    Too low

I probably skip the repair kit or just get new bolt and locknut for the strut if you are concerned. I dont think the rest is really worth it (front mounts come with locknuts?) and washer are very re-usable. Shipping is usually priced fairly well but never ordered that once at once. Im guessing its the combination of struts\shocks and springs. Try splitting those up and see. Sometimes certain parts add a lot of shipping for no real reason, not just on this site. The springs were nearly 100 euro shipped with a couple of other small things when i got mine. Still ended up way cheaper than anywhere else. So i know where the other 200 euro is coming from?
  2. Certainly be the most reliable spec. The M62\5HP24 combo is the least reliable spec in my book, mostly saved because they probably arent used very much.

Guess it depends what you are after and what you are using the car for. I think Koni and higher end Bilstein overpriced these days. IMO B6\B8 Bilsteins are rubbish ride quality on average NZ road without being re-valved. Im pretty happy Eibach Pro-kit (slightly lower and firmer than Msport springs) with and OE spec TRW struts\shocks on my E46. Rides and handles very well without sacrificing ride quality and they are cheap. They have their drawbacks in certain conditions compared to higher end products, but most people arent driving the car like that. H&R's are much firmer spring. https://spareto.com/products/eibach-suspension-kit-coil-springs/e2063-140 https://spareto.com/products/trw-shock-absorber/jgm239t https://spareto.com/products/trw-shock-absorber/jgs160t Yeah you will certainly need new bump stops, strut mounts, dust boots and maybe spring rubbers for the front end. Rears parts dont seem to fail on E39's but id probably buy new rear bump stops and they degrade over time.
  4. +1 swapping the sensor. If its an aftermarket sensor i wouldn't trust it - OE Conti\VDO is all id ever use.
  5. Just refreshing all the common wear items has always done me well. Stock is underrated imo because few people have driven when new\refreshed.
  6. Yeah the front camber is quite a bit out really. Looks like something maybe a little bent. Guessing they didnt try adjusting it by loosening the top strut mount nuts to see what range they could get?
  7. No alignment sheet? Vague steering could be many things - alignment, worn suspension\steering parts, wheels and tyres. But yeah comparing it with a M car on 20's maybe be unfair. Clunking is typically drivetrain related. Could be excessive backlash in the diff which isnt uncommon on these. Worn engine\transmission mounts, dry driveshaft splines or worn u-joints, worn rear diff mounts, worn dual mass flywheel etc can cause clunking also. If you run it on a hoist\axle stands you should be able to localize it. Majority of these cars are still on original parts for a good portion of the car.
  8. Sure had lots of positive things to say about it, i kept thinking that's because its had a lots of money spent on it unlike the average one. I think old used car reviews are more about the example being reviewed rather than the car itself.
  9. Turners arent bad per se but i wouldnt recommend them. Spareto.com is my goto these days and FCP Euro if they dont have it. Typical refresh is water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, top and bottom radiator hoses, plastic water pipes\fittings and maybe radiator. Maybe other recommended hoses to replace in your particular engine im not sure.
  10. My old E30 had the same issue. Rarely ever happened luckily. Given the milage on your car it probably deserves a bit of a mechanical birthday. E30s aren't too hard on the wallet.

    Milland

Yeah that is the main issue for just about all BMW parts suppliers in NZ and why i rarely use them. No one seems want to invest in a basic ecommerce platform.
  12. Yeah suspect it may of given the roof and front end and roof are slightly different shade of Estoril
  13. IRP solid subframe mounts installed. Froze them over night and they went in very easy. While i had to had the subframe mount i decided to check some spot welds in areas that CMP mentioned. Found a couple of failed ones i had missed as they are covered in seam sealer. Also got messy with a wire wheel and angle grinder to shave my mess i had previous made with the seam sealer. Much tidier now. Left the car out in the rain for 24hrs during that wild weather we had a couple of weeks ago and it did not like it. It had previously had a very small strip of clear coat failure near the front of the bonnet but now its really fubar. Can only assume water has got under into it combined with the heavy rain\ wind caused it to sh*t itself. Never seen anything like it and to fail so quick. I regret not leaving it in the garage now as it makes the stone chips look pleasant. I predict at least a front end respray in my very near future.
  14. Damn. Wasnt it 30 degrees down there today or something?. Keep up the gentrification
  15. Mk-motorsportteile.de alloy mounts in black for a pleasant look. More suited to lowered cars for roll center correction as they are 6mm shorter than factory mounts Made in Germany $500 shipped
  16. That regulator failure is something. Motorcycles do it a bit but cant say ive come across the failure on a car.
  17. Could be the inspector wrote the sticker wrong. Its probably 12 months in the system.
  18. Friend got his 318is back for the panel beaters. Brand new OE fender, fender lining, side skirt, trims, side indicator and engine mounts, all repainted with a 2nd hand door. 7k bill (paid 10k for ~14 year ago). Very lucky it was through an unusual insurance outfit and wasn't written off. Getting hard to find tidy ones these days.
  19. Spareto.com will be way cheaper id bet. Fastest and cheapest place ive found these days by a good margin.

    2008 BMW 135i

Reminded me of this a R6 rider post to a forum a couple of years back. Very similar performance.
  21. Wonder why they didnt paint it all black. I can tell you why but you already know. Yeah they always appreciate tidy vehicles in a sea of sh*t
  22. The shipping and tax on that Birds suspension must be a bit.

    Quick rant thread.

DHL express are great. DHL parcel are rubbish. Mines been stuck at the infamous IPZ Frankfurt for nearly 3 weeks because the German sender cheaped out. Lucky its not urgent.
  24. I dont know much about photography but they don't look good to me (certainly far worse photos out there mind you). They lack clarity\sharpness\detail. Interior shots are the worse, very blurry, light may not be helping with those.
