250G gearbox & 3.15: 1 Medium case LSD Diff with the E30 325i MS Axles . It was perfect in my M52B28 Ti

1 pointit will have no mechanical lock (thats what you are overcoming when you do it) and will back out. im sure your one experience of one car is better tho.

1 pointI was the first owner of this car and put the wheels and suspension on. It was sad to see this car end up in the hands of previous owner before you as I think He might have been a little bit too young to own a lovely car and he didn’t take the best care of it as I’ve seen. Those wheels are a one off set of that size and offset in nz and I waited close to 5 months for them to arrive from japan. I absolutely miss the power and feel of this little gocart that’s for sure. After a few months of your ownership I really hope this car has had no more issues.

1 pointDay #711 A goodbye to one of the greatest cars I've ever had the privilege of owning, and the M3 sized hole in my heart it left behind It's been a fantastic couple years, but as mentioned in previous posts, my paranoia of damaging such a beautiful example of a car held me back from truly enjoying him. the M3's new family came to take him home on Friday. I know it sounds stupid to make a post like this when you willingly sold a vehicle, but its still something that has left me feeling a little sad, however I know the new owner will continue to take fantastic care of this fantastic machine and give it the love and attention it deserves. I have absolutely loved every moment owning this car, and being involved in the community that surrounds these! Everyone has been so friendly, and the friends made will definitely last! This will absolutely not be the last time I own a BMW (even thinking of picking up a rougher E46 later down the line!) I'm sure the new owner will make himself known on the forums/ club soon enough, but I truly do wish him and his family all the best with their latest member! And of course, for those curious, a very strange string of events has led to an example of the aforementioned dream car being available for purchase! (looooong story, but it's currently sitting in my garage!) so that little goal of "by Christmas" may come a few months early! But yeah, a big thanks to everyone I met on the forums, and elsewhere. I'll likely still trawl through the forums for a while yet, but probably more of a lurker than a serial photodumper/ cheesening creator xD

1 pointI don't think it's actually that cheap at all. It sat on Trademe 2-3 years back for a longgggggg time (from memory over 12 months, private listing). Something doesn't quite add up with that car - it appears to have been re-registered, there's orange peel on the front quarter panels, and the interior looks pretty well used. Why would you replace the floor mats with odd ball replacements at 58k?
