There would have to be parameters based on the vehicle and age i would think. Im not against removing all old cars from the road purely because of age but should be at least some sort of standard to remove the worse offenders (which are mainly as Jon stated)

I agree and that why I dont like diesels in general, plenty that shouldn't even pass a WOF even without testing. All these guys removing DPF from their utes etc maybe in for a shock at some stage when they gotta pay to put them back in to pass a wof. Maybe it will slow down sales to all these idiots that think they need a ute.

    Land Yacht

Yeah wouldn't want to do it twice either. I had to JB weld my rear door cars as they pulled part which dragged out the job till the next day.

Never noticed msport also have black trim on the inside of the doors until i was swapping them over myself. Guessing you not going to worry about that though ?
  5. Likely talking about the flywheel spacer\skim that goes under the flywheel bolts
  6. If you want cheaper plugs you will likely have to buy overseas and wait. eg https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/audi-bmw-mini-porsche-vw-spark-plug-ngk-bkr6equp
  7. Yeah they are great from a customer perspective. They dont appear amazing in many other areas though.
  8. If you slap 2 of them inline its straight 8 and retains muscle car status. Im sure it will easily fit.
  9. Ive used Youshop UK in the past and they are extremely slow to process and ship, can't imagine its improved in the current environment, especially with the additional $4 per 500g they have just added due to the virus. Royal mail is (maybe was atm) fairly well priced and fast

    Coolant

As above if you just want to top it up use water, not going change anything long term unless its already been heavily diluted in the past. You can run a 40\60 coolant to water ratio without issue and probably 30\70 if you had to. Plenty of other acceptable coolants you can swap to IF you drain and flush out the BMW stuff https://www.repco.co.nz/en/oils-fluids/engine-oils-fluids/coolant/penrite-7-year-450-000km-green-coolant-concentrate-5l-coolgreen005/p/A1270778 Is what i use these days as it meets BMW spec and isn't way overpriced like the BMW stuff seems to be these days.
  11. At least anyone wanting it has got at least an additional month to save up for it.

    Quick rant thread.

High trust model at work. Im sure some people require it asap for upcoming rent, food etc so it has to fast for that and given the volume of people applying that can't not be.

The wage subsidy is to encourage employers to keep people employed but it wont save everyones job. Some businesses maybe not be able to pay 80% of their employees wages for this extended period (no income, cash on hand etc) so they may not apply for the wage subsidy. In that case it's a matter of discussing what measures (if any) can be done to keep your employment eg voluntary annual leave or unpaid leave etc. I think there will be additional assistance packages once the lock down period has subsided. You can't force anyone to take annual leave without 14 days notice unless its agreed upon with your employer. It's always been like that but some employers are ignorant, or try and sometimes succeed to preying upon employees who don't know their rights.
  14. Yeah. Poor quality but you get the jist of it.
  15. Originally owned\built by Kerry from Mosen Euro parts in the late '00 iirc. He then sold it to Graham who got it tuned properly (Gavin Hi-velocity iirc). Dont know how many owners its been through since then but im sure its been played it over the years. Someone broke or swapped the original diff out by the sounds of it.
  16. Yeah i think a 4WD V6 Diesel VW would be harder burden to live with than a crack addition.
  17. Good idea to reset adaptions when changing the fluid. You really need to drain at least twice to get most of the old fluid if you are using the fill and drain method.

    Quick Questions

To me it would mainly depend on condition of each and country of origin, both are decent choices and i couldn't say one is truly better than the other even though id probably go with the E34. Main issues i have with the E46 M43 are the potential very expensive failures ($450+ DISA valve and ABS module) but M52 has more smaller problems which can add up costing a bit. If you dont care about performance and are in it for the long haul then the E34 suspension is noticeably cheaper, stronger and generally easier to work on.

    E39 M5

I'm pretty neutral on the matter, it's something most do to varying degrees that i have no real issue with as long as they being dishonest about anything. People just about never tell you what they bought something for when selling if they got a bargain (unlike the opposite) which tells you something about the human psyche. Personally when ive got good deals on things and haven't invested much time into them then ill give someone else a good deal if they are a reputable buyer. 30k is a fair market price and the rest is purely subjective

To me people can ask whatever price they like as is their right, just like people have to right to freedom of information in these situations.

    Blown hose

You didn't say what engine but Its likely number 6 in the diagram if its an m52 http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E36-Sedan/Europe/328i-M52/R-A/browse/engine/crankcase_ventilation_oil_separator

    Project E39

Had similar problems on a E39 and a couple of Japanese cars at work but it was always the going from drive to manual gear selection. Both times it was caused by wear on plastic pieces which needed the shifter assembly replaced.

    The Silver Titan

+1. If the rear carpet is damp then that foam underneath will be soaked. Probably pay to remove the rear seat and bottom trims and see if you can pry the carpet up enough to air it out, otherwise you may have to remove the front seats and center console. Sealing corners of rear quarter panel glass helps lessen water entering when the seals are aged.
  24. I bought a older F650 with carburetor for my first bike - great reliable all rounder with decent power and nice to work being a single carb with center stand. Only thing i didn't like was the typical single banger vibration you got through the bars at 100kph+, but it was nothing you couldn't live with. Not a fan of 250's myself, singles are too under powered for open road use and the inline 4's are torqueless screamers which need too much revs for me . Plenty of bigger capacity ie 500cc+ modern LAMS bikes to choose from if you got some more coin. As always it comes down to preference and your use case in the end.
  25. They are likely a secondary set of cats, the primary ones are integrated into exhaust manifold. Depending on your emission standard you may or may not have post cat O2 sensors after the primary cats. Doubt you will achieve much by deleting them, maybe a slight change in exhaust tone for better or worse.
