4 pointsWhile I await the cars return with a new transmission costing twice the value... I've finally made a start on refurbishing the style 66's now that that house painting is largely behind me... bring on more garage time...

4 pointsDon't they look good together... The straight at Ruapuna seemed like a nice spot to park.. Finally had time to stick on the OEM spoiler, and give it a good wash. Fitment was absolutely perfect. Why did I waste my time with that knock-off crap... Blacked out kidney grill: Spoiler + blacked out diffuser:

1 pointIve got a ACS front lip off my old car you can have if you like, it's painted in Orient as well but got a crack in the fibreglass repair the PO did. I can probably drop it off when i go upto Auckland.

1 pointSuccess, managed to get the trans to swallow another 0.5 litre! Also finished welding and tidying the stereo surround, and made a hole in it for the boost gauge, it will get powder coated with black wrinkle powder, if I get bored I may try and fit a cup holder in the bottom section, but not today...

1 pointmy initial thoughts are that 275 Trophy is a LOT of car for the money. But reading the description that says it was imported from Aus as a statutory write off would probably explain the lower than usual cost. And may well affect is saleability over time. In saying that - you would never know by looking at the photos. It looks terrific!!

1 pointThat car at Chevron Motors was not a nice example. Singapore car, rubbers on screens front and rear damaged, carbon fibre roof delaminating, myna bird droppings had left staining on the bonnet and boot lid, probably helping the roof delamination along too. However the final blow for me at least was, a new set of Horace Horizon tyres had been fitted. The black worked well with the red interior, but didn't bother going further with a road test unfortunately. ? There was an excellent one owner x UK example in AW in the low thirties earlier in the year at Ebbett Motors in Hamilton, someone acquired that pretty quickly.

1 pointAlright lads, New member here based in Christchurch, moved to New Zealand in February. Left Ireland in 2016 then having spent almost 4 years in Sydney, the partner and I got an opportunity to be relocated here! No Beemers yet in the house, currently have the our 2010 TT and my work vehicle, but chasing an E30 for the weekends ?? Lewis

1 pointpainted the front bumper, very badly, it is now all the same color but that is about the best thing I can say about it! Also painted some headlight eyebrow things I had left over from my previous e39. The obligatory run in the clear coat that reminds me how impatient I am!!
-
1 pointThis should now be solved. In the near future I am planning to move the website data to a new host, in theory it will be faster as a result of the change.

1 pointI got offered 40k for my car last year before it was written off. I declined. I think that Tech 2 is beautiful. He actually brought it round here yesterday and I must say, she's a tidy one. But Tech 1 over everything for me

1 pointThe "325I M" plate is not a legal NZ manufactured plate, will need to be re-made to be 100% legit. But does seem like the owner has had it for a long time as it was first registered to the car on 1993! Hogg & Swan - trademe user goeuro - have consistently had numerous E30's for sale in the past, none quite as good as this though. On the original sales brochure under extras it says "Superb Performance" lol! Only 2 owners!! (3 incl dealer) It is so nice but 40k is 40k.. a lot of money for one of these.. (i'll probably be laughing at this post 5 years later when its $65k)

1 pointBought a staggered set of style 66 wheels, they look a little bit rough which will match the rest of the car perfectly!!

1 pointWow, 10 Years on, and still shines up ok. Just had a major 25th birthday and is the best its ever been in my ownership, I would say it drives pretty much like new. All new suspension and steering, including Bilstein's. Lots of servicing, all leaks fixed, hpc coated cam covers, diff seals, subframe bushes, etc, the list really does just go on and on. FCP have been great!

1 pointUp the budget - this is a bargain IMO https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2825486072?bof=b1GbOlw1

1 pointNot tried XHPs version but do use MHD boost by gear which certainly helped my launches. Set 1st to 10psi and virtually eliminated the rear end breaking away just before it changed to second.

1 pointJust read through the 10 page thread. WOW! is there anthing left on this car that hasn't been done ? Alternator maybe??? although I see you had that out in the pulley saga pics. GLWS.
-
1 pointThis is an excellent example of an E39. Meticulously maintained and seriously loved. All major issues already addressed. GLWS

1 pointThank you for all the response! Special thanks to @Arron for reaching out and helped solving the issue with my car, so stocked that it's finally acting how it really should be. My faith with the dealership is dead, very disappointed on them with all the time and money I've wasted it's just ?. You're a legend @Arron, once again thank you so much. ?
