5 pointsSaw this awesome thing in Hawaii. Wilwoods hiding under the front wheels, plus the number plate suggests something else going on too. Love the colour!

3 pointsGavin just converted my E24 from factory ECU to a Link set-up, in preparation to pull and rebuild the motor. Now running wasted spark, AFM delete, sequential injection, with all new mil spec wiring loom. just want to say Gavin is a really nice guy, knows hist stuff, very fastidious and goes the extra mile. Will be going back later this year / early next to set up the new motor and performance tune. Highly recommend.

2 pointsAnd so begins the journey. Fairly busy weekend, Andy was nice enough to drop off an exhaust for me. I replaced all the seals on an E36 steering rack, more because I could rather than because it needed to be done. (So hopefully it is leak free) Here is is in pieces:: Managed to get the M20 out with no issues. (Didn't forget to disconnect anything) And of course the classic "in the engine bay shot". Or as my friend always states "Another BMW powered by hopes and dreams" Had it all out before 12PM. Then went to split the gearbox, someone had clearly been at it prior. -Mix of Hex and Torx bolts for the gearbox to the engine -End of Torx bolts rounded off due to the incorrect sizing -Rounded out bolt that holds the clutch to the flywheel Aim is to have the M52 in next weekend, so that will be a good challenge.

1 pointHi Guys This is my very first BMW, I've only ever owned Japas and I dont think I will be going back anytime soon. I bought this 5 series a couple of years ago. I haven't done much to it just changed the wheels and lowered it, upgraded all the speakers to some nice Pioneers, tinted it and added a front lip. The guy who owned it before me didn't know too much about the car. Maybe you guys might be able to tell me more about it? The car has many extras that I have not seen on other 520i's like its got flappy paddle shifters on the steering wheel and also M5 style front guards. The car also has a after market exhaust system I have a feeling this was imported into NZ like this. I look forward to coming to the meets and cruises and meeting some of you guys.

1 pointJust on the off chance...anyone driving from Tauranga to Masterton, Palmy or Wellington this week that has room for an engine? If not, I'll be driving up there and then driving back to Masterton on Saturday so will have room on my ute for extras if anyone wants anything picked up.

1 pointSweet! Next milestone: 309789 and a 3rd... ish. Or you can just code the odo to kilometers to watch it click over 500... but they might get upset when your RUCs are suddenly VERY past expired

1 pointI'd guess it'd be doable for under a grand. Probably $400 for CNC bent tube, add another $300 for fittings/flanges/welding. Cheaper if group buy, are mids the same for M52B28s etc?

1 pointOkay so Noooooooooooow the E30 is back on the road, and road legal! Hat Tip to RS Sinclair in CHCH for the WoF. Electrical gremlins all fixed, tacho and econometer all going, and damage from time and idiocy repaired on dash cluster and SI board. Tomorrow I be rolling. Okay one small issue, not sure how normal it is, shuddering on takeoff once it's done a few takeoffs, all good when everything is cold. Upside if i need to replace the clutch is I can put the Getrag 260 back in, was too lazy when I did the engine change to swap the box too.

1 pointMounted these. Seemed appropriate to do it in the rain since they're semi-slicks. Drive to work tomorrow could be fun in the rain. Cold 225 track tyres verses sticky 255 street tyres... Thought I'd hate the black... don't mind it actually.

1 pointWelcome. Nice to see you here. And lolz at my tank on the end of that E30 line up...

1 pointDid the coro loop on my bike yesterday and saw a very nice AW M5 in its natural habitat, the gas station. Driver was pouring some oil into it as well. Also saw an E36 M3 on the northern last night being driven like a maniac. Number plate was "M3AN".
-
1 pointYup, if I'd seen that I would have wanted to save it. Far too nice to wreck.

1 pointTalking to my wifes uncle today about his late model X5 3.0d- 30,000km between oil changes, and what comes out actually resembles what goes in, it isn't the thin black liquid one might expect. Modern engine and expensive oil, perhaps; he did mention the dealer charged $200 for the oil for each service
