NZ new vehicles have some of the weirdest options list on some cars..

South of the Bombay Hills is always good. ? Heading towards Kaiaua around the Coast is nice. Everywhere else I used to drive is built up and busy now.

You would be surprised how many people hate them. Especially down here with the out of touch. "Bloody people with those LED lights (pronounced 'Lead' like the element). They are too bright so I high beam them as they go past" I get high beam flashed at least a few times a week by idiot farmers who are happy with their candle powered sh*t old H4's that are shaking so bad and so poorly aligned it gives people on the ISS epileptic fits. I just high beam them back now. Sick of it. Went right out of my way to make sure my lights are perfectly aligned.

Finally taking a quiet moments lunch to post on my recently acquired 2008 135i. Sparking Graphite Metallic with Coral Red Leather. Bought from Auckland City BMW, provided with a complete and detailed service history from new, serviced only at BMW, and found every WOF sheet in the glove box :D. My wife says this is a midlife crisis type of purchase. Paint is swirl free as dealer did a cut and polish, but it seems to be more of a cut and a bit less on the polish as there are still fine inperfections here and there that a true machine polish stage would have removed. One day I'll rectify this but haven't got the energy right now :D. Won't be doing anything too ambitious for a while on this as got a good deal on Autosure with it, so will drive it liberally (as much as one can with a weekend occasional driver) and hopefully the big ticket items will require replacing over the next couple of years (Injectors! please injectors! and turbo wastegates). She's had a new water pump 2 years ago as well as some injectors replaced under warranty. I need to do an assay on what injectors are currently installed so I know where I am for the future. I'd really love to at least get a dual cone intake (if only for the sound!) and possibly a better intercooler on there but suspect that is squarely in Autosure voiding territory so won't be going there for now :(. Have driven only an embarassing 19km (yes NINETEEN) in the last month due to lockdowns and prepping Post purchase activities were: Wheel deep clean, they do a good job at the fronts but never get in behind the wheels. Poorboys wheel sealant used afterwards. Proper interior clean (it was okay, but needed some detail). Paint sealant (Klasse High Gloss Sealant) Collinite 476S Super Double Coat (lasts > 6 months I've found) Paste wax (Fireball) Front and rear dashcam install. AVIN 10 inch Android 10 iDrive screen replacement. Plans: Walnut blast booked in soon too as it seems not to have been done at all prior to now. Smokers pack retrofit!

So, I’m back in Beamer world. M42B18 plan is to install a supercharger, I love me a sleeper so I might not change much else.

www.trademe.co.nz/2755542194 Looks like a super tidy NZ new E39 sedan in the best blue - biarritz blue metallic. Just drop in an engine and you got a good daily for sub 3k or so. @Cammsport @HELLBM

@qube ^^ that's exactly what I was looking for, I now see why they call you the wheel God on here haha. The RFT are Bridgestone potenzas, they cheap because they are getting out of that particular market and I wanted to give them a try. At $100 a tyre I wasnt really aiming for perfect setup, just double checking a staggered fitting wouldn't throw me into things like polley was talking about with e39. After this I will probably go back to non run flat and 255/35 rear 225/40 or 235 on fronts.

Well good luck! ? The back screws got me too, in the end either a long torx driver or a flexible shaft did the trick.

I use a cheapo one with my petrol blaster. I'm sure it's tool pro It worked pretty well but I did modify the nozzle a little for a better "sheet" effect and I have rejetted it too, keihin/mikuni jets work quite well for that ? Rejecting for better foam action does make a decent difference in the amount of product used

PA Italy snow foam Lance. Think it's about $140, works great. I've heard the ones from detail depot are also pretty good and are about $80.

So I thought initially it was going to fit without modification. This has turned out not to be the case. There is a raised area on the base, approximately 1 cm square on each side and about 5mm deep that is wider than the existing hole. Such is life. Cutting this area on the left won't be an issue as there is nothing beneath. The right hand side is very near what is either some kind of duct or the rear of the key/start button enclosure. I may opt to grind down the top of the dash here by 6mm or so avoiding the need to cut. Regarding cables, I had no real issues running the video, gps, usb , to the the left and right around the vents and past the frame. The one that had to take a slightly more direct route with was the power connector. It's shorter and has a stupidly big fuse with a filter in a black box half way along. This made it impossible for me to run through the small gap between the frame on either side. At this point everything works. The only remaining task is to do the cutting and screw the base down. Not looking forward to putting in the rear mounting screws. Looks tricky. With an bit of luck should have this done tonight.

I use this one on my Karcher mini water blaster. It's great: https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/karcher-waterblaster-fj3-foam-lance-300ml-black-and-transparent/p/239907?gclid=CjwKCAjwkJj6BRA-EiwA0ZVPVqI2MveIryRPFYz8GVXfF5smvX21c7r0h_Fmm27o_OohJfun2sBn_hoCTzQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds The only complaint I would have is the detergent bottle is a little small. I need to fill it twice to do the Kona which really isn't a big deal

I have one from Super cheap ( i think its branded as a tool pro) That i use on my big petrol water blaster and it works very well, I also have a small ryobi water blaster and the small ryobi foam gun that fits it, it does work but the foam is a lot thinner and more watery, it runs off the car a lot quicker, I suspect this has more to do with the lower pressure and flow of the water blaster than the design of the foam gun. I can also water the snow foam mix down quite a lot when using the big foam gun, but I have to use it neat in the smaller one to get any kind of foam.

I bought an el cheapo off AliExpress a few years ago, similar to this. Its held up fine and once you "tune" it to the right settings you can get that real thick layer of foam. I use it with Chemical Guys Mr. Pink. only down fall would be that with it attached to my karcher, the way they have the thread means the bottle is cocked off 30 degrees from vertical (kind of hard to explain).

apparently they are,so all the forum posts I found on the web said, with H&R race slightly lower, was going to go race but assumed it would be to low but now I am thinking should of gone for thew extra 10mm, all in all tho it looks better no gap in the arch and no rubbing but just not the slammed look I was expecting, doesn't bottom out on driveways etc also, any lower and it probly would so for drive ability I think they are perfect here are some before n afters, afters kind of sh*t due to dark in garage and no room to stand back and take a pic,but ill take a full side shot tomorrow just need to whack on some spacers now to push the wheels out

230,XXXkm New Battery time. Din88 CCA 850. Local garage gave me a 'deal' on a Century, 3 year warranty etc...worked out cheaper than repco but...ouch. No coding required on the E39 is my understanding? I also got new tires but that's been abit of headache with the balancing. Went with Dunlop Sport Max 050's all round 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17. Beaurepairs attempted to balance them twice since i had a horrific shimmy at 80-100 km. Resulted in being told both my rims are bent only to go to Bridgestone Miramar and have them tell me that the fronts had 30grams and the rears had 20grams too much weight on them...and that the shape of my wheels are fine. 80-100km shimmy gone........mostly I still have a 50km and a100km little shimmy/high frequency vibration through the steering wheel and seat though which seems to get worse after 20mins of driving. It's small but annoying.

I ended up getting some Grills in Chrome Black, Cost $150, really nice quality , don't feel thin and cheap like a lot of the cheaper ebay ones I think they look pretty cool, something a bit different from the Matte or Gloss Black was also thinking of trying to get the lower mesh done in chrome black also here is a few pics (angel eye just blew lol) doesn't quite look as good in pictures though also had a spare grill and some plastidip so thought id play around and tried a white border grill which I actually think looks quite sweet, what do you all think?

i would say it doesnt matter but im more curious why 255/35 is not available as this is the standard size tyre for the style 193 or any other 18" staggered set ups for a lot of sedans.

Before I sold my E60 I put an aftermarket black grille on so I have the original silver grille spare. It's in OK condition, I think all the tabs are there. It was plastidipped black but I got the majority of it off. I believe it fits your every day E60 as well. Free, just pay for/arrange shipping, or pick it up in Auckland.

Great topic here: Plenty of E46 M3 experts here to chip in. Might be overpriced being an SMG Vert with 200+ km though.

My theory is somebody approached them with a business model... Entrepreneur: Hey BMW do you know people are using your data for free when you could charge for it? BMW: Yes, but it's too much trouble, we can't be bothered. E: If you give us access, and empower us to issue takedowns, we'll charge customers and pay you a royalty. B: What do we have to do? E: Profit. B: Okay.

After experiencing a Covid related 3 month delay on receiving Suspension from the UK earlier this year I ordered some ST-XA Coilovers from Demontweeks, being under the impression they had an order on its way within two weeks. Just got the email notification - stock isn't expected to arrive in the UK until 25th of October ? Better be worth the bloody wait!
