A mate bought an Italian scooter end of ‘14, did 5000kms on it. Stopped Nov last year, ignition coil had died according to the dealer who had sold and serviced it. “Can’t get those anymore, it’s scrap, come and get it from our workshop.”

A bit south of Auckland actually. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/whanganui-chronicle/news/toyota-corolla-serviced-in-whanganui-surpasses-two-million-kilometres/65OLV5QLKCI5T3Y3UQEJWWNX74/
  4. I’m sure I’ve seen that around, looks nice, good luck with the sale.

A Prius on the open road would be a close match for the Tiida.
  6. Interesting. Realoem showed the spring pads were the same for e30/36.
  7. My theory is that the spring pads add length to the spring area, but don’t actually affect the physical spring length? If that makes sense. I’ve been told it’s arguable as to whether the rear springs are fully captive, but if they have less physical room due to thicker pads, this should be cured, as in they are held more securely in place? Just trying to get a gauge on if my theory will work or create more issues I’m unaware of. For reference, centre of the rear wheel to top centre of the arch is 270mm, so I can afford to have a bit more height.
  8. Thanks, had a look, three different sizes for the bottom and no size specified for the top. Something to mull over.
  9. Possibly a dumb question, but never looked into this before. If you use thicker spring pads at the rear, (I believe you can use thicker top and bottom?), this will have the same effect as lengthening the spring height? Or am I missing some simple piece of geometry? And if this is the case, what is the standard spring pad thickness on an E30?
  10. Shipping was good and quick, and for rotors, 24kg.
  11. I looked at a dark coloured one (black?) years ago, think you’re right, 1/4. Got scared off by the reputation, can’t remember the list of potential problems, but it wasn’t short or cheap. But as above, you only live once, enjoy.
  12. Assuming it has decent history, I’d go for this. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/x3/listing/3395665885 It’s been on for a while, hit them low.
  13. Aren’t they the heater pipes from memory?

  15. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen one in Auckland, but can’t remember where or when. Sorry that doesn’t really help!

    Servicing

Petrol or diesel? E53/70, F15 or whatever the next one is? Brakes are pricey from the dealer, but the parts are easy to get and considerably cheaper elsewhere. General servicing shouldn't be outrageous. Check if they do the Value Service Package down there, $340 if 6 years old or more. Runflats can be expensive too, much more than a service depending on brand.
  17. ^^^^^ Complete with what used to pass as a personalised plate, perfect if your name is Oswald Quidditch.

  21. I was in a 2022 RS5 a week or so back and commented that the info screen looked like it had been stuck on. Didn’t look integrated at all.
  22. You mean like this (a random pic)?
  23. I have some for the X5, supplied by previous owner. Will try the q tips, as I haven’t used it. Hardly any chips though either.
